Except you have to resist the temptation to get a QB b/c you need one, that's when teams reach in the draft and end up with dreck, or trade mucho assets for a guy like Stafford.

You resist the temptation if the guy is old, past his prime, or so-so but just the best QB on the market at the time. Not when they're a top 7 QB in their mid 20's.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

The Eagles are in a unique situation where they can use just 2022 draft capital to get an elite QB because they'll have 3 first rounders. They may not have to use all 3, who knows. But in most cases, you're dipping into future years drafts and the Eagles won't have to do that.

Plus you can add Hurts to any trade package.

Houston already has a better qb prospect than Hurts, so I doubt they care, unless they just want more competition.

How about this... you focus on what you want and I'll focus on what I want.  I dont know who you are from the old board, nor do I care, but I was the ring leader for the Justin Jefferson bandwagon and had to hear all about how he was just a slot WR or whatever else from everyone.  Then he goes out and exceeds even my elevated expectations of what he could be... and the guy who is supposed to be in charge puts out through his media lackies that the scouting department wanted Jefferson, and it was the coaches, specifically Doug, that wanted Reagor.  So, yeah, Im going to mention it whenever and however I choose, because it continues to stand as the single most egregious example of Howie's MO.  Screw up, and immediately blame it on anyone else when it doesnt work out.  If that bothers you, scroll past or put me on ignore.  This will come back around again for as long as Howie remains.

Ringleader?  I came to Justin Jefferson on my own, if you’ll please.  Why I appreciated having a brother in arms, I don’t think that we were minions. :groovy:

Got sick one night eating at Taco Cabana, I'll stick with real Tex-Mex if I'm ever back in the homeland.

However, Torchy's Tacos is great for "new age" combo tacos, and placating the wife.

But every city in Texas has a dozen first rate "Mexican Mama's", local joints that provide Lyle's "greasy enchiladas" and other favorites. In Austin, I had a weak spot for El Azteca  and their Cabrito.

Funny thing is there's a great little joint in Western Michigan near my in-laws, because they're  now third generation (originally came north for the Apple orchards).

However, the northern Philly suburb where I'm temporarily residing is a Mexican food wasteland (the Mexicans are SW in Kenneth Square), Odoba, Seis Salas, other dreck. No Thai food, and the Chinese up here is typical suburban crapola. Even the pizza and cheesesteak joins are second rate.  I'm dying!

Sorry you got sick at Taco Cabana.  Never happened to me.  Obviously, not my choice for Tex-Mex but for Tex-Mex fast food, which was the conversation. Love the fajita tacos. Their refrieds are poor, their Spanish rice is bad, salsa is watery, the guacamole is as bland as Chipotle’s but I like the marinade and cut they use for their fajita tacos (and anyone eating a crispy taco shell might as well be eating McCormick’s taco seasoning on ground beef and calling that taco meat).  While their margaritas are a bit weak and low class, it’s still way better than a coke at Qdoba, Taco Bell, Chipotle’s, Moe’s, Pollo Loco, Del Taco  etc. And it may be the only fast food restaurant not serving BBQ where you can get a cold beer or a margarita.

In Houston, I still like Los Tios on Memorial for great nachos, puffy queso and tacos al carbon.  May be the only "chain” for decent Tex Mex. Still waiting to walk into a restaurant not in TX or NM and seeing tacos al carbon on the menu.

How is it that I can get better Tex Mex in York than where you are?  Sounds like the "Mexican” food restaurant here in Shrewsbury would fit right in there.  Now the worst Tex Mex I have ever had was the week I spent in southern WV.  Aztecs, IIRC.  Should have walked out after they failed the salsa test.  Their salsa must have been a gallon can of condensed tomato soup with a small can of "mild” Rotel.  Worst I ever had.

There's our #1 draft pick wearing a suit an 8th grader could wear to a dance in the cafeteria winning an ESPY for Best College Athlete.  Congrats to him.  Won't be too long before we see what this kid can do.

That's what happens when you market to "white bread" people, same with suburban Chinese.

Thai food is one of the few ethnic foods that doesn't seem to compromise, probably b/c if you make it bland no one will eat it.

True, if Thai food doesn't smack me in the face with flavor then it's not Thai food.

I was surprised that punch took him down.

Still satisfying to see one of the biggest pieces of ish humans walking the earth get knocked out by a dude that covers up his massive love handles with tattoos.

I thought that Siri wouldn’t be able to hold players accountable because he couldn’t talk to the media the way we wanted him to, right?

What does the crowd have to say about this comment from Lane?

You really think Lane would say he’s a clown… this is irrelevant… like most things said

It's relevant because one of the stories that came out last season during all the losing was practices were sloppy, bad habits were going unchecked, and nobody was calling people out on their mistakes.  If that is changing, then it's a step in the right direction.

Are the negative statements likewise irrelevant or only the ones that shed a positive light that are perceived to be mandatory or "can't say he sucks" realm?

There's good Mexican food around the country now, you have to find out where the migrant workers settled, then look for a place with lots of brown faces (same holds with authentic Chinese, etc.). So the agricultural counties west of Philly probably have lots of good places, where the northern suburbs have places that cater to white people who ain't from the SW (i.e. have no clue what real Tex-Mex, NM-Mex, or Cali-Mex tastes like.

I always used the Margarita test - if they use a pre-packaged mix, walk out. Fresh lime juice or else. One place in DC, it was obvious they had just warmed up something in the microwave. However, in Arlington, used to eat at a restaurant George Jr frequented for his Tex-Mex fix, and downtown there was a place with Joe Ely enchiladas, so you know that was a real Austinite running the show.

Yup. If I want a good taco I'll hit up a street taco vendor.

Most mexican restaurants have been americanized and serve American Mexican food, and some places do that better than others yet I've found authentic Mexican food from a street vendor is usually less expensive more authentic and better tasting!

One of the best Mexican food experiences I've had was Market Square in San Antonio.  Walking through there and picking up different parts of the meal from vendors was incredible.
