No I don't and talk about lazy narrative. People have given you plenty of reasons why they don't want him and all you can come back with is hezzzz fromzzzz new englandzzzzz.

Give us a break.

I really couldn’t give a flying F that he coached for New England. Frankly i don’t care for any team besides the eagles. If the eagles hired kellen Moore i wouldn’t hate that hire because he coached for the cowboys. And i hate the cowboys more than any team in the league. It means literally nothing to me where they come from if i believe they are a good coach. If the eagles got sean Payton who i dislike as a person it wouldn’t bother me to have him as HC cause i know he is good. This its cause he’s from New England is ridiculous. I hated Matt Patricia as a head coach when the lions hired him cause i thought he was a fraud using belichick’s coattails. And he was.

i dislike mcdaniels for the crap he pulled with the colts. He went through the entire coaching process and then screwed then over. It wasn’t just screwing them over he waited until after the colts sent the press release and everyone knew. Also Benjamin solak nailed it with his take that literally his biggest accomplishment without Brady was Kyle Orton being the 20ish DVOA QB. And he had to deal with orton because he made a trade with cutler and then pissed off the rest of the organization to the point where he got fired 12 games into the season.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

And ....

this coaching search is almost as depressing as the last...i feel like its going to drag out for a few more weeks and we'll either get some retread or an internal hire. Not having high hopes for this team moving forward at this point

Pretty amusing that whoever gets hired as Eagles head coach — no matter who it is who gets hired as Eagles head coach — he will only get hired because nobody else wanted the job

As expected.  Others like Saleh may have taken the interviews for leverage.

To consider the Eagles job, a sought after candidate would be able to demand extremely high wages.

Daboll not interested, too funny. This was the "fix” since the benching.

It does?  Last HC was blown out 3 years after winning the Super Bowl, after one year missing the playoffs.  HC before that was blown out after 3 years, only 1 was a losing season... other 2 were double digit wins.   And the constabt is that Howie survives the guys he hires, each time.  Howie has security.  The HC does not.

(Btw, I believe both Chip and Doug deserved to be fired, but it shows a lack of security for the new HC.)

For the current state of the roster? Yes. Of all the new openings, which team would be less likely to fire the new Head Coach if they won only 10 total games over the next two years? I think it's reasonable, given the built-in excuses for the next two years, to assume that it would be this team.

Getting fired for cause is a very big deal.

He got fired for the video tape scandal, didn’t he? He may have had success in Denver if not for that.

He was fired 2/3rds of the way through the 2010 season after going 3-9.

Imagine if this one fails how the next one is going to be.

Ok...I've asked numerous times.  Dig your heels in.  I'll continue to be opened minded.....(at least on this issue).

Well maybe you think you're open minded but you certainly aren't since you have lumped us into hating him because he's from New England. If he get's hired here I will have an open mind until then I hope he's not the guy.

It’s a sad day when we would be lucky to get McDaniels. The disaster and the booing that we have to look forward to next season will be biblical. Might as well fire Howie now and blame him for the fail coach we are getting instead of waiting another two years.

I'm not sure how that's the reasoning. The only one that I thought was a potentially very good candidate that they missed on was Smith.  Who has turned them down for the job?

I could care less if he screwed over another franchise.  If he because a good HC no one else in Philly would care either.  I'm sure no one in NE cares that Belicheck did the same thing to NYJ.

Kind of like last time...

And belichick is the norm of coaching hires? Ans belichick also had some success with the browns before they decided to move them to Baltimore and it got derailed. And it was two franchises he’s screwed Broncos ask their fans about chip before chip Kelly. And the colts. Also no success without the greatest QB in nfl history. Still waiting on mcdaniels to have an average offense without Brady. If he does it in Philadelphia it would be his first.

Remember that most people hated the Doug hire and that turned out alright in 2017.  Generally, we are going to be disappointed no matter who it is.  It's the Philly way.

From his wiki:

According to The Denver Post, the videotaping incident was a major factor in McDaniels' firing a week later; while the Broncos did not deem it something that merited being fired for cause, they considered his failure to report the incident "unforgivable."[15]

Guys — if we’re going to pin blame on McDaniels for drafting Tim Tebow, let’s go ahead and pin Jalen Hurts on Doug Pederson — for consistency

Wasn't it reported that Hurts was actually a Howie/Lurie pick?   Reason being; they regretted not drafting Wilson and they weren't going to make that mistake again?

Howie wasn't in charge of anything in 2014, Chip controlled everything (micro-manager if I ever saw one).

Even in 2013, you can see his influence in 4 PAC-10 picks out of 8, though that probably was more consensus, as they weren't reaches.

Ertz #35, Barkley #98, Kruger #212, Poyer #218.

Next season Huff and Hart out of Oregon, Reynolds out of Stanford.

If he did, then why the big power play after 2014, if he already had full control?   Just spite then?  He wanted Huff earlier than he was drafted, he wanted Hart in Round 3.  He had to wait.  Maybe that was his issue, but he wasn't running the show then, Howie was.  Otherwise, Hart would have been a 3rd round pick.  Nice narrative, but it doesn't actually fit.   Now, you can say that Howie was leaning towards giving him the players he was asking for, but you can't say he was running the show and controlled everything in 2014.  That's just unprovable.

True but Doug didn’t bring the baggage and pos attitude of a McDaniels he was just a schlub.

I'm guessing if he was 9-3 he wouldn't have been fired.

The emoji was sarcasm that everyone missed I guess .....

Theyve interviewed plenty of qualified coaches, haven’t been turned down by any coaches they’ve made offers to, and outside of Daboll (possibly?) haven’t been declined an offer to interview by any coaches.

The eyerolling emoji is preemptive due to the reaction that will be .....

Hopefully Josh bamboozles us like he did the Colts

No one knows but it doesn't matter in terms of evaluating McDaniels.

It's just different baggage to most people.  I don't love the McDaniels hire, but I have accepted that it is likely him or Duce.  Neither are exciting.

Sorry, I have a hard time writing Chips name... what a piece of garbage in every sense he was.  Of course that is who I meant!

Doug was whatever the opposite of empowered is.... he was emasculated.  What they did to him last year with Groh etc., was just sad.  I wonder if they installed a time clock for Doug and made him clock in and out.

Two idiots parroting buzz words to each other giving one another credit for LVII while the team implodes.  Go hire an "innovative" coach that will 100% abide by your analytics and re-arrange the draft board again guys.  The QB factory needs some raw materials... lets see who we got at 6th overall....

Problem is... the guy the Eagles identified will likely be drafted at #3, #4 or #5.   Just can't be helped and there won't be any other players worthy of being selected at all in the draft that could even contribute to the team in a significant way.
