I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Nailed it!  The truth hurts.

Every team has to pump the tires on their new QB.  Heard it with Stafford, then Hurts, some with Goff, now Wentz.

Wentz will be a top 12 QB in most statistical categories in 2021; that's when the questions will really start getting asked.

What else are they to say?

NO!!!!!!

agreed. I seem to be the only one that feels that way in the 6ers thread.

Why does that twitter account seem to think we would prever to keep Shake and Thybulle over Maxey? Throw one of them in instead and Im for it.

If we could do that deal with Shake, I'd drive him and Ben to the airport. Yes -- I'd fly from LA to Philly, rent a car, pick them up, and drive them to the airport.

I'd prefer to keep Maxey, but if we have to give him up in that deal, I'd do it. But if they take Shake, it's highway robbery.

9.9 PPG and 15 of 45 from the free throw line vs 34 PPG and 47 of 50 from the free throw line.

6ers lost games to Atlanta by 7, 3, 3 and 4, and blew multiple 20 point leads.

You don't think Lillard would have made a difference in the Hawks series ??  And before you bring up Ben's defense, the Hawks averaged 107.8 PPG and Trae Young averaged 29 PPG.

Dang.

You include Maxey in that deal 10 out 10 times and don’t even think twice. Obviously keeping him and using Shake is much better. However, you are trading for a top 5 player. You need to send value.

Lilliard is a great player, no doubt, but if you trade Ben + to get him you instantly become a small team. Shake, Matisse, Maxey, Curry, Lilliard, not a one of 'em over 6'3'. Now, of course you won't have all five after such a trade but still. You want Tobias guarding Durant or Thanassis? Green's a FA, Howard's done.

You gotta return the car to the airport anyway, so you might as well have people to talk to.  Makes perfect sense.

With Simmons, the Sixers are pretenders for the next 5-6 years.  With Lillard they're serious contenders for the next 3 years.  I'd make the trade.  They're a broken team with Simmons as he's currently being used.  It's one first round pick and 2 pick-swaps.  There's no way POR would agree to that deal though.

Carson Wentz is going to be a top 10 QB this year.  Did he handle the situation here the best way that he could?  Probably not.  However, the best thing for Carson Wentz's career and life was getting out of Philly.

I think they could have won game 7 just by having Danny Green defending Boganovic and Galinari instead of letting them shoot over Curry with ease all game long.  That sort of makes the rest of the post irrelevant.

I also think replacing Ben with a great offensive player is fine and Ive been wanting to do that for longer than anyone. So lets not try to pretend any different. Dont worry, Im not going to make an argument to support a #1 overall pick being nothing but a defensive specialist.

But when Embiid is injured again next post-season, and the one after, and the one after, etc.... Lillard isnt going to do it alone. And hes already in his 30s. And youre talking about giving up the young talent to build a team thats not going to win a finals. Its not worth it.

Any trade they make with Ben should keep them contenders this year. But it also needs to protect or improve depth, and assets. Otherwise we are on a crash course for the bottom of the league again. And that will be here fast.

Embiid regular season stats

28.5 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 1.4 blocks per game

Hawks series

30.4 PPG, 12.7 RPG, 2 blocks per game

Not sure how Embiid is the problem.

you said youre not a 6ers fan. Maybe you didnt watch that series then.

Credit Embiid for playing through the injury, but he couldnt give good output for more than 1-2 quarters in any of those games. And he had a ton of turnovers. He wasnt his best self. He had nothing in the 4th quarter.

Now with Lillard in place of Ben, Embiid has adequate help and the Hawks series is won by Philly. But Embiid's play was drastically deteriorating as time went on. He wasnt going to last through another series. Let alone the finals.

Yes and no. He had to play that hard in the playoffs because our "second best player” was a dud. If Dame was here, he could conserve his energy in the first half and then turn it on in the second.

he tried that, or appeared to on one of the games. He didnt do anything in the 1st. Came out hot in the 3rd (or maybe that was harris) or early in the 4th. But still had nothing at the end. That theory has already been disproven. You cant build around him. You have to built to win in spite of his presence. Then, if he is healthy by some miracle, its a bonus. You cant plan to have him. Its a losing proposition. Has been ever year of his career.

And if we had a 30ppg scorer who can close a game, it wouldn’t matter if Embiid averaged 25ppg, we still win.

I watched the majority

He played 31.1 minutes per game in the regular season, 37.3 minutes per game in the Hawks series, including 41 minutes in game 7.

Game 7 4th quarter, 4-8 from the field, 9 points, 2 rebounds and 2 turnovers, and played the entire 4th quarter.

Here is why you lost the game.

This isnt a Simmons vs Embiid discussion. And all of the Embiid stats are completely worthless to 6ers fans who watched the series. Youll score points with casual fans and thats it. Which doesnt matter to me because I know better.
