I have heard some draft podcasts refer to Chase as a mix of Amari Cooper and Dez Bryant. He does it all.

If Chase is a master contested catch and physicality guy...at 6'...I have concerns.

AJ Terrell was a 1st round CB, and JaMar Chase ruined his draft stock for many after the way he smoked him all night in the national championship game last year. 

Looking back on the highlights of that game, youll likely much prefer Smith. Terrell didnt often have terrible coverage. Chase just made the plays. Terrell was a very good player who gave up a big night but usually not a ton of separation.

I think NFL Execs will not like that he only has one year of production.   Having a second year of production would make him a safer pick.  As it stands now, he has only one year of production and is a year removed from the game.   I thought he was the best WR in the NCAA last year.  But, Smith was in that discussion last year, and now he's really put a stamp on it.  I don't see how a team could put Chase over Smith... except for his slight build.  But, in today's NFL I see that as a far less important thing now.

Based on the press conference I’m expecting a trade down. They’re going to take a page out of the 6ers process IMO. Not as long spent or extreme, but same premise. Lurie calling Wentz an asset was a bit of a give away to me.

I think they sell the HC position as a long term project with high job security. Basically say, hey, first year is a wash, take a look at the players, figure out who you want to keep, and implement your system. Meanwhile they take the cap problems on the chin and build up draft resources. Then the coach can either keep Wentz/Hurts or trade them next offseason and go get the new coach his hand picked guy at QB.

Sounds like I would.  I see separation as reliable and repeatable...making big plays in coverage gets more erratic at higher levels.

I'm not saying there are.  But, when you stack up the WRs... its hard to put Chase over Smith after this season.   I'm not suggesting that Chase drops even to the #3 WR.  But, I think he's clearly the #2 now, but will still be a consensus top 10 pick.  He might even be a top 5, if teams don't like the QBs.  I don't personally see 3 top 5 QBs in this draft... but, then again, its the QB position, so teams get silly.

may be true. But Im not sure he would have had a great season with that LSU team this year. Im not saying Burrow made him. But he benefitted from that level of QB play. And this year he would have had the type of QB play Reagor experienced at TCU, and Philly. I bet he would have hurt his stock more by playing this year actually.

When I actually watch these guys, I have a feeling I’m not going to be a Chase fan.

With the enormous pressure on the Eagles for passing up probowl WRs, I don’t think they’ll be able to actually trade out of a position with Chase on the board.  They’ll be aware that if Chase goes to the probowl as a rookie, novacare is gonna look like the US capitol last week.

I have a gut feeling they're going to trade back as well. It's the smart move when you look at this roster and see how old and devoid of talent they are. 

However, there is no way they can feel comfortable going into next season with this WR group.
