I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

We should just eliminate all team names because they are offensive and go with the city name.  Although I often find the city of Philadelphia fairly offensive, so that would leave me questioning my allegiances.

I tend to think of it as a symbol of hate now.

Sad thing about all the mascot controversy is the fact that it's basically white people telling other white people to be offended.  Heck, I went to Susquehanna University and we changed from Crusaders 6 years ago because some of our students travel oversees and the Board of Trustees thought Crusaders might be offensive to those effected by the Medieval crusades....something tells me that Europeans would be more offended by the fact that it cost $120,000/year to go to some American colleges.

Numerous studies were done.  The Washington Post found that 9 out 10 Native Americans were OK with the Redskins name, while another survey asked them to describe what word described their feelings about the Redskins name and "Pride" was the overwhelming choice.  There's plenty of data to support this.

Yes, there were Native American groups against it but not in the overwhelming numbers you might think.  Out of 574 Native American tribes, roughly 23 were advocates for the name change.

Out of the Native American names/imagery used for team mascots, Redskins 100% has the most racist tone but again, if the majority of Native Americans are OK with it then keep it.  Warriors, Braves, Chiefs and so on aren't even on the same level and shouldn't be disputed IMO.  It shouldn't be up to us white folks at all to determine who's offended by names.

Washington Warriors actually seems like a good name IMO

The Washington Non-Binary Theys

I'm sure that one won't offend their research groups.

Warriors, Wolverines ... Washing Machines ..... this shouldn't be difficult.  Pick a name, pick colors, rebrand and make lots of money from the sheep who will run to the store and buy up the new gear.  Going out there without a name, and numbers on their helmets, should be an embarrassment; I'm not even sure they're embarrassed.

Completely off topic...

For your viewing and listening pleasure.  I somehow came across the YouTube "genre" of musicians watching other music.  This woman, is a voice coach/opera singer and she watches/reacts to a lot of metal.  IMO, she's absolutely stunning and seeing her passion and how the music hits her is insanely attractive and quite honestly, wonderful to see.

The first song is Corey Taylor singing the acoustic version of Snuff....a FREAKING INCREDIBLE song and something you would never expect if you listen to Slipknot.  You can see this woman falling in love with the guy.

The second I've enjoyed is Disturbed's The Sound of Silence.

They do.  Her breakdowns of the singing is very informative.  I love Corey Taylor's music.  That entire acoustic set is so good.

Sometimes I like a team name that isn't plural, like Magic, or Jazz, (not that I follow basketball specifically, just those names came to mind).

For Washington, I have a name that will match their colors, and shouldn't be too offensive to even the overly sensitive.

As a person that is about half Scandinavian DNA according to Ancestry, I have to say that the Vikings are a generalization insult to those of us with Scandinavian heritage.  First off, there is no archaeological evidence that Scandinavian warriors wore horned helmets.   In fact, there is only one helmet found from that era.  No horns. Yet the team in Minnesota has those silly helmets.  Next, there is that cartoon mascot.  Again with the horns. And blonde?  Maybe but more likely a dirty blonde than as depicted but more likely brunette or redhaired, if a Dane.  And some sort of grimacing warrior.  Sure, some Vikings raided but a lot more were explorers, traders and immigrants that stayed where they went, including the first known European settlers in America.   All in all, the depiction presented by that team is unacceptable.

I cannot imagine what you descendants of the pirate republic think of the depiction of "Raiders” and "Buccaneers”.

Meanwhile, apparently we need to rename a moth, so moving on….

I actually like the name Washington football team.

Simple easy no fuss no muss just straight to the point I mean why does a team need a name of an animal or some other random thing???

Chick filet customers give me the angry, not because  I don't like the taste of homophobic chicken but because I go to a sprouts farmers market right next to it and all the people in line at the drive in are always blocking traffic out in the road and around the parking lot all for a sub par over priced fast food chicken filet👎

Their chicken sandwich is good.  I usually get it with some waffle fries and put their chick fila sauce on the sandwich.  But it's not worth waiting in line for.

used to be a old fun trivia question to name all the sports teams who wernt plural.

Both Sox' teams in baseball. the weather teams(heat, thunder and avalanche) now we can add the Kraken.

Is avalanche a weather phenomenon?  Disagree.

I guess it involves snow.  Not sure I buy it.

Houston had the Oilers and Pittsburgh has the Steelers, so a local profession could be in play.  How about the Washington Bureaucrats?  Their mascot could be a roll of red tape.

I absolutely hate the temporary name lol

Washington Corruption

The helmet could have a R on one side and a D on the other.

And dollar signs all throughout.

I always thought the Foreskins was perfect.  Dont understand why Snyder and company wouldn't like that.
