Seen this and I think what's most impressive is the 8 feet of separation metric.

If that translates to the NFL Smith will be open a lot, only question then would be can the QB consistently get him the ball.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I like the wing span myself.  His arms are longgg

Yup long arms big hands definitely should help him, the 5 yards in under a second is impressive as well, that's getting off the line.

One could argue that at his weight that quickness off the line will be mitigated by bigger more physical corners but I don't remember any college corners being able to get their hands on him and it's not like he was playing against a bunch of scrub corners in his conference

I wasn't too excited about Smith pre draft and the more I read about him the more excited I get.

I think he'll be pretty good, I'm sure he'll have his rookie struggles and I expect he still does well which again still comes down to the QB getting him the ball as well

Within 3 years he will establish himself as the best WR in the league. I've never been higher on a player the Eagles have drafted.

Whoa....have the Eagles ever had "the best WR in the league"?

Where Howie is going, he doesn’t need roads.

That's the one thing about him when trying to figure out what makes him so good.  His wingspan is ridiculous for his overall size.  I was anti Smith during all season long and all during the pre-draft timeframe.  I'm still not sold on him but if one thing stands out it's his catch radius and he actually uses it to his advantage.  It's going to be interesting to see what parts of his game translate to the NFL.  I've warmed to him, one because he's an Eagle but also just because despite the size, lack of testing and whatnot, he was just unstoppable.

Mike quick for a couple seasons?

They had an elite OL last year, and 4/5 of the starters got hurt.  Then all of their backups got hurt.  Then a bunch of the 3rd stringers also got hurt.  Then Brett Toth had to play.  Now they are all a year older with an highly talented rookie that has been hurt more than our OL last season.  I don't see what you see.

Brooks is an animal, he was potentially ready for the playoffs last year, he'll be 100% this fall. At 100% he's the best guard in the NFL.

Lane is the question mark, but if the ankle is 100% he may be the best RT in the NFL.

The battle at LT should leave us with one solid starter.

And with Dillard/Mailata, Dickerson, Driscoll, Herbig on the bench, well, find me a team with better depth.

When Seumalo and Kelce are your "weak spots" you're in good shape.

And we have the secret sauce in Stoutland.

Howie MIGHT actually get fired if the Eagles win 4 or fewer games AND Wentz has an MVP caliber season.  If only one happens without the other, Howie is safer than the free safety with over the top coverage of Greg Ward.

They brought in how many executives that will likely be the scapegoat?

The winner at LT should give us at the very least a solid starter as you stated but the potential of an All-Pro.

Dickerson should be the LG by the halfway point of the season...ugh, no more halfway point with 17 games.

Kelce, knowing this is most likely his last season should be at his best.  He's not the kind of player to go out on a low note.

I think Brooks has 5 more years if he's healthy.  I know it's a big if but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Lane Johnson appears to be healthy as well and again, giving him the benefit of the doubt to continue at a high level.

Seumalo as a 6th lineman once Dickerson is in the lineup is tremendous depth to go along with Driscoll and Herbig.

Lane and Brooks are just young enough, good enough, explosive enough, experienced enough, and competitive enough that IF they are on the field, I have no doubt that both will be playing exceptionally well, as always.  Even if their respective injuries are not a true "100%", they are going to play great.

The issue is staying on the field, which I'm pretty confident neither will do.

IMO, Kelce, interestingly, is the exact opposite.  The guy is a perennial all-pro, all time Eagles legend, and a HOF candidate...but at his age, with his size and the unique way he needs to compensate for it...I am actually concerned this may be the year we see some real problems with pocket stability because of a soft center.

He was nuts, but he was good. Never forget the TD with the 49ers when he pulled the Sharpie out and signed it.

Not worried about Brooks, he's missed one season. If he's healthy, he's healthy.

Lane is more of a concern, ankles are tricky.

Kelce is starting to fade, i think this is his last season, and one reason they drafted Dickerson, they can see the handwriting on the wall.

If Dickerson has to come in, there will an adjustment period, where Kelce doubles with a guard, he's the one who releases to the second level, given the athleticism of the guards, Dickerson will probably be the one sustaining the block. On the other hand, he's so big and athletic he'll neutralize big athletic DTs in pass protection and can win one on one blocks in the run game.

The Eagles could have an elite OL. The pieces are in place.  Issue is they are all injury prone and over half the OL a little long in the tooth so the likelihood is that some will get banged up again and they are unable to make it through the season or even long stretches of the season as a singular unit.

The only concern I have with the OL is I didn’t think they had a great season collectively in 2019, either.  Let’s hope 2021 is their best season as a unit in awhile.  OL should be a strength, though — if we have a head coach and OC who will commit to the run game.

Marginal QB play is a big worry.  Pass defense is a big worry, but it’s been atrocious since 2018, talent at WR is a worry (ditto from pass defense).

I’m just not excited about this season at all yet. Partially because I care less and less as I get older but mostly because I have zero expectations. IMO, we have a subpar QB and head coach.

The only player I’m excited about is Davonta.

Good thoughts.  I think they will commit to the run, because they have to (see your other comments).  Which backs are leading that way?  I say Sanders. Johnson, and Gainwell.

Sanders/Hurts will account for 85% of the run game (unless one of them get hurt)

It will be interesting to see who wins in camp between Johnson and Howard; I like Howard as a straight-ahead RB if he has any burst left.  Gainwell will hopefully be good enough to supplant Scott at some point.
