I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

It’s a transient area. Most of the people who live there are from up north somewhere and root for other teams. That’s what it seems like the few times I’ve been in that area.

What does that even mean ? Other great QBs out there who don’t have TEs or WOs catching 11TDs , he has to get open. He has to catch it , that is a receiver thing .

per packers site

Rodgers has an astronomical 150.3 passer rating when targeting Tonyan, who has caught 41 of his 47 targets. Of the Packers’ 55 plays of 20 yards or more this season, 48 of them have been passes, and of those, Tonyan has accounted for nine. Only Adams (13) has more.

Of course Tonyan deserves credit, but he didn't do it all on his own in the sense that it's not easily repeatable. It's a product of great scheme, overall great team play, and the MVP of the NFL. Tonyan was put in as good a position as any player can be.

Goedert is an ascending player, Ertz is not and is on a big contract.  While Goedert has to stay healthy, his best years are in front of him and the coaching staff are reportedly high on what he can do - it's fair to say Doug's system didn't consistently get the best out of him.  Big season for Goedert.

As for Eriksen, very scary to see a very healthy footballer stagger, collapse and go limp on the floor with no visible cause.  Not nice to see but glad to see he is stable.

Goedert is a top-10 TE, easy. He just needs to stay healthy.

Seems we say that for everyone

Lol so Bell is blaming everyone but himself for his bad couple of seasons

It sucks because that area does not give a flying F about sports unless their teams are good. Lightning fans prior to a couple seasons ago had been MIA since they won the cup in 04. Rays fans were invisible until 2008, then went into hiding again until recently. Bucs fans, silent for years then tom Brady shows up and everyone is a bucs fan again. That city doesn't deserve the success it has had.

Coming from someone who lived in the area for years and saw first hand how fickle those fanbases are. I only know a few die hards for each sport, I know even fewer people who like every team or even 2/3.

Last TE to play with Rodgers to have double digit  TDs on 3.9 targets per game ?

Tonyan deserves credit, no doubt. But a lot of his success is set up by LaFleur, that run game (and play action), and Rodgers throwing darts.

A lot of TEs would have had that success.

Yea sure , because TEs have been catching dbl digit TDs on 3.9 targets  , under great coaching and star QBs , every year ,

why do you think Rodgers  rating is 150 when throwing to Tonyan ?

Because GB dials up the play action to Tonyan at the right time.

Nothing to do with him getting open and catching the ball

Per espn

Throw the ball to Robert Tonyan and there's a good chance -- an 88.5% chance to be exact -- he's going to catch it. In that regard, the Green Bay Packers have the most effective tight end in the NFL.

After years of searching -- and money wasted and draft picks spent -- the Packers finally have a dynamic weapon at the position.

Tonyan's catch percentage leads all NFL tight ends, according to ESPN Stats & Information, and it's not even that close. He's been targeted 52 times, and he's caught 46 of them. There's only one other tight end who has a catch rate better than 76%, and that's the Indianapolis Colts' Mo-Alie Cox at 80%, but he's only been targeted 35 times.

Not sure if any of you watch the series Dark Side of Football on Vice but there is an episode coming up about fanatics and the rivalry between Dallas and Philadelphia.  Think it aires on 6/17.

Boston

The 3rd and 4th TEs will be crucial for us playing because there will be plenty of playing time for the guys behind Dallas Gothurt and Rinjured Rodgers. Im pulling for Stoll.

We could use a 3rd QB. I liked him as a developmental prospect. They should switch him back.

10000%. I live less than 2 hours away from Tampa and in my 6 years being here I don’t think I have seen more than 10 Tampa sports teams hats or shirts or fans in general besides at the actual game. Before Tom Brady, Raymond James stadium made "premium games” for Eagles, Giants, Steelers, Patriots etc to charge more money for those games because they knew it would actually be close to a sell out because of the opponent. It’s a joke.

He is not suited for the closer role. Perhaps, he could be useful as a middle-inning or set-up man.

I’m not a Rays or Lighting fan  , but is Tampa the new title town ? Or champa bay as they have been called  , hard to argue the success over last few years of their teams .

2 championships in 20 years?  Yup you're right...or are we counting that participation trophy for UCF?
