At this point his arm is what it is. It’s not so weak he can’t make it but it’s also not a strength.

He doesn’t really have any strengths pertinent to passing the football.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

How so?  He throws with a high velocity when he needs to.  What type of pass last season was he not able to hit that you feel he needs to?

Arm strength is huge... opens the playbook. Brees is an all-timer of course, but he's also had the benefit of having one of the best offensive coaches in NFL history.

You can be great without great arm strength; it's just a lot easier when you do have it.

Kurt Warner has said , 99% of all throws are 40 yards and under , that being said , arm strength is great for off platform throws . Give me a QB who can spin it within those 40 yards , makes good decision and can manipulate a defense .

Brady has won 7 Super Bowls with those qualities .

Hurts arm looking really nice working out this weekend with DeVonta Smith and Quez Watkins

Hurts deep to DeVonta

Hurts deep to Quez

All NFL starters, back ups and 3rd stringers make that throw in shorts.  It’s a whole lot different with coverage, and you are looking to run when the pass rush gets close.

Yeah, the throw to Smith was lobbed down the field; the only time you'll ever see that in a game is on a completely busted coverage, or a DB falls over his own feet.  Once per season, maybe

He made throws down the field as a rookie too though.

Every Nick Foles deep pass down the field was a lobbed pass.

Does it? That one to DeVonta was a high arcing rainbow with no velocity. Sometimes you need to make that throw. Other times you need less air under it to squeeze it in before a safety gets there. Theres nothing impressive about the throw you showed.

The one to Quez looks like a long ball but theres no camera angle to really judge the throw.

We've seen Hurts throw with velocity.

It's very interesting how the crows that had nothing but negative things to say about Hurts but also fawned over Nick Foles when all of his throws were high arcing rainbow throws.

Is Reagor there with them as well?

You know, sometimes practice is just to learn timing, adjust to the different speeds of each receiver and when they get to the spot on the field.

No, Greg War is there.  Reagor apparently is out in Vegas partying or something per his Instagram.

I thought it was interesting that Melvin Ingram was still out there on the market then I realized he's 32 years old.  I thought he was still in his mid-late 20s possibly trying to cash in on a big deal.  He's only 1 year younger than BG.  That doesn't seem possible to me.  Time sure moves fast.

Lets not forget the false premise set forth by you when you said he was looking impressive in those videos. To correct you on that, is not necessarily equivalent to knocking Hurts. Maybe he can throw with velocity. Show those videos then. Dont try to pretend some ordinary throw every high schooler can make is impressive.

Unless it’s for a real QB.  Howie would be dumb not to use them all.   So you’re probably right, because he’s an idiot.

I really think at least one of them should be traded to accrue additional picks. This is a multi year rebuild. They should be doing what the Dolphins are doing. Acquiring many high quality picks over multiple years, not just one. They have the assets to make that happen. They like to use the term "factory" a lot whether QB or GM. They should be creating a draft pick factory and the few quality picks they have in 2022 can create that. They really need it if they want to be long term contenders.

I think arm strength can be of value and can also be over valued.

Mcnabb had a cannon, Vick had a laser as well and a quick release yet sometimes a pass requires touch and guys like mcnabb and Vick often lacked that touch to complete those passes that require such

Before I waste my time pulling up a ton of highlights, define to me what velocity is to you.  What type of throws are you looking for exactly that you don't think Hurts is able to make with velocity.

FYP

Is it hate when there's so few games he played in and the Saints game had Taysom Hill with Payton clearly not game planning for Hurts?

If he ends up playing well I'll be cheering like crazy. Everyone wants him to turn out because then we can use those 3 first rounders on something other than QB

Ward is just there as the emergency QB.

Alot of you are kinda downing foles because of hurts?  I think anyway, Foles is a philly legend now and will be, dont care if his passes were lobbed or whateve, he surgically cut up the pats D, and because of him and the team we finally have a SB, he should get way more respect on here than he does,

I think it’s a pretty good counterpoint.

Cant really be on the Foles bandwagon while also complaining about Hurts velocity. Foles just throws moon balls. He also isn’t a good QB, so not exactly the person Hurts should want to be compared to anyway.

C’mon, man. There are NFL throws he isn’t physically capable of making.
