I am aware of that... he will be gone.  He's not yet.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Foles was sui generis, the RPO pass option was the only scheme (first under Chip, then Pederson) that he was ever successful running, it was clear that Wentz wasn't comfortable running that scheme. It fit Foles, it required quick decision making but limited progressions because there was only one or two receivers. I'd also point out that when Foles played well here, he had a stable pocket: 2013: Peters - Mathis - Kelce - Herremans - Lane didn't miss a game, 2017: Vaitai - Wisniewski - Kelce - Brooks - Lane, 2018, same group but with Peters at LT.

I don't think Wentz ever felt comfortable in the pocket, it wasn't just the pass rush, it was that the constant changing composition of the OL probably messed with his feel for the pocket, different lineman pass block differently, and he may never have been sure where the pocket would be. It also messed with the screen game, which requires both deception and coordination.

There are a lot of reasons and excuses that can be made for Wentz, but he also didn’t play well on his own accord. He didn’t see the field. He didn’t throw accurately. He often invited pressure. All the issues you mentioned don’t absolve him of his own share of the blame. It just means he wasn’t the only person at fault.

Wentz will start with a new HC b/c it's a reset, whatever went down with Pederson will be history.

Hopefully, the OL will be much better, the WRs will be better and the new HC will actually run the ball and balance the offense.

Wentz will be 28, he'll know the new HC has no loyalty to him, and in two years, his contract will no longer protect him, and if he hits the FA market at 30 after failing under a new coach, he's looking at backup QB jobs. So I think he'll be motivated to make it work, it's just a matter of the right chemistry.

Multiple sources

Does he even have ONE name? Nope. Just unconfirmed gossip. If you got something to say put your name on it.

You are both probably right re Alshon but I just can’t stand what I’m hearing about Carson. Especially added to the fact that he didn’t speak with Doug for weeks. He just sounds so immature and egotistical.

Having an ego is manageable when you are Aaron Rodgers but Carson Wentz isn’t even Donovan McNabb. His apparent lack of humility cost us several games this year and cost people (players and coaches) their livelihoods.

I just can’t stand the kid right now.

You’re only getting a perspective from people who have chosen to leak "information” to the media, based on their own bias.

Pat Kirwan was right when he said there is a big problem in the Eagles organization with leaking information, and firing Doug doesn’t do anything to fix those leaks.  Lurie needs to get rid of them; get his IT people to comb through electronic communication of all the FO staff at NovaCare, start following these players’ social media feeds — get rid of the rats

At this point with Carson, it's "Do what you're f***ing told." We tried it your way and you were the worst starter in the league.

Curious as to who the olineman was that went to howie about removing wentz. I’m guessing peters. Likely cause peters disliked everyone saying how awful he looked this year. And he has enough clout to do it. Would say kelce but kelce came to the forefront to defend wentz. And i believe lane did as well and was out most of the season. Peters was out but he came back as well. I don’t think it would be someone like mailata or herbig

Yep, that seems like the natural connection.

Yup it’s been an issue for years dating back to to the end of the reid era.

So Staley supposedly would bring Niners co-OC McDaniel as OC.

Wasn't he one of the candidates last year?

Amen.  Or better yet, keep your business in house.

Yeah, no.

This goes back all the way to the end of the reid era. It’s been the same type of crap that gets leaked. So it’s clearly someone in the organization allowing it or wanting it out there. Add on it’s permitted because there’s no repercussions from the eagles organization. Like I’m guessing the eagles have a pretty good idea who said it or where it came from. They also have their ability to get to the bottom of it and people they are connected to

Just so we are all clear... when exactly did they try it his way?  And how do you know it was "his" way?

I mean if you wanna talk about the character flaws of Wentz maybe you should also think about the character flaws of "un named" sources that want to take shots at him and talk about in house problems to a reporter behind the comfort of anonymity.

If I am a reporter getting dirt from the Eagles, I am not telling them who the fink is.

Come on, man, let's stop this. What exactly do you think Carson needs to be successful? An All-Pro team around him and Bill Belichick?

I'm so happy that the Flyers look outstanding. Will help this offseason for me lol.

Doesn’t have to be a beat reporter they get info from to figure it out. Additionally the eagles have also I’m guessing given some reporters good stories in return. Strong rumors to ESP having the desean gang relations story as coming from the eagles FO.

Howie having a fathead of Wentz in his office is so Howie. He’s such a dweeb.
