I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Their chicken sandwich is good.  I usually get it with some waffle fries and put their chick fila sauce on the sandwich.  But it's not worth waiting in line for.

Mobile app.  No waiting in line.  Just order on the app, skip the drive through line and go right to the curbside pickup.

Playing out a theme:

Washington Cocottes

Washington Courtesans

Washington Libertines

My personal favorite:

The D.C. Tarts

I just had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.

No I stuck the peel from the orange slice in front of my teeth though to have an orange smile.

I have never understood why KFC is held in such reverence. People queued for over an hour in my local town to get KFC when it opened up (this was in the last 10 yeas too); one chap would regularly order a meal and go back to the back of the line to eat that one and order again. It's greasy deep fried chicken bits with greasy fries.  My standards aren't high but even so...  No thanks.

Then again, people in my town spent silly amounts of time queuing at the local McDonald's drive thru (who a very limited menu to serve) in our various COVID lockdowns, so clearly their standards are persistently low or they think queuing for an hour is the epitome of fast food.  Clearly they lacked a sense of irony.

I actually like the name Washington football team.

Simple easy no fuss no muss just straight to the point I mean why does a team need a name of an animal or some other random thing???

Why have words at all.  Let's move to emojis or maybe memes.

KFC and McDonalds would be for the budget-conscious (cheap or poor) people; I've noticed in my area KFC meals and promotions are much cheaper than Popeyes, or even Jollibee

The Washington 💩

This is why you try to keep Matisse over Maxey in a potential Dame trade or another trade for a great PG in a Simmons trade.  You will lose a great defender in Ben but you try to keep a potentially even more elite defender in Matisse.  Plus Thybulle will continue to develop his spot up 3 pointer.

It's not like the UK has anywhere near the choice in fried chicken joints that America has, the major cities may have the odd specialist chicken joint but the vast majority of KFC's competition are cheap and cheerful kebab/chicken/pizza joints that buys bulk frozen 'southern fried' chicken from a wholesale food supplier and throws it out for a quid a piece, measured against that KFC is at least consistently OK.

Similarly with McDonalds, the vast majority of it's UK competition is either artisan burger places that charge you North of £15 for a burger and fries that is good as you'll get anywhere, or a cheapo every sort of fast food you can think of place all bought from the same frozen chicken wholesaler, nobody wants to pay £15-£20 for a great burger every time when you can pay £8 for a McDonalds that is rarely anything other than pretty good.

That's a good idea but I guess I'm a little old fashioned.   I havent used an app or anything one time to order something.

You're doing it wrong. Over here it's not "chicken bits". It is greasy but it's whole breasts and such. I like KFC well over Popeyes. I mean nothing beats my wife's fried chicken but KFC is fine for a quick evening dinner if she doesn't feel like cooking

Odd choice to hold the joint practice with the Jets when we play them this season.

That Patriots joint practice will be overflowing with reports about how Mac is looking vs how Hurts is looking since Eagles could have drafted Mac.

There's good Mexican food around the country now, you have to find out where the migrant workers settled, then look for a place with lots of brown faces (same holds with authentic Chinese, etc.). So the agricultural counties west of Philly probably have lots of good places, where the northern suburbs have places that cater to white people who ain't from the SW (i.e. have no clue what real Tex-Mex, NM-Mex, or Cali-Mex tastes like.

I always used the Margarita test - if they use a pre-packaged mix, walk out. Fresh lime juice or else. One place in DC, it was obvious they had just warmed up something in the microwave. However, in Arlington, used to eat at a restaurant George Jr frequented for his Tex-Mex fix, and downtown there was a place with Joe Ely enchiladas, so you know that was a real Austinite running the show.

I highly recommend Taco Riendo at 5th and Thompson. It's authentic Mexican and a BYO. Make your own margaritas.

I tend to think of it as a symbol of hate now.

I recently decided to identify as a symbol of hate, so I'm officially offended.

Just realized that as of today we are only 2 weeks away from the start of training camp.

Doesn't run off the table, just runs through your body.
