I would have a lot more respect for Brees if he’d flipped the bird at Brady on the way to the locker room.

He would have won my heart.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I really don’t mind Brady now that he plays for the Bucs.

Brady please

He’s coming off a great year. Has a winning personality. And is a paragon of integrity. Get it done.

He is a damn Tool.

I still think that they will go with Duce Staley.

Duce - HC and they bring in Kafka as the OC (If he takes it...which could happen if Bieniemy stays in KC) and maybe Wade Phillips as the DC.

Daboll is a real possibility if Staley is going to the Chargers.

They will hire McDaniels. It will probably be announced by Tuesday. You don't spend an entire day and night with a candidate you don't have serious interest in hiring.

The ongoing McDaniels debate has brought a couple things to mind.

One, head coaches are like the least predictable thing in pro sports. Even less so than the draft. We simply have no idea who will be good and who won't, who will succeed when given another chance and who won't. And even guys that succeed or fail might be fool's gold based on their surroundings. Nonetheless, it's still fun to debate.

But the bigger thing. If people don't want McDaniels, that's fine. But I've talked to some friends and they don't want him because "He's a Patriot." And that stuff really strikes a chord with me. Let's be real, Philly is a city of losers. We just are. Two championships in the last 38 years. It's a Fing joke. For a city that rarely wins anything, Philly fans are the pickiest fans I've ever seen in my life. They always have very particular criteria of the people they want to win.

"Don't sign this guy, he's a former Cowboy!"

"Don't bring in James Harden, he's selfish!"

"I don't want that guy, he used to play for the METS, YUCK!"

"That guy's not tough enough, keep him off the Flyers!"

Maybe, just maybe, if Philly sports(fan and teams alike) cared more about winning instead of just filling arbitrary quotas, we'd win more titles in this town. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of being behind LA, NY, and Boston. Those cities and their ownerships go for broke. All the Fing time. And more often than not it pays off. Meanwhile in Philly, we're winning one championship every 20 years and haggling over NBA superstars.

And this is irrespective to McDaniels, but a discussion about him sparked the diatribe.

How long do they have to wait to interview him? Is the window closed until BUF’s season is over?

Was that Avonte Maddox covering Bree’s kid?

Lord, I hope the next coaching staff can evaluate talent a lot better than this last one did.  Maddox, just handed a job as outside CB

😪

Only thing that would turn me against McDaniels is that rumored coaching staff. I want nothing to do with Matt Patricia. Same thing goes for Adam Gase as anything more than a position coach.

I think after the AFC Championship game even if they win.

Wanting McDaniels because he's yelled at Brady is the dumbest reason to hire a HC

I’ll let you know how my interview goes, if that’s the criteria

If Wentz looks better next year, Kafka gone for a HC job.  Then we are back to square 1.

I assume the interviews of Duce Staley and Jerod Mayo have fulfilled the Eagles requirements toward minority coaching interviews

I want to bash anything that Lowie does, but I actually prefer retreads after coaching failure to retreads after success.

AR supplanted Belichick as the best coach in the NFL after he bottomed out here.  Belichick had to fail too before he became the best coach in NFL history.

The right hire might not be the first-run so-called genius, but the guy who was billed as that 2-3 coaching cycles ago, was humbled, and is now just crawling back up the ranks for that chance again.

I don't know enough about the individuals to name names, but you know the group I'm talking about.

So?  Obviously they are going to hire the person they feel will do the best job...and one of main issues is "fixing Wentz".  So if Wentz "looks better" that means it was the "right hire".

And that could potentially happen with any OC we hire if he "fixes Wentz".  That's why teams don't worry about "losing him if he does a good job" when hiring coaches.   Their goal (whether indirectly or not) when hiring coaches is for other teams to want those coaches, after they have had success here.

Duce doesn’t count but Saleh does, so yes. They also have to fulfill the rule for both coordinators now also

And the other goal is to have either a HC or a QB who is good enough that they can sustain their success as assistant coaches leave and ascend the ranks.

Wentz has already failed that test.  And if the OC is responsible for doing the fixing instead of the HC, then you might as well make the OC your HC.

Lol, lets not act like Baltimore's defense are world beaters this year.  Even our offense, pathetic as it was this season, looked far better against the Ravens defense than Daboll's did last night.  So yeah, you'll have to forgive me if I'm not ready to proclaim him as the next offensive coaching mastermind just yet.

I'm not either.

But it was windy yesterday which makes it tough to pass and have an explosive offense.  Even the Ravens kicker Justin Tucker who is as automatic as there is, missed 2 FGs.

So because they didn't meet your expectations yesterday, the guy sucks.., Ok, got it 👌

Are you suggesting they bring in a brand new head coach without an O.C.?   That would likely never happen...especially with a new head coach.

If they brought in Patricia then they'd have to trade Slay.

No way those 2 would work together.

There are no masterminds or geniuses here.  There are just intersections of good fundamental coaching, good talent, and the common sense taking advantage of the loopholes the league has blatantly placed for offensive football.

The intersection of those 3 things is surprisingly rare.
