Don’t you sometimes get the immobilizer treatment for a few days after very minor procedures?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

From what I've read, most viruses do not "want" to kill their hosts.  Most viruses want to spread as much as possible so that the virus itself continues on.   If there are new strains, the likelihood of it being less deadly but more contagious is greater than a new strain being more deadly vs contagious.  The natural course of a virus (if it mutates) would be to "save itself" by becoming more contagious but less severe.  That's just in general.

We don't know what will happen with Covid but as of now, the vaccine is working and seems to have basically put an end to the "pandemic portion" of this virus in the US.  And everything I've read about Covid (from experts, etc) basically states that this particular virus (the way it's "designed") can only mutate to maybe one or two more variants. (Other than the current 2-3 variants).

Viruses don't "want" to do anything. Rather, you have billions of mutations, most of which do nothing, but some will create a strain that is more contagious, which is likely to be more deadly because the two are correlated, what makes it more contagious is a higher viral load in the host, which also makes it more dangerous. And other mutations may change the mechanism of infection, which might cause it to be dangerous in different ways. It's sort of rolling biological dice, eventually with billlions of hosts, and trillions of viruses mutating, every possible permutation will be tried.

You just don't know, and viruses can swap DNA, so it's possible that somewhere in South America, the coronavirus and another virus swap enough DNA to create a new virus that's far deadlier.

Right now deadly variants are infecting people who had the first wave of COVID in both Brazil and India, and those strains have arrived in the US. Because it's winter in the Southern Hemisphere, that's where the most deadly wave is currently hitting, but come October (only 4 months away, with class rooms filled), if we've only vaccinated 60% and infected unvaccinated people are vulnerable, look for another wave with possibly a higher death rate for younger people.

Trevon Grimes?  I guess the Eagles weren't as high on him as a lot of fans were.

Newman?  So who is the #3 QB in TC?

No, the difference is Cooper has had lingering injury issues for a few years. They drafted Lamb knowing Cooper probably won't be a Cowboy for very long. Not every starter on your team has the injury history as Cooper.

25-year-old who's played at least 14 games every year of his career is this massive injury risk worth spending the 17th overall pick to replace?

He'll be 27 in a week. If you can't see that his availability will be a major question going forward, I don't know what to say.

Nevermind that Cooper doesn't make a lot of sense for them financially going forward after Dak's huge contract.

If you're Dallas, why pay almost $20M $22M/year for Cooper who's durability is a concern, when you can draft Lamb?

In none of Newman's highlights did I see him throw to a 2nd read. Throws a pretty ball, but I didn't see any reads.

No idea, but since they paid him 3rd most of the UDFA’s to sign I’d think they would keep him around if it was just minor.

Obviously, he was a year younger a year ago when they drafted Lamb 🤦‍♂️.

And Cooper was coming off a 16-game, 1100+ yard season, and the Cowboys had recently spent a 1st rounder for him and signed him to a massive extension. Spending a first rounder to replace him 2 or 3 years down the road is a luxury pick. So obvious and your ridiculous overthinking of it is hurting my brain.

Not really. You're always drafting ahead. The best teams are prepared when a player departs. You don't want to wait until Cooper leaves to replace him. Plus, they could use Lamb now. Cooper is always dealing with a foot or ankle injury. Gallup is a real good #2, but not a #1. Lamb made plenty of sense.

Not really. Cooper is never healthy. Would you want Gallup as your #1 and only legit option?

Is Lamb getting injured too or something?

Yeah, if Lamb wasn't drafted, you wouldn't count him as an option...

That's the whole point of why I said drafting Lamb made sense......

Thought this was hilarious of Stoutland responding to McLane who’s trying to stir the pot again

Stout let it slip at the end though that he actually does know some of the stuff that went on. I think in 5-10 years there will be some fascinating stories.

He made sense becuase he was BPA and is going to be a great player in this league for a long time and it also hurt a division rival.  But they really needed defensive help at the same time.

Sure. Unfortunately for them, they could only take one player with that pick. And go ahead and look at the defensive players drafted after Lamb, there weren't any slam dunks. Lamb fell into their laps, and they were smart to turn in the card.

The argument just comes down to how you feel about Cooper. If you think he'll be relatively healthy and he's worth the $22M per (and can budget it), then Lamb is maybe a luxury. Though the board fell for them to take Lamb, and sometimes you do that regardless. If you don't feel great about Cooper's future on the Cowboys, Lamb made all the sense in the world.

Sure, and Lamb was probably the best player available.

Maybe I’m just numb to our past few years but Gallup as an emergency #1 doesn’t sound so bad

It was a disappointing season for Flyers fans, but at least the Bruins have been eliminated. Schadenfreude!

Grimes had a real chance to win a Nasty Nate award.

Not sure we have anyone for that critical role now.  They just waived the other 2 guys that had a shot.

I agree with getting the vaccine, but stop.  You have no idea what you are talking about.
