How does Embiid at 7’0 go 4/20 from the field?  God forbid he should get to the basket.  Playing right into the opponent’s hand.  Too soft

Guy is playing on a torn meniscus and this clown calls him too soft.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Lance went #3, so I assume you mean Fields and Mac Jones.

Fields also went before #12…. I’m lost on that one

The Eagles could have drafted Fields at #10, though.  Thank heaven they didn’t — that would have been an organization-wrecking selection.

Wow... Dave Zangaro is running out of things to write about... 6 players who have Pro Bowl potential for the Eagles this season...

Dallas Goedert.   Ok.  Not a huge step out on this one.  He has flashed that kind of ability, so sure, he has that level of potential.

Miles Sanders.  This seems a bit more of a stretch to me, but fine.  He does have the ability to take it to the house from anywhere on the field, but this would be a massive jump for a guy yet to crack 900 rushing yards in a season.

Davonta Smith.  This is just low hanging fruit.  Heisman Trophy winning, National Champion, and first round pick WR who has virtually no competition to steal targets from him.

Then it just gets silly.  He'd have been better off sticking with a list of 3 than trying to expand it to twice that number.

He puts Jalen Hurts as the #4 option?  Wow.  That would be quite a leap.  Forget about the fact that there Qbs in the NFC that will get name recognition ahead of him.  Brady, Rodgers (maybe), Wilson lead the way and it would be an upset for a guy like Hurts to bump them off the pedestal.

Javon Hargrave.   Here's a guy that might have been better listed at #2.  IF he can play like he did down the stretch last year, maybe.  He'd need to play at near Pro Bowl level to live up to his contract though, now wouldn't he?

And finally.... Josh Sweat?   Another wow.  Here's a guy that's currently #3 on the depth chart at DE and hasn't played even close to 50% of the snaps in any given game... but now he's going to put up double digit sacks and get a Pro Bowl birth?    Maybe he should have just shortened his list.  It's not like having a list of '6' is really better  than '5', '4' or even '3'.

For my money, first time Pro Bowlers on this roster for 2021 could be Goedert, Hargrave, and Sanders.   Smith is a long shot.  He will be the focus of the defenses lining up against the Eagles.  Meaning, he's likely going to garner a lot of attention and Hurts isn't known for hitting receivers in tight windows.  He should be better than Reagor was last year, but its doubtful he's anything close to what Justin Jefferson (sigh) was for the Vikings.  And how frequently are rookie WRs Pro Bowlers?   It's pretty rare.  Hurts and Sweat just seem like names thrown out there to get to 6.  But, why 6?

I feel like even Hargrave is a stretch. Pro-Bowls usually lag for guys that have good to great seasons but aren’t household names. I think he’d have to have a monster season just to get considered past the usual guys like Donald, Cox and Jarrett.

I’d say Harris has potential if he has a year like he did in 2019. Barnett over Sweat also.

I think he’ll be better than Hurts but not better enough to waste a top 10 pick

If Hurts is bad this season I think (hope) the Eagles would move on.  Fields being a top 10 pick would mean being stuck with 4-5 years of bad QB play.

Sorry but embiid is soft but so is the team and the rest of nba

This is why Philadelphia fans don't deserve the sports greatness that other cities get to expierence.

Athletic freaks who flashed the year before are pretty natural breakout candidates. Don't know why he felt confident in going out on a limb for Sweat but not Mailata.

Goedert, Sanders, and Smith are the clearest choices though. With a viable CB2 across from him, I'd put Slay here too. I predict a massive jump from him in Gannon's scheme.

Speaking of Sweat, has there ever been a definitive report on the long-term outlook of his knee?

Flacco's 100 years old

Mullens had 4700 yards and 25 touchdowns

Hurts is on pace for 4000 yards and 24 touchdowns

The problem with this board, and hoagie mouth Eagle fans in general are they believe the media hype of Hurts. He's TERRIBLE he looked terrible last year. he was sold to use as a complete reach but a really good back up but yet because the media and the eagles have sold him to us as the next guy(even though they wanted to keep wentz, they tried to trade for Zach Wilson and have been in the Deshaun Watson talk you guys believe it.

Hope you’re eating your words in October Primanti Bros breath

Both too many turnovers and both 6’1. Hurts ran for more than the difference. Both can improve but Hurts more so. I expect improved play throughout the offense with Hurts being the biggest question mark given the small sample size

this i agree with. 97.5 has done a really bad job of finding new talent.

I like Andrew Salchunnis(speeling) and thats about it.

Well i dont mind Kinkad but Bob and "da bro" are brutal. Egan's smart alleck schtick is tiresome.  Mikey Miss and Tyrone are brutal.

Missanelli is the only guy I would go out of my way to listen to

Not sure if this was posted in here earlier, but what an absolutely crazy stat:

I don’t think he’s soft. Playing with the injury he is there’s going to be bad games just due to pain and discomfort. That said on his layup, he should’ve went and dunked the crap out of it. I get the meniscus but he was dunking left and right in game 3. He takes a power dribble and dunks that home instead of trying for the layup the sixers might have won that game.

that said embiid said his knee was bothering him tonight and only one night off til game 5. Add on that game was eerily similar to how the clippers blew their games to the nuggets in the bubble with doc as head coach.

Hey everyone, I know that it's difficult at times to leave politics out of a conversation, but let's try to leave politics out of every forum here, except CVON. That's why CVON is over there.

Ever since we switched from the old EMB to the New EMB, I've left politics alone for 99.99999% of the time because it's really not my place to get into those discussions anymore and I'll tell you, life is SO MUCH more enjoyable when you set all of that noise aside.

You can't entirely get away from that stuff, and you shouldn't (you need to stay informed, regardless of your political views), but have some places where you can turn that stuff off. Like TATE or other sections of the board (other than CVON).

Take it to cvon...................................newb!!!!!!

Slay is already a 3 time Pro Bowler, this was about first time guys.

But "breakout" is generally not the same as Pro Bowler.  As mentioned earlier by someone, Pro Bowls usually lag behind as established names are hard to overcome at first.  But Sweat isn't even a starter right now, which makes him a less likely candidate to be a Pro Bowler.

His contract is fully guaranteed besides the incentives. He’s not going anywhere

Remember in the old days when stuff like this mattered. Now we take 30 million dollars hits and sniff, fart, and move on

Drafting Hurts at two had the same affect so.......................par for the course

Sixers choked, game was in their hands quite a few times at the end of the 4th. Haven't watched b-ball for a few years and I was happy to watch them in the playoffs but they gotta get their heads outta their butts.

I mean c'mon Embiid dunk that crap!

Is a big part of Trae Young's game running into bigger men, falling over while waving his arms about and asking the referees for a foul?  I am surprised that referees put up with his yapping - he's a little dog barking at the postman or a bird outside.

Good call, read that one too fast.

Fair point on Pro Bowls lagging behind Pro Bowl worthy production. I don't think he's a poor option if you're looking to write about a wild card type PB candidate. Only guys you could really rationalize are him or Mailata.

All the stars do it , Embid was crying about fouls last night , then you have league MVP ejected  for nothing , sure it was a frustration foul , but not worthy of a ejection .

Good morning.
