Surprised Newman got waived, do we even have a 3rd string QB on the roster now?

We'll have Flacco play 3rd string now that we opened a spot for Watson

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Oh man just saw his pic...

I’m sure he’s real gritty, deceptively fast, slot guy, ya know, real Wes Welker type. His dad was probably his coach too,

Surprised that dude isn't already on the Patriots

Trevon Grimes?  I guess the Eagles weren't as high on him as a lot of fans were.

He had a knee surgery right after getting signed, must have been more serious than he was letting on.

Surprised about the Newman release, be interesting to see who they bring in to be the 3rd QB.

As for Tate surprised he wasnt released along time ago

Life comes at you fast

Must be some character/work ethic thing with Newman, no way they give up on a QB prospect this quick, especially with no immediate replacement on the roster.

At this point, the pandemic portion of the virus in the U.S. is basically over.  If a person understands the risks associated with Covid and does not want to get a vaccine, why pressure anyone to do so?   Herd immunity will still work just fine with at least 70% of the population having some sort of resistance to it.  And tbh, at this point, if someone is not vaccinated and gets the virus, they would also "help" with herd immunity since they would have some sort of resistance to it.  My 2  cents.

Poor Newman. All he got from his time with the Eagles was a lousy T-Shirt

It keeps you from getting sick, protects others, and limits the opportunities for more dangerous variants to emerge.

Yeah, it really isn't complicated.

lol

TBH. it's not that surprising they are making cuts now.  They have a plethora of drafted rookies that would likely get a much longer leash in camp vs an UDFA.  In a way, they likely did some of these players favors cutting them this early so that they can go try out for another team prior to the season.

Fair enough except we haven't reached 70% yet As far as I know

If everybody thinks like the above then they remove responsibility from them selves and depend on and expect others to take it on and then no one gets vaccinated.

If one isn't part of the solution one is part of the problem, vaccination is a solution, not getting vaccinated is not a solution

I agree.  I'm not an "anti-vaxer".  But at this point, if they know the risks associated with the virus and do not get the vaccine, that's on them, imo.

Bottom of the roster churning isn't surprising but cutting the 3rd QB is. They will have to sign at least 1 if not 2 other guys just for TC reps and to play the preseason games. I can't see Hurts or even Flacco playing extended time in these PS games.

Whose left at this point, I imagine they'll really be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Welp, so much for all of that Grimes hype.  Now, did he get waived with the injury designation allowing him to be IR'd?  Is that how it works?

Big fan of his , they have him starting outside

Still laughable that we need a vaccine with a 99% survival rate and 99.999999 survival rate when you have no underlying medical issues. But again, that's science we dont talk about.

600,000 say otherwise

Well, if they don't get the vaccine but then get the virus, they would be part of the solution, since they would develop anti-bodies to the virus.  But if you're not going to get the vaccine, please don't wear a mask so that the rest of society can move forward.  ;)

I know that sounds cynical but at this point, after what the world has been through with this virus, do we really need to stress over "anti-vaxers"?  If they're not convinced by now, when will they be?

Beats me. As far as rookies, Newman and Franks were the only two really UDFA developmental guys I can think of and Franks is the #2 in Atlanta so he's probably not going anywhere.

Free agents there's some guys you could just bring in for camp arms. Barkley, Josh Johnson, RGIII, Nick Mullens. Part of it that's so hard is I have no idea what they are really looking for in a QB since they signed a polar opposite of Hurts in Flacco.

If no one claims him he goes on IR

Herd immunity will not work at 70%

experts now calculate the herd immunity threshold to be at least 80 percent. If even more contagious variants develop, or if scientists find that immunized people can still transmit the virus, the calculation will have to be revised upward again

You think you tripping over yourself the last few days and being dead wrong on more and more topics is "relevant"?  Although I agree with you on the Covid discussion.  It just shows how senseless it can be can be when you go back and forth with a troglodyte like SteelerPhanBacarty.....
