Eagles had one of the worst defenses with some of the lowest turn overs in the league.

plus bad OL play can be hidden with good...great play calls.

While your OL statement can be true for a play or two, poor Oline play gets exposed much more consistently than playcalling hides it.  Honestly, it's not even close.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

When they say popular I'm assuming they mean football, soccer, baseball, hockey, basketball. Maybe cricket? I think that's popular everywhere but here.

Out of those, it's either football or basketball IMO. I lean more towards basketball, if you're exceptionally tall you're already halfway to becoming an NBA player. We've seen recently that you clearly don't need to know how to shoot to make it.

Hockey is first for me, just skating alone takes a ton of skill. Now skate with the puck, then learn how to dangle, learn how to take a hit, and learn how to shoot. Some players' slapshots can top out at 100mph. Baseball is a very close second, hitting that ball at the speeds pitchers throw at now is phenomenal. But that's the hardest part of it, fielding isn't really all that skill intensive despite how hard the Phillies make it look.

Some of you guys evidently never played basketball. How is the 6'11" Simmons working out?

I think that helps their point. Someone that tall who can’t shoot still made it to the NBA and makes a lot of money doing it.

Nah, because he doesn't have the "skills" needed to be any good.

Lmao yes a 10 year old skates exactly like an NHL player. Look how slow he's going and then watch an NHL player skate.

Where?   Is there a box store that has a nice selection?  Amazon?  They f-ed up and ignored the position again.  But hey, we got ourselves another WR and another hurt OLineman.

Anyone pick up Richard Sherman yet? Maybe a one year stop gap?

It's all gonna be fixed now.  Gannon will fix it.  There will be a 2-deep S look and many 3-safety formations, and the CB will really have nothing to do at all ......

Okay, maybe not -- but I'll wait to see the new scheme on defense before I worry too much.  How much worse can it get at CB than watching Maddox or Mills?

Wish.com or maybe gofundme?

Man.  You’re becoming one of the bigger I still use the EMB's #1 Cliche drinkers.

The nightmare at CB was at least partly due to defensive scheme.  Even in Chip's era he had Fletcher and Cary Williams out there, who were not great -- but not nearly as bad as what we've seen since.  Fletcher was ruined by the debacle against GB with Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson -- prior to that he was at least adequate.  When those guys left is when the real trouble began.  Byron Maxwell and Nolan Carroll were both hot garbage and there hasn't been much improvement since.

Schwartz's scheme was mostly a single-high safety and relied on DL pressure to compensate for the CB being left 1-on-1.  If the pressure didn't get there the CB had to hold up.  Many guys proved they could not hold up.  If Gannon switches to a 2-high safety and 3 safety look we will see what changes.

I'm all for drafting CB in the first 2 rounds.  I don't want to spend a lot of FA money on a CB.  For whatever reason the Eagles haven't drafted CB early.

I go

hoops

football

baseball

hockey is on another level when it comes to skills.  I still have no idea how guys can be fighting for position in front of a net and still have the hand eye coordination to tip a 80 MPH slap shot the direction they want to the net...all while wearing ice skates.

OTC shows 2.7 million.  Going to need at least 1.7 million to cover player 52 and 53 when we get to week 1.  Plus gonna have to cover at least one player they redshirt using IR.

So DeAngelo Hall then?

In baseball, you can have a fat, out of shape, 40 year old with a beer belly perform at an all-star level.

That's not to say baseball is easy.  It's just that the ratio of skill to athleticism is probably higher than any other sport.

A world class athlete who never grew up playing baseball would look like a clown on the baseball field holding a bat and a glove.

Look at any sport...the worse the average level of athlete is, the more the sport emphasizes skill.
