I worry that is the case.  Does he have enough git in him to be a proper HC/CEO?

If we are going to tear it all down and rebuild I am fine with giving Duce a chance.  If that is the way we are going I would imagine that we would be hiring another new coach before we are ready to compete again.

If you want a guy that can be just a players coach I think he can excel. If you want someone that's going to be innovative and restore the team to a top 10ish offense he's absolutely not the guy you want. It all really just depends on what you want your HC to be.

It's not necessarily a bad thing either to be just a players coach. Mike Tomlin is a players coach and has been very successful. So is Pete Carroll. Both won the SB and have had sustained success.

That’s the whole point that some of us have made about all the DK Metcalf crying and whining in here — there were TWO other frickin’ WR drafted after JJAW, before Metcalf came off the board.

It’s as though people here want to paint the Eagles as the dumbest organization in the world for passing on a sure-fire sure thing.  Metcalf was anything but.  He has the best deep-ball passer in the NFL throwing him deep passes — good for him

The Eagles were never going to take DK Metcalf, no matter who the GM was. The medical staff said no. Many teams did this.

I asked that the other day in the HC thread.  Players say he commands respect, ok?  What does he know about designing plays and building a scheme and playbook?  He's been the Asst HC for a couple years.  The coaching has been bad the last couple years.  So is his voice not being heard, is he part of the problem, what?

While that looks bad for Lurie, it's not like Campbell has done anything either. He has 24 receptions for 198 yards and 1 TD. Also he can't stay healthy. Both he and JJAW were bad selections.

Doug was fired for wanting to win and fix problems on the team.

In fairness, the jury is still out on Campbell.  I believe he's only played in 5 games in two years because of injury.  Obviously not even in the same stratosphere as Metcalf but even at the time, he would have been widely regarded as a better pick over JJAW.  JJAW was a 3rd round (or later) value on most boards.  I was shocked when they made that pick, tbh.

I think they would have taken the chance if they didn't fail on the Jones draft earlier. Can't draft a guy with a neck issue if you were just burned by a knee injury IMO
