Howie is really doing Jackson/Jeffrey a solid here too. They'll be free agents before free agency starts, making it easier for them to find teams. Things like that matter to players.

This also makes it easier to trade Wentz, Ertz, etc.

I think they need to redo a good portion of the playbook or change the calls up. I really think the defense knew what was coming quite often. If the DBs know what our WRs are going to do during the play, then of course the WRs are going to struggle. I don't think they should give up on Fulgham.  With all our needs, I can't see us getting more than one WR in this draft.  I don't think Goodwin will make this team.  Hightower and Quez need a NFL camp and weight training program.  Once they get physically stronger, hopefully that will make them more willing to be physical.

The Watkins comparison is an interesting take.  Chase did not run the full route tree but neither did Watkins.

Smtih is very polished.  Reminds me a bit of DJax in that regard.

I’d actually like to keep Malik. He’s definitely a very good #3 DT. Being paid like a pro bowler makes him an underachiever but hopefully they can hang on to him at the right price. DT is a position I’m OK overinvesting in

None. TE's barely go top 10 and for good reason. In the last 20 years Vernon Davis is probably the best. It's only Hockensen, Ebron, Davis, Winslow Jr drafted top 10.

Yup Doug's predictable offensive scheme route combinations and play calling don't help out the receivers at all.

Don't we need to clear more cap than just Alshon and Jackson to trade Wentz? I seem to recall @Iggles_Phan going over a lot that needs to happen

I think they believe that beyond certain key positions most rosters are built on a year to year basis.  I think they will look they are rebuilding if they move on from Wentz. If not, then we are going to see a bunch of short-sighted moves.

Always been that way for players you cut before June 1st but want them to be June 1st cuts.

Yeah it’s why i have a hard time ever taking one in the top 10. I feel like first round in general has usually been a big disappointment. Only one i feel like in the last 25 years that lived up to their pick in the first round as Tony Gonzalez. Probably one or two others but it’s rare

Yup. There's some good late 1st rounders like Heath Miller and Greg Olsen. There's Shockey who was ok. Almost everyone else was probably not worth it.
