I like him as a player, I don't like him as an NFL prospect because he's VERY skinny and I don't know how his game will translate. Not at pick 6 at least. I've posted my comparisons of him in on here numerous times and it's more than he is just skinny.
January 12, 20214 yr I want no part of Smith. He's built like a middle schooler. Off topic...is it a sign of getting old when you hate every commercial you watch? I can't remember the last one I actually liked.

January 12, 20214 yr Obviously body size wise they're different, but Smith in college looks like Rice out there. Nothing about him is physically imposing but he does everything right and at a high level.

Devonta would work as the deep threat, probably not the workhouse WR due to his size but still an elite talent. We need playmakers on this team at this point.

I wonder if it's some sort of conditioning thing to get us to buy their products but many of them seem just completely irrelevant to the product. Drives my dog nuts.

This is why I don't see him as a top 10 pick. This draft class, while it has depth, it doesn't have many top tier blue chip prospects. Kinda sucks we end up with the #6 pick in a year when there's not great value at the top end of the draft. This is why I'm OK with some QB hungry team trading up with us while we acquire more picks (and 2022 picks might be better than 2021 picks) and then see what's available to us in a lower spot.

Even Sweat isn't safe. That certainly includes Goedert. There's a few I wouldn't trade and Goedert would be one

That's why I was so sour on Justin Jefferson. I never insisted he'd bust and I missed the boat on him for sure...but NCAA yardage is just white noise. Megatron didn't top 1,000 yards until his 3rd year as a starter. Metcalf never did anything. Devonta Smith, Jamar Chase, and Jordan Matthews put up those numbers from the training room between plays. If you're in the right system, get the right targets, and play enough games, you'll have better numbers than the actual right prospect. And I'm not saying that Chase and Smith won't be immensely successful, but I do think they'll be overdrafted due to being gears in the machine with NFL talent playing overwhelmed defenses. This draft, as in previous years, will probably feature a lucky team(s) that plucks a more athletic WR from round 2 who is just as good, if not better than the guys at the very top.

January 12, 20214 yr I love Master Teague III. I love his name. Backstory: My middle son rode a bus to pre school circa 2012. I walked him and the dog to the bus stop every morning around 0600. One morning we got to talking and my son told me about how the older kids on the bus made fun of the younger kids and called them names. I said "Well that stinks. Do they call you names?" He said "Yeah." I asked " What do they call you?" He said "Master."
January 12, 20214 yr Southern people are weird going to games in business casual attire. I used to go to PSU games in the t-shirt I puked on the night before

Yea, they picked a bad year to to bottom out for sure. Bad top end talent. Top players opting out so no current tape on them. Possibly no combine....good job Eagles.

January 12, 20214 yr Smith is going to be a good player. He's a great route and catches almost everything. He'll add on weight and muscle. I don't have an concerns with him
January 12, 20214 yr 2 minutes ago, Godfather said: There's a few I wouldn't trade and Goedert would be one Think big picture. Look at the cap situation. Look at the number of holes on the team. Then look at the contracts top tight ends are getting. Goedert COULD be looking at $60 million after next year. I would much rather get something back instead of watching him walk. A top 5 salary tight end is not the difference in this team being good or not.
January 12, 20214 yr Well, 2013 was a really bad year to be at the top of the draft. They even had no clue wtf they were doing and were set on Dion Jordan. And they ended up with the best draft pick they've made in the 7 years since and arguably the best player from the top 10 of that draft, easily worth the #4 pick in any draft. If a broken clock is right twice per decade, we are due.
