This team needs a fresh start. While we can’t get rid of Howie ever, keeping Duce as HC makes very little sense superficially. Blow it up. Who cares what this old arse roster thinks.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

John Harbaugh was a ST coach.  How have his teams done?  Ive heard the argument that STs prepares you more for being a HC than being a coordinator

Tomlin had exactly 1 year of experience as a DC before getting the HC gig.  He doesnt coordinate their defense.

McDermott looked like he was headed for a job flipping burgers, now has a dynamic offense that he has almost nothing to do with.  He doesnt coordinate their defense either

There is no end-all, be-all here.  Every situation is unique.

I just want competency, and an organization that doesnt conduct business like a sewing circle.

I want Vince Lombardi as the head coach, and I'll have Bill Walsh coaching the offense, with Bud Carson coaching the defense.

At QB coach, one of: Holmgren, Wyche or Reid.  Coaching OL: Joe Bugel.   Joe Gibbs as Offensive Quality Control.
DL: Tommy Brasher.  Jim Johnson as the LB coach and Dick Lebeau at DB coach.  Buddy Ryan for special assignments defensive.

Give me some nominees for RB, WR and TEs.

Given that we are on the verge of a drastic rebuild that will require players to be let go, I'm not sure a player-friendly HC is the way to go.

One of the issues since the Super Bowl is that the entire franchise got too happy with who was already in the room... they just want to keep it together.

I understand this take, I see how it could be viewed as a lifetime achievement award.

Its just weird to me how people are reacting skeptically to all the players supporting him.

I feel like Chip was a bad GM moreso than a bad coach. When he was just coaching things were working. And we can't say his systems aren't in the NFL now (outside of the constant hurry up). We didn't have talent because anyone who wasn't down with his culture had to go. Lost good years from Desean for starters.

Now I do agree they didn't even like the guy who ended up winning the Super Bowl. What else is he supposed to do lol? Esp seeing how Gase and McAdoo flamed out

Nah.  When he first came in, the league wasn't caught up.  It didn't take long and then he had no answer.   So, he flamed out... fast.

What he brought can be a wrinkle, his problem was that he didn't have a wrinkle off his wrinkle.   And his break neck speed thing just wore down his own team, and his defense...because they were playing WAY more snaps than all the rest of the league.   That can work with 18-22 year olds and a 80 man roster in the NCAA.   But, this was a 45 man active roster, with grown men that take longer to recover.

I think we should be careful about comparing Chip to Lincoln. Chip was a fraud who promised trends and counter trends. None of it came to fruition. He also was an egomaniac.

Riley can he innovative without the baggage.

I don’t think anyone wants Kafka or Duce ideally. Frankly most of us have said with who’s left we want Brady. However i think the realization has come down to it might come down to Duce, Kafka or bieniemy. I’m not as high on bieniemy as others.

i wouldn't mind Duce with the QB coach from Buffalo as OC and the secondary coach from the Rams as DC

Because, frankly, players can be pretty dumb. Duce might be a great guy and a good leader, but is he organized enough to lead a team? Does he have a good enough Rolodex to hire a good staff and replace that staff as they move on?

Players often fight for holdovers and interim coaches. They value the familiarity.

Yeah the OC for the bills isn’t coming here to be the OC. Especially when he has that job in buffalo. Add on daboll is likely the chargers next head coach.

I know nothing about Riley, frankly.  But, I do know that he's a career NCAA guy.  How many of those have been successful in the NFL without any NFL experience prior to getting to wear the HC mantle?  I've got Jimmy Johnson on that list, buoyed by the stupidest trade in the history of the NFL.

He absolutely could flame out. There’s a lot of risk. But I’m willing to bet on upside. And I’m intrigued by this mysterious "great staff” he’s put together.

I’d take it with a grain of salt about Bevell. Those are the only two tweets about it and both non verified

The point is - it is utterly irrelevant that the players are pushing for him. He is their guy. Got it. It doesn’t impact my view positively or negatively.

The fact that no team has even interviewed him for an OC job after all these years - that means something. And we need change, not an even less powerful yes-man.

I can't argue against Joe Brady except to ask: is he ready?   I think he's a guy that has been sky rocketing, almost Sean McVay like in his meteoric rise.  It might be a case of him cutting his teeth on the first job and actually getting together in the next one.   Or, he might get a long enough line to get it right in the first stop after a bit of an adjustment period.

I wouldn't be against it at all.  I wouldn't expect it to be a smooth transition though.  I think there would be some hiccups.   But, I'd be interested to see what would happen.

no.   The QB coach is Ken Dorsey.  Daboll is the OC.   Dorsey would be likely the heir apparent to be OC in Buffalo, or could be a potential guy that Daboll might take with him.

My bad thought that said the bills OC not QB
