He was pulled from the Redskins game because Doug was in full tank mode and didn't want to risk winning it since the Eagles offense was making plays while the Redskins offense had completely died at that point.

I have already proven this false.  After the Eagles took a 14-10 lead, what about the next 4 possessions ( end of half excluded ) shown below tells you that Hurts was gonna win that game ??  21 plays for 48 yards, Hurts was 2 for 11 passing for 7 yards.  There is absolutely nothing that shows Hurst was going to win that game.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Interesting question, I would have to go with Westbrook goes down at the 1.  It was the right thing to do.

Mills on Julio on the 4th down play in the divisional round. Julio slipped, and then the ball was so badly thrown he would have landed out of bounds if he even caught it. Mills didn't really do anything.

Miracle at the Meadowlands.

Honestly I hate agreeing with RTK but Philly Philly probably wasn’t biggest/most impactful play of the game. Its definitely not most overrated. It was an impressive play, and a historic play, But I’d say the Ertz TD in the Super Bowl was the most impactful play,

Most overrated player is Cunningham, so it should be something from him

Well it wasn't a good defensive play but it was a sign from the Football Gods.

The 3rd drive they moved the ball down the field.  4th drive they should have gone for a field goal but Doug was in full on throwing the game mode.  Nate Sudfeld is absolute garbage, came in and immediately threw an interception.  Doug 100% was throwing the game.  I have no issue with it because it was the smart thing to do for draft position purposes.  But he 100% was purposely eliminating any chances the Eagles had to win that game.

Let's try something here since you claim you don't hate on Hurts even though every post you ever make about him is seething with negativity.  I challenge you to say something positive about Hurts as a QB and do so in a way that isn't backhanded.

In what bizarro world is "4th and 26” overrated? It was a phenomenal play. Bad defensive play call, maybe.. but perfect throw and catch in traffic with two defenders. It’s one of the best plays in eagles history, behind a bunch of Nick Foles’ throws in the super bowl.

Unpopular (possibly) opinion:

Keep Ertz and Rod. Trade Goedert. Look for a TE in the draft next season.

I stopped at Keep Ertz.  He needs to go.

Does Sirianni run an offense that features a lot of TE centric plays in the passing game?

Or are they more for blocking and the occasional chunk play?

Yeah, always a wise move to put yourself in a position where you are forced to then be drafting for a need.

It can be, yeah.

We're already tight on cap space moving forward. Would rather not spend it on Goedert who has questionable hands and is good, albeit not the player this fanbase makes him out to be.

Now, before you go "Well if he's not that good, he won't make much money" I'd advise looking at recent TE contracts.

I understand this thought process, too. Not saying it's wrong, but Goedert is going to cost us a pretty penny that we don't really have.

Generally about 130 targets or so per season for all TE between 2018 and 2020 in IND, so I'd say not overly.

If it's similar to Indy, they are about league average. TE's last year for them had roughly 8 targets a game (compared to Philly who was 14-15 per game). They were in 12 personnel 21% of the time which put them at 16th around the league. I think Nick might use 12 even less than that being he's a WR's guy.

Can Goedert be a core player as part of a nucleus?  To make that decision you have to give him a chance to produce as a TE1 (80-90 receptions) and he won't have a chance to do that with Ertz here.  Ertz is over 30 and either didn't care last season, or he's really degrading.

To be honest, I'm not sure that he can. Even without Ertz here.

If that's the case is there a scenario where Ertz is released (maybe traded) and Goedert is traded before trade deadline

Dick Rod and then best two young UDFA or SFA of the group

Are we sure Goedert can stay healthy enough to be TE1? Seems like he's always showing up on the injury report.

He is a top 10 tight end in the league just about to enter his prime with potential of being a top 3-5 TE in the league.  No idea where this questionable hands absurdity comes from, he has made some of the most impressive catches for anyone on this team over the years.  He's also a great blocker.

Welcome aboard.  Next years TE FA class is absolutely stacked too.  I can see TE salaries going through the roof.  DG isn't going to be worth the contract he wants and the Eagles well in better cap shape will still have limited funds and holes to fill and more important players to extend.

They've already put themselves in that position.  The TE cupboard is bare.

Drafting a developmental backup TE in the midrounds to play behind Goedert is a far better position to be in than heading into 2022 needing to land a TE in the draft with teams knowing that's a hole and not letting you address the other needs you already have on the team going forward.
