At least with Duce we could reward a lifelong Eagle.

Hiring an NFL coach shouldn't be like putting Rudy in for the last play.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Yeah... a lot of Mahomes success is because of Mahomes talent.  He didn't need a lot of work.  He Kafka's biggest achievement, and kafka's role in that is likely overstated.

Kafka is the yes man that lowie is looking for.  They don't want to hire anybody with a pair of cajones.   Lurie is jerrah Jones part 2.

I don't even think it's that because a Joe Brady or Duce would likely be happy just to get the opportunity as well. This is Howie and Lurie yet again being the ''smartest guys in the room,'' if true. Until/unless it happens I refuse to believe their hubris has gotten to that level.

Go ahead and inform them they are not please.  thanks.  Howie has't gotten anything right in a couple years.

Can you imagine those two getting up at the podium for a PC to introduce Kafka and saying with a straight face that he ''developed Patrick Mahomes.'' The fans would revolt.

I'm not the biggest Voracek fan, but I wish more Eagles players had the guts to do this.

Say what you will about his inconsistent play on the ice but Jake have always given zero Fs and said what was on his mind. Sielski is exactly what he called him, a straight up little twerp weasel.

Apparently we can interview them, just virtually.

The consensus guy who defers to coaches on talent insists on a yes man?  Sorry but as much as I want Howie gone, I don’t see that.

Lol

Not only will the team be pissed for not giving Duce the job after they lobbied for him so publicly, the media will also rip us for bypassing Eric Bienimy, a minority coordinator, for his white underling.

This is gonna be ugly.

So I’m trying to play this out...they interviewed Smith and were super impressed.

I have a hard time believing Kafka would be able to top that.

I'm simply not buying that Kafka will end up as the guy even if they were hoping he would be going into the process.

From Doug to Kafka, would be one hell of a downgrade.

I swear the Eagles have the most quotes you can take from a press conference that are ridiculous and can use against them for years.

pretty good listen on the QBs

Interesting thread to click on from a former NFL DB.

I don't think it's a secret that Chase doesn't create alot of separation which is a worry. He wins alot of balls just out physically college corners at the catch point. Not sure he'll be able to do the same against nfl dbs, Chase doesn't really have any elite traits hes not overly  fast he doesn't have elite size or length what he does well might not translate to pros especially if one is going to line him up at X against number 1 DBs and expect him to consistently win when he doesn't win with speed size or route running in college.

One can look at his former teammate jefferson whom isn't really fast or big either but he was an elite route runner in college and has shown to be one in the pros as well

Not sure chase can win the same way jefferson does as he hasn't shown that in college

This feels like when you know the main character in a movie is about to die, but you still watch and hope that he doesn't.

I fee like I might be the only guy who doesn't get the Brady hype. I didn't see much out of the Panthers this year that made me feel like he's the next McVay.

Would rather have someone like Daboll or Greg Roman.

I’m not sold on him. He sure feels like just a guy in the right place at LSU, and with the Panthers it wasn’t anything mind blowing. With that said, I’d prefer him over Duce or Kafka

John Clayton was on 973 espn in jersey says he’s been hearing that Jim Caldwell is looking like the guy in Houston.

The guy on the left would be a nobody if it wasn't for Mike Kafka!

Agreed

Who gives a ish what the players think?   It’s not their call.  You wanna hire a guy who is going to be around long enough that the current players will be a small part of his time here.  The whole Duce fascination is tired.

Given that we're rebuilding, if the current players don't like the new HC, they'll be former players in a year or two.

None of us have a clue about these guys, you're just following the local media, "let's pile on the FO even though we don't have a clue."

I mean look at the teams hiring HCs, why would you trust the FOs of those franchises?

As long as Lurie/Howie do their due diligence, they'll probably make as good or better decision as some franchises that have barely sniffed the playoffs for a decade.

I have no idea if Kafka or Brady are good options, and I won't pretend to know. But I'm pretty sure our beat writers and internet prognosticators have less of a clue.
