Watching the Wimbledon finals right now and it’s frustrating as a Philly fan watching someone like Djokovic, who is the athlete equivalent of a stone cold assassin.  He’s the complete opposite of everything we complain about with Ben Simmons, Wentz, Tobias Harris to an extent, Rhys Hoskins, and all the soft athletes that seem to continuously find excuses or point to the fans for their problems.  Djokovic has done this in the shadows behind the 2 greatest tennis players of all time with his own controversies along the way.  He never complained, he never whined, he never lost his passion, and if he wins today he’s now going to probably be considered the greatest of all time.  It’s well deserved.  He is unreal to watch.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

You really think Lane would say he’s a clown… this is irrelevant… like most things said

It’s relevant because it’s more detailed. Read the comment. He could have said a positive comment about the coach without saying as much as he did. Lane is straight forward with the media.

I was told previously in here that It was irrelevant when Darius Leonard defended Siri without even being prompted. So when is a player comment relevant? Only when they are negative?

He had a nice little run but came back down to earth.  He's the Ronda Rousey of mens MMA.

Maybe it's because he has millions now and is comfortable.  He made comments how fighters records should only be based on KO's and not submissions or decisions.   Sounds to me like he'd be better off in boxing.

Will probably die alone on this hill, but I still think people look overly far into what Sirianni says in front of a camera/the media. There are brilliant minds, entrepreneurs, entertainers, etc that can be awkward or weird in front of a group of people.

This isn't to suggest that Sirianni is a brilliant mind, but people don't seem to understand or accept that goofy press conferences does not automatically equal a slam dunk terrible coach.

both are important in boxing; that's why most knowledgeable fight fans don't give an ish about Floyd Mayweather's W-L record.  He just runs, hides, holds, and slaps.  He's not a fighter

He's as qualified as anyone else who was hired in this coaching cycle.  I like that the Eagles have brought in young, hungry coaches to form a hopefully up-and-coming staff.

I'll judge Sirianni based on whether the team looks prepared for their opponents, how many pre-snap and formation penalties there are, how many goofy in-game decisions or bad challenges are made, and whether the players play hard for him or not.  I know he'll be far from perfect in his first season -- but punting once in awhile on 4th-and-6 from midfield would be a great step in the right direction from the last regime.

I dont care for Floyd myself but i give him credit for what he does and what he's accomplished.   The name of the game is to hit and not get hit and he does that very well.  It's not the most exciting thing to watch but he gets the job done.  He's a technician more than a fighter or brawler.

I with you on this.  I could care less about his pressers.  It’s the least important aspect of his job

If you didn’t know BB was a hof head coach and watched his pressers you would probably think he was retarded or something.

Sirianni wasn't the flavor of the month, so the media take is the Eagles settled for left overs. Like they did in 2016.

When you look at resumes, Sirianni has a good a track record as practically anyone hired this year, WR and QB coach, and 3 years OC under one of the top offensive coaches in the NFL.

Not sure what else he could do, now he does suffer from the "AR problem," when you're the OC for a HC who is a top offensive guy, how much is you and how much the HC?

He's hired a staff that's development oriented, with a lot of hands on coaching experience, Johnson (QB), Michael (TE), Stoutland (OL), Rocker (DL), Gannon (DBs), Wilson (DBs). The two inexperienced coaches are Morehead (WR) and Rallis (LB). Steichen has been an OC and QB coach.

Just because you work at Marley Station Mall.  Doesn’t mean the rest of us go to malls, in 2021. We have what’s called "greenways” down here.

I actually used to work at the gold’s gym there.

Gentleman...you're slimmer, always skips leg day Nate Herbig.  I kid, I kid.  I really think he does have starting potential.  Needs to be in Brooks' back pocket to learn.

Devonta may have bigger legs then Herbig

You might.  Generally, I choose to ignore folks that tried to draw conclusions from the dealings with the media.  It means exactly nothing.  Worthless to argue about it.

Random predictions for this upcoming season:

Jonathan Gannon will be really good, even better than Sirianni, and naturally he'll be hired as a head coach by a team next offseason and the Eagles will need to find another DC.

Mitch Trubisky will need to win an important game for the Bills this upcoming season whether it be injury to Allen, illness, whatever. That was destined the second they signed him.

Derek Barnett will have the best season of his career to date, putting the Eagles in a tough spot as to whether or not they should re-sign him, and with Philly's luck, whatever they choose will be the wrong decision. If they re-sign him, he'll revert back to being injured and unproductive and if they let him go he'll go on to emerge as a perennial pro bowler for another team.

With no LBs and 1 CB?

Looking at just his face I think he might be 12

Exactly.  Gannon would do a whale of a job just to get this defense to middle of the pack this season; there just isn’t any young talent about to break through.  It will take at least 2-3 years for him to build up the talent necessary for his defense to draw attention around the league to make him a viable HC candidate.

Least stunning thing I’ve read all day.  If you want good tacos.  Google how to cook and go to the store.  It’s not that hard.  Chipotle is overrated and overpriced.  But Taco Bell is horrendous.

It's cheap and it tastes better than Metamucil
