He had a second chance, and walked out on it, leaving them in the lurch.  

Who said I was pro-Kafka? or pro-Mayo?   I sure haven't said that I would support those moves as the new HC.  Mayo being interviewed for HC, but could still be an option for DC makes a TON of sense though.   Bringing in Daboll as HC, and Mayo as DC would make me much happier than Josh McDaniels.    Bieniemy has as much experience, and no HC baggage (but his own baggage from further back).  

And I don't care about the fact that it was 10 years ago.  Dumb 10 years ago is still dumb today.  Offenses based around a running QB is something I've been bashing for quite some time, and I will continue to point it out as stupid.   Mahomes proved just today how dangerous that is for no reason.

 

Why am I debating this with you... because you disregarded the opinion based on a perceived bias as the only reason that someone could possibly be against the hire of Josh McDaniels.   There are many other reasons besides anti-Patriots bias.

Daboll's a guy I like, but I don't think he's a slam dunk by any means either.

Tbh this period doesn't have a ton of great candidates, but it's better than 2016 was at least. I'd be fine with Riley/Daboll/Brady/McDaniels

I could be reading it wrong, but I think the coordinators would be dependent on who the HC is connected to (or should be, except Schwartz was hired before Doug... or at least before the announcement).   There might have been a handshake agreement in place before that.

Incorrect, they can interview via web chat. Just no live interview. And YES you wait. Your the last team with a HC opening so you have the luxury now to wait if you feel he could be the guy.

There could be multiple things at play here. Dean Spanos is a cheap ass. So he might not have money to pay the price that it would cost to get daboll. Daboll might also not want to move across the country as he’s from the area. Also might not want to be a HC right now. Which I think would be a mistake. You always leave as an assistant when you’re at your hottest. We don’t know if next year Josh Allen regresses or if the league adjusts and they struggle. Could be other things as well

Herbert really likes their current OC, Shane Steichen. I think there's a decent chance he stays on.

Eh the lions had Campbell in place before the end of the Saints season. I’m guessing they’d likely know but can’t release that they’ve hired him until after. I don’t think it’s daboll but i don’t think it’s for that reason. I believe the same thing happened with Matt Patricia and the lions
