I’ve been on the Robby Anderson bandwagon for like three years. I was the person all off-season last year saying you should sign Robby Anderson because his price kept dropping the longer he sat out there. I have no clue if he would’ve used him properly but I do know Anderson tends to play 15 or more games every single year and even with Sam Darnold and worse QBs as his QB and Adam Gase as his head coach he put up decent numbers

Dude... we had Alshon coming back.  And Desean was due to to play more than the 2 games from last year.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I've seen some on TV saying that Doug should be a top candidate for one of the HC openings available.

My guess is he doesnt get hired by anyone.  The league knows he's stupid and has seen how terrible his offense looks.  Not to mention all the PC and interviews he does you can tell he's a moron and doesnt know what he's doing or talking about.

He’ll get a job if he wants it. I don’t see 7 better candidates out there.

Idk i bet he gets a job. There was also a rumor about him and the Texans as well. Don’t get me wrong  I think his Super Bowl year is an outlier on his resume. But I do think he is a solid coach. I just don’t think he’s going to be a great coach. I wouldn’t be shocked if he has success elsewhere but not sustained success where he’s making the playoffs every year. Frankly the Eagles were super fortunate Kirk cousins lost a week 17 game to the Bears with nothing to play for and they were lucky to play in the worst division in football in 2019

Does this game put Devonta ahead of JaMarr?

Just an opinion here, but think the Dolphins might take him at 3. But it's real close. Chase really hurt his stock sitting out the season.

Eh players like him and he won a super bowl. He’ll get a shot. The Jets is probably most likely.

Seriously?  Only one I can see is the Jets because Douglas is there.

How do you call someone a moron when they win a super bowl lol

I don’t think he hurt it at all. LSU was like the varsity being replaced by the JV squad this year.

Lol. I remember Before week one I had the discussion with somebody on the blog who was telling me the wide receiver group was going to be better this year than they were the previous year. I said just because you have more talent in the room does not mean you’re going to be better. Until they prove it i can’t say they are definitively better. Can’t rely on old veterans who tend to get hurt and three rookie wide receivers and Jjaw needed a full off-season of team activities to get him at least up to speed and likely still a bust. Back then I said they were a bottom five wide receiving corps, they are still a bottom five wide receiving corps.

You ever listen to him talk?

Doug needs to find himself a Mike Tomlin situation.  Find yourself a talented team with someone in place who knows how to draft.

Find some coordinators who are better with X’s and O’s than you are to handle the scheme.

Be the leader, manage the egos, and just captain the ship that someone else designed, someone else staffed, and someone else is steering.

There’s a role for coaches like that, just need the right situation.

I bet Doug is a Jet

Who gets the ice cream machine in this divorce?

Howie gets chocolate cause he doesn’t care if it’s vanilla or chocolate. And doug gets vanilla as it’s his favorite and Lurie doesn’t want to be spiteful

Not to be a football socialist, but the NCAA is doing something wrong when Alabama’s 2nd string is still by far better than any other team in CFB.

They could probably field 3 separate top 10 starting lineups.

They need to do something to disincentivize top prospects from across the country from congregating in one place for a celebrity HC.  It’s not like any of them want to live in Alabama for 3 years.  At least it made sense when Miami and USC were the flavor of the month.

I was just thinking,  people complain about the NBA because it's always the same few super teams winning the finals.

Look what we have in college football.  Alabama, every year.  Usually joined by one of a few rotating teams-OSU, LSU and Clemson.

And you get to the championship game,  and is so lopsided,  it's not worth watching.

People complain the NFL is unwatchable because of officiating making games unwatchable.  College rules result in every game being a 4.5 hour affair. That's also unwatchable.

When 95% of the games are complete mismatches,  who wants to watch a 4.5 hour blowout constantly?

It's a sucky product.

Needs paid players and a salary cap. And we can't be stopping the clock on every 1st down.

Ain't nobody got time for that.

Yea. Re-tread coaches always get over valued. Who else is out there besides Bieniemy, Daboll, Smith and Saleh getting top HC buzz? Jason Garrett is getting interviews for Christ’s sake

Does Mike Tomlin call his own plays? I normally don’t agree with Mike miss but I think he has a point when he says doug is not as quick on his feet as he needs to be to do the playcalling. I think that’s a huge problem for doug. It’s why I think you see the Eagles have plays called in late and they don’t really build upon the plays that they call it’s more like they just pick it out of a hat cause it’s in the playbook. I think you have to be two or three plays ahead of the defense and unfortunately I don’t think Doug is as quick thinking as he is motivating and having guys stay together and play hard

That's true. And probably not worth the injury risk that comes with that. Both will go Top 10.

I wouldn’t rule the Chargers out for Doug. I could see them being in awe of his Super Bowl year and wanting someone with credibility

Are we sure howie won’t blame the scouts if lurie doesn’t like the strawberry or brand?

Urban Meyer and Reggie bush on fox actually discussed this very thing. I wish i had the link for it but they basically talk about what you just did.

I'd root for ND over them.

Factor in the Bob Lamonte connection. That puts Chargers as well as Texans in play.

That’s a stretch

I thought the reporters did a pretty good job of challenging Lurie, but there was one massive inconsistency in Lurie’s story that the media did not hit on:

Lurie tried to insist that he was not a meddlesome owner who would involve himself in anything but decisions of regime changes from 20,000’.

However...it’s very clear that Lurie did not initially plan to fire Doug.  He wasn’t a black Monday casualty.  He met with the media side by side with Howie.  Doug got fired in a semi delayed fashion because he would not go along with Lurie’s specific plan, not because he "deserved to be fired.”  Lurie’s exact words.

The entire premise of his preamble in the conference was a giant contradiction.
