Funny story, lots of first time HCs in the NFL have a lot of success with their first team, even if they don't win the Super Bowl.   Most first time NFL HCs that don't have any success with their first job also don't have success with a second.  Andy Reid won a Super Bowl in his second city, but went to the Super Bowl with his first.  Gary Kubiak, in his second stop in Denver, after getting the Texans to the playoffs.  Pete Carroll also won it in his third stint, after building a successful program at USC in between 2nd and 3rd.  Tom Coughlin in NY after being successful in Jax.  Belichick, in his second stint (third if you count his press conference with the Jets) but got the lowly Browns to an 11-5 season before he was fired.   McDaniels got fired partway through his second season... that's dramatically different than these Super Bowl winning coaches that won in their second stint.

We just saw our first and only Brees-Brady playoff game and we will see the first and possibly only Brady-Rodgers playoff game.

I've never hidden, but there's plenty of empirical reasons to not like him as the guy.  And I've not heard a single rebuff to any of them.  Some guys just belong as coordinators.  Dick LeBeau, Wade Phillips, Norv Turner, plenty of others.  McDaniels had a shot, did nothing with it.  Any coach who is fired in week 10 of his second season has a lot of things to address before getting a second shot.   Any coach who gets a second shot, then leaves the team that offered him that shot hanging after agreeing to the job drops even lower on the totem pole.  26 games as HC, no winning season as HC, drafted Tebow in Round 1, walked out on a job, and seems to be generally disliked by his players.  I don't see the redeeming qualities that say, "but this time it will work".
