The fact that Howie traded for him, knowing a rebuild was happening the following year is another black eye for Howie.

He didn't know a rebuild was happening. Because he can't see the writing on the wall for crap

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Rookie contracts updated on OTC.

On March 4th when I started tracking this, all I heard was don't worry, the Eagles have 73 million in cap space for 2022.

Today, June 11th, the Eagles have 12.84 million in 2022 cap space.

On that same day March 4th, the Eagles had 136.8 million in 2023 cap space.

Today, June 11th, the Eagles have 79.9 million in 2023 cap space.

Taking out the rookie contracts, Howie's restructuring has had a negative cap impact for 2022-2023 of 97.5 million.

He kicks the can, he continues to kick the can and all he's doing is making a mess for the poor guy who one day takes over from him.

Falcons just took the lead on 2022 dead cap from us. Howie has his work to do to get it back.

Just looking at that, Matt Ryan has a cap hit of 48.6 million next year.

We're fine there.

The face when you already have 53 players signed to 2022 so you don't even need the cap space

Figure It Out, Howie Roseman - The Liberty Line

I would say: "The face when you know you have a lifetime appointment regardless of your failures."

That is not correct, you have dummy years for Flacco, Harris, Wilson, McLeod and Kerrigan.  So only 48 players are on the roster of the 53 with a cap hit.

I was joking anyway. But didn't know OTC still counts them as signed for 2022, that's weird. Ertz as well, so 47? Going to need to dip into 2023/2024 now.

And as you can see from my post above, that is not the way to do it.  Howie absolutely devastated the Eagles cap situation with his mismanagement.

Not sure if the typical people listing Hurts as the most disappointing prediction is because he will perform lower than their very low expectations of him or because he will perform well which will disappoint them due to all the obsessive hating they have been doing on him in this blog.

I've yet to see anyone obsessively hating him.

Either way is an indictment.   If he knew a rebuild was necessary, as some people around here try to argue, then it was incompetent to make that trade and overpay for a CB right before hitting that magic #30.  And if he didn't know that this team desperately needed to get younger and cheaper, then he is equally incompetent.

Meh...  we're fine there... Howie knows what he's doing.   Just gotta remove the deadwood.

Ertz move coming ??????????

I thought Dick Rod was a goner after they gave out his jersey number. Not thrilled with it, but whatever, he's a fine #2 TE.

Who knows.  The truth of the matter is the Eagles tight end situation is extremely murky.  I posted about it before but there's a chance Ertz and Goedert are gone next year.

I think they would tag Goedert at least once before letting him leave.

It's possible.  2022 franchise tag for TE is looking to be $10 millionish.

Eh...we need a 3rd TE is Ertz stays.

I'm starting to think Howie's insane plan is to keep Ertz to help limit Goedert's numbers in an attempt to sign him for less. Then get the comp pick for Ertz.

Of course, Goedert's agent will see right through it. But it's too cute by half -- i.e., classic Howie.

New coaching staff Howie brings in the same guys.👎

Having said that I'm ok with D Rod, he's not horrible, wish he was a better blocker.

Agreed. He's not horrible BUT I think I would rather give snaps to younger guys. We need to find a long term #2.
