I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Joe Ostman will be Gannon's Darius Leonard.

One of the best things about McNabb being on the Redskins was the Monday Night Massacre.  59-28 I think was the score?  Thought we were going to drop 100 that night.

The same night that he signed this massive new contract with the Redskins too.  And it wasn't just the Vick game of his career but McNabb also threw a pick 6 at some point.

That would not be a good trade.

Merrill Reese has lost his mind.

Highlights from his recent interview include:

1. He’s never seen a WR in all 50 years that makes his jaw drop like DeVonta Smith. Weird take but he’s an Eagles PR guy so, ok, whatever.

2. Starters will play more in the preseason this year, despite an added 17th game, because they have a "bye week” between the last preseason game and first regular season game so that’s enough time to not worry about injuries. Lol.

3. Jalen Hurts should and will in his opinion play 9 out of 12 quarters this preseason. He needs all this playing to develop.

4. The starting O-line unit should not play much at all this preseason. Ok reasonable take. Reasoning is Jalen Hurts can’t develop behind a second string line properly so they need to be healthy.

So Jalen Hurts needs playing time to develop and needs a strong o line to properly develop, so let’s develop him predominantly behind the 2nd/3rd string line.

General Philly sports gripe:

Eagles draft receivers who can't receive (hopefully Smith breaks the spell) in a pass happy league

Sixers draft players who can't shoot in a shooting league

Flyers draft players who can't skate fast in a fast skating league

Phillies just can't draft and have perhaps the worst minor league system in the league.

Does Philly just make sports executives stupid?  Are cheesesteaks and the Jersey Shore bad for the brain?  Is it because Bookbinders closed and there is nowhere in town to hang the photos of the famous people smiling over a bowl of NE clam chowder?  Is it Rocky's fault?

OK it's out of my system.  Carry on with whether Avery and Ostman will successfully convert to LB.  Of course we all already know the answer: they won't.

I get not wanting your starters on Oline to get injured while also wanting Hurts to get as many snaps as he can. That risks injury on a team that has had some absolute horrible luck though

That was true before you said this yesterday and Stephen A put this out today.

That’s why you give Hurts the majority of reps in an organized setting without live hitting. Playing your starting QB for 3/4ths of the preseason games and then hoping he lasts 17 full games in insane. Then you double down on it by having him play behind Pryor, Opeta, Toth etc with live hitting and your just asking to get him killed

Stafford is 7th all time in 4th quarter comebacks behind only Manning, Brady, Brees, Big Ben, Unitas, Marino and Elway.

He could move into the top 5 this year.

Another case of afan thinking he is the smartest guy in the room when he clearly is not.

Given how many games he's played, he should be up there.

A QBs job is to run the offense, that means the best judge of a QB is neither his rating nor his W-L, since he doesn't play defense, but how well his offense plays given their talent level.

Stafford had decent talent in Detroit, not great, but not terrible, Megatron most of his career, a few other decent skill players, and a decent OL.

The problem with the Ram offense wasn't Goff, it was the decline in skill player talent, Eagle fans knew Peters was eventually going to fall off the proverbial cliff, so will Whitworth at some point, and that point ain't far away.

Why? Do you think thats news? Every 76ers fan has known that for years now.

He's an Eagles legend, but he needs to retire. It happens to all broadcasters; you lose the fastball. Reese is 78!

Rams have talent across the board.

Cam Akers and Darrel Henderson is as good as a RB1/RB2 as you can get in the NFL

Tyler Higbee is a legit TE1, not sure how the guys behind him stack up.  Higbee lit up the Eagles for what, 3 TDs last year?

Then you have the WR with Robert Woods, DJack, Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson.  They drafted TuTu Atwell this year to add to them.  DJack has the injury concerns but I have this feeling he puts up 800 yards and 9 TD easily this year.  I'll take that WR group over the Eagles any day of the week.

I was wondering where UVA QB Bryce Perkins went.  I liked his game a lot in college.  He's got a great coach to help him reach his full potential.

They have more than enough talent on defense.

Legit SB contender and pretty impressive considering the way they have thrown draft picks around as trade chips rather than drafting players.

Absolutely. Nevermind that McVay is a really good coach. Goff was put in a good position to succeed. Stafford is a major upgrade.

It makes you think about the team building process.  How many years now haven't the Rams had a 1st round pick?  It seems we bash them on here for going after high priced guys while ignoring the draft yet here they are, multiple steps ahead of where the Eagles are.

I still think at some point not having any 1st rounders in consecutive years will bite them in the butt, however it's working for them right now.

It's certainly a win-now approach. For a team that has invested so much into their top players, they have good depth too.

I don't mind trading late 1s for proven, legit players. It does put a strain on your cap though.
