You have to wonder why the Ertz to Buffalo trade hasn’t been completed yet. Perhaps there’s other players on the team being discussed in a trade to Buffalo.

Unless I’m wrong, the Bills need an upgrade in the pass rush department. Josh Sweat? Even Graham or Cox could be involved?

They also could use a more dynamic RB. Sanders I think is a realistic possibility to be dealt.

I’m assuming the Bills are in all-in mode before they have to pay Josh Allen.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

You know by definition you’re overpaying in FA.  Much more likely to get a team-friendly deal with a guy who’s already on the team.

Except that Howie over pays guys that are on the team, too.

I’m not buying the Goedert breakout season. First, he’s been dinged up a good amount. Second, Hurts didn’t really throw to the middle of the field a ton which will limit his production. Sirianni also doesn’t seem to utilize the TE like Doug did. I’m thinking 650-700ish yards if he plays all year.

Goedert has the feel of one of those Philly athletes who will constantly be entering his expected breakout season until he’s gone.  Sanders too.

I don't think Sanders is going anywhere. Now, I've said we should trade him in here before and I am still okay with it, but our RB rotation without him is pretty bad. We would need more than Gainwell, Howard, Scott and Johnson.

I agree but don’t think it’s completely out of the question

With this team only a few players aren't truly available in no particular order: Kelce, Dickerson, Mailata (through TC), Smith, Goedert (this season), BG, Milton Williams, and that may be it.  Hurts can be argued for this season but if they were offered something unexpected they would roll with Flacco.  Otherwise I think every other player on the team is "available".

Kelce has a $30 million poison pill clause in his contract that comes due if on the roster next summer.

If he wants to play again next season that will be renegotiated.

This is some amazing artwork

I don’t want any player compensation for Ertz.  I want draft compensation.  And I prefer 2023 draft compensation. How about a conditional pick like fourth that can become a third if certain conditions are met but if not becomes a fifth and a 2024 sixth.  That sort of approach. The argument being that if we kept him, Ertz would be a 2023 fourth comp pick.

100% fine by me. I'm on a lonely boat thinking this team needs a multitude of  picks over multiple years. Not just cashing everything in for 2022. This can't be fixed in one year, probably not even two. Create a assembly line of additional picks coming through the next couple years at least.
I like the thinking they had in round one of this past draft. You will have more assets to do that again, multiple times even.
This team needs a lot of high end talent if they want to be contenders again. Still don't trust Jeff and Howie, but it's irrelevant. Create a draft pick factory since they like to throw that term around.

That's basically what I would ask for as well. I think that's a good deal for any team. If ertz returns to his top 5 form a 3rd is still good value, if he doesn't then a 4th isn't the end of the world. Plus if the team that gets him doesn't re-sign him there is still the possibility of getting a comp pick if he goes elsewhere in FA

They drafted pass rushers with their first two picks.

Which means their pass rush wasn’t great last year.

15th in sacks.  But they drafted two guys, why would they trade for Sweat ??

You can never have enough quality pass rushers. How many late 1st and late 2nd round pass rushers make immediate impacts as rookies?

This FO never learns. We are in cap hell and just coming out of it, I know! Let’s give our underperforming TE a big Payday!!!!

Did they sign Goedert to an extension?

Funny — you do a search of best NFL TE on any reputable website and Goedert is in the top 10 in all of them; top 6 in most.

Who do you want the Eagles to give a contract extension to … nobody?  Goedert might be the biggest no-brainer extension on the team as long as his market value is negotiated properly.  What other 26 year-old players do the Eagles have that would be more deserving?

The coaching staff are reportedly very high on Goedert and if he can stay healthy, he will surprise some Eagles fans being the no 1 TE in the system, rather than being in a ride share with Ertz.  But he has to stay healthy.

Health is the only question mark.  We know he can produce if given the targets like Ertz used to get.

Health and consistency on the field.

Hope all have a happy 4th

Hargrave’s cap number is north of $17mm next year. Graham, Cox, and Hargrave account for $50mm combined. Over 25% of total team cap space. That’s insane to me.
