Foul shooting is not supposed to be hard.

Back in high school I hated foul shots, but then again I'm not a professional basketball player

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I suck at FTs and I also don't practice them all day, but you can bet if I were getting paid a million dollars to make them I'd make more than 4-11

This conversation came up because we're talking about goalies from 37 years ago and Joni Piktanen from 2004. So essentially the Morin Draft was yesterday. Not to mention Morin is only 25.

Sanheim is a -28 in over 4 years. more than enough sample size to show you he's DEF not a top pair guy, and PROBABLY not a top 4 guy.

The Friedman comment was quasi sarcastic but would fit Philly perfectly. Draft him some what early, give up on him some what early and he becomes successful with a rival.

And it's laughable that you think the worse defense in the league had 3/4 top 4 defensemen. If this team had 2 good pairs. (as you say) they would of been in the playoffs with ease.

And yes, York I'm excited for. Zamula is like 145lbs soaking wet so who knows what we got there

Sanhiem, Morin and Ghost are the Flyers big 3.

Just now, Bacarty2 said:

No one in the league wanted Ghost(twice) but I'd bet the majority of teams would kill for Ben. but please... keep going.

Yes most teams would kill for Ben. The offensive juggernaut who is an above average free throw shooter that crushes it in the playoffs. He is definitely the Big 2 of our Big 3. Tobi is also killing it. What a Big 3 he is. His max contract says so.

Simmons should go somewhere like New Orleans or Charlotte where he can just play for funsies and focus on his brand and not have to worry about expectations of actually winning anything.

No, the national media, the local media, the local bloggers, the people who write basketball articles for a living, the majority of the fan base call him part of the big 3.

and yes, Ben  is laughable on the offensive side of the ball but I will gurantdamntee that he'd get claimed off waivers in a heart beat.

The majority of the fan base hahahhahahahahahaha

So, who was worse: Simmons or Harris?

Good luck with that Jordan

That should make him run a 7 second 40.

He could be a blocking tight end I guess

Triple headers at the Palestra and as far as Penn still bitter about the 90-47 loss to Villanova in 1971...

That game still bothers me to this day. And it's hard to explain to people now that the team that lost by 43 points was actually the better team and that the result was an upset. It doesn't make sense.

So if you asked 100 6ers fan at the game last night to name me the big 3 for the sixers, 51 of them wouldnt Say Ben/Jo/Harris?

the best part is, if you asked REALLY knowledgeable basketball fans like your self to rank every big 3 in the league, I bet they'd finish top 5 in that voting.

I’m not claiming to be very knowledgeable. That’s the point. Most Sixers fan would laugh at that question.

Just now, Bacarty2 said:

Majority of the fans would rattle off Ben, Jo and Harris and give you a look why you asked a dumb question.

That’s hilarious.

This is a weird hill for you to die on espicially when you're in the extreme minority both locally and nationally.

Let me ask you this... name me 8 teams who have a better big 3 then the 6ers.

Stop talking basketball. You’re making my ears bleed.

Lmao +/-, now I definitely know you have no idea what you're talking about.

Sanheim and provorov had multiple years of success at the NHL level and then last year happened When everyone on the team except for farabee regressed. Myers has had less of a track record before last year but you think he's better than sanheim?

Morin is so irrelevant to this team considering they've drafted what, 5 more defensemen since him? One of which was actually chosen to be that cornerstone (provorov) and unfortunately he looks to just be a good #2.

They made the playoffs with ease last season, or did you already forget because everyone sucks now? The conversation started because of course people say Hart sucks now, again after only one year. The entire team was terrible, it is completely idiotic to write off anybody after this one season, and yet people keep doing it. But go off, the whole team sucks and Sam Morin is our cornerstone defenseman despite playing like 30 NHL games in 7 years.

says the only guy in north America to not consider the #1 seed in the east, the 2nd best record in basketball to not have a big 3.

I'll do one better for you. name me 5 teams who have better big 3.

The Celtics Big 3 of Garnett, Walker, Allen and the Heat Big 3 of Lebron, Wade and Bosh.....those were the last time people used The Big 3 in NBA.

Only way to get better at shooting free throws is to shoot more free throws.

It’s not a difficult coaching job.

One of the great fallacies of all time, but shows up all the time. If you have a mechanical flaw in your shooting motion, shooting more free throws does nothing. Simmons has mechanical flaws at the release point,  as he is so inconsistent with the elbow/wrist movement. He also seems to have a mental issue about the shooting. He can be short and long with his shot in the same sequence. Shooting more free throws might help with the mental, but he needs a shooting coach with film to break down the mechanics and adjust. What I am seeing is pretty hard to fix.

Evan Turner, Jrue Holiday, Thad Young

Big 3

Practice makes permanent. Though so many believe practice makes perfect.

Practice does not make perfect....perfect practice make perfect....Simmons and his current release mechanics is quite the challenge....

Tell that to Lee Trevino and Jim Furyk.  Ugly golf swings -- they perfected them, they thrived.  Throw it under-handed -- perfect it and succeed.  Ball just needs to go in hoop.

One more word out of that crusty cake hole and we gonna go

Yup.  Harris had a bad game; Simmons is a fundamentally flawed player you cannot win with.  I said it since the first time I saw him play -- the only thing he does well from a scoring perspective is drive the basket and stuff it.  If he's unwilling to do that he shouldn't be on the floor.
