Never said that.  And again....I am not going to pick apart schemes and recent lack of success of any of these coordinators as candidates.  We are hiring a Head Coach not a scheme.  You can cherry pick negatives for any candidate.

I could however when one has shown no ability to just have an average offense in the nfl without Brady and the Has a scandal that leads to him getting fired, pisses of multiple organizations and his offenses without Brady have been bottom half of the league that seems to be enough for negative to outweigh the good.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

It's just different baggage to most people.  I don't love the McDaniels hire, but I have accepted that it is likely him or Duce.  Neither are exciting.

They should be able to have discussions with Bieniemy right after Bowles this week.  If there are any second interviews after that, then perhaps we can assume McDaniels isn’t happening

I'm guessing if he was 9-3 he wouldn't have been fired.

Definitely has his faults. He got rid of Cutler, Peyton Hillis, and Brandon Marshall.

Either way if he’s our guy then we just have to hope he can turn Wentz around.

I don’t want Beiniemy but given what’s out there ....

wtf happened with Joe Brady?

Naw it’s going to be mcdaniels. They want someone who’s worked with QBs. He fits that.

Meh....we'll just hire Duce anyway.  Cause it's easy and safe.

Just saying i didn’t want duce either.

Right but we aren’t getting Sean Payton we are getting Duce Bowles or McDaniels.

On one hand, I get why Bieniemy is upset and coordinators in his position have gotten HC jobs.

On the other, I wouldn't hire him for this job. Not only does he have an ambiguous role, but he had character concerns years ago (not a major disqualifier on its own, but a factor). And, of course, I'm done with the Reid tree.

But again, he absolutely deserves a shot...just not here.

At some point you have to figure the league knows he isnt that good

Getting fired for cause is a very big deal.

Well, the Eagles just fired Doug, and according to the person who did it, he didn't deserve to be fired.  So, there's always that... 🤥

We will see how it plays out over the next few days.  I don't see any of these people as very exciting, but what do any of us really know about what is/isn't necessary for success.

What about Leslie Frazier? He was mentioned on GFM this morning for the Teans.

OMG.  You are still on the NE thing.  OK.  I have moved on to questioning other reasons why people don't like him as a candidate.  But you lock in on one thing.  Sorry I offended.  Yeah...no obsession about NE at all...

Well no other reason is good enough for you your highness. I think it might be you that's obsessed with New England.

Sounds like a wrongful termination suit in the making

Jay Cutler cried his way out of DEN; there was rumor of a trade for Matt Cassel.  Cutler asked McDaniels, McDaniels denied it, Cutler didn’t believe him because .... he’s Jay Cutler, and put his house on the market 10 days later.

Brandon Marshall has also shown to be a kook in other stops

From Caplan and Mosher

Quote

Josh McDaniels

Caplan: "A couple of days before the actual interview, I’d heard the Eagles were on him. Let’s get into the weeds here, we’re gonna call this down the middle, folks. I don’t know Josh McDaniels, I’ve never met him, but we’re gonna give you detailed information.

Let’s go back to Denver when he was head coach – 32 years old, head coach of the Broncos with full personnel control. Absolute mistake by ownership, they never should have done it; way too much to give a guy. This was Sean McVay before McVay. It was too much too soon, he did not do a good job there. We know about Tim Tebow, that was a mistake. His evaluation of Tebow was way off.

"[I talked to] Jim Miller, who was a Patriot and was coached by Josh – I talked to a bunch of people who’ve worked with him. He’s a brilliant guy, but there’s baggage. You can’t deny it, because it’s a fact. He had issues in Denver, there’s some stuff out there, if you wanna read about him, go ahead. "He’s a brilliant guy, his development of the slot receiver is legendary. It came from, a Patriots source told me, in a meeting that they had before they traded for Wes Welker from the Dolphins. Belichick saw the future of the slot position – they’re gonna control the middle of the field, plus obviously Gronk, with the tight end. Josh was the one who developed that slot position with Wes Welker then later the great Julian Edelman – and obviously Gronk. So, the guy’s a pretty darn good coach.

Now, we have the Denver stuff, which is a big negative. And the other negative – the agreeing to a deal with the Colts to be their head coach then backing out of it hours after. The thing that pissed the Colts off – they announced it! You can’t do that.”

Mosher: "My initial reaction was that Jeffrey’s been enamored with that New England offense for a long time. He’s always talked about it, obviously it’s been an elite offense, so here’s a chance to bring in a guy who has all the knowledge of how it runs, and as you mentioned, his development of the slot position. "So I started calling around a little bit, and later that night, one of my better sources around the league said, ‘You know what, McDaniels to Philly – there’s a lot of buzz about that. There’s people who think that this thing can really happen.'"

Caplan: "There’s not a lot of names left, but if you look at the guys that would make sense and fit what they’re looking for, I would put Josh McDaniels at the top of the list for fit and coaching experience. I know it didn’t go well for him in Denver – at least he’s been a head coach before. The issue there is the baggage.”

Had anyone else interviewed McD?

Yeah not quite. Mcdaniels said you’d never trade someone like cutler. He’s rare. Then he said a couple days later never rule it out. Which then cutler got ticked off.

Yeah sorry, not sorry. You'd have to do more to convince me the Eagles haven't been bad at drafting wr's, when this is the list we have drafted Since the last decent WR we took (Self Tacklin Maclin), Aggy and Cooper are not ringing endorsements of your great WR draft prowess, and yes Reagor still could develop, but we need to face facts. We suck at drafting WR.  You would think with all those picks, you would have hit on at least one? Even a blind squirrel will find a nut once and a while.

Riley Cooper - 2418 yards, 18 TDs, not bad for #159

McNutt

JMatt - 3288 yards, 24 TDs, #42

Josh Huff

Agholor - 3411, 26 TDs #20

Mack Hollins (AKA Matt Collins), #118, 4th WR for Miami, ST specialist

Shelton Gibson #166

Jjaw

Reagor

Hightower

Watkins

Let alone just plain bad drafting of picks Like Jones, Hurts, Pumphrey.

Now let's look at some WR drafts:

2015:  #4 Cooper - 6,211  38 TD; #7 White - 285, 0; #14 Parker - 4212, 22; #20 Agholor, #26; Perriman 2066, 14; #29 Dorsett 1634, 11; #37 Smith 248, 2; #40 DGB 941, 6

#69 Lockett, 4892, 37; #70 Strong 330, 4; #76 Conley 2484, 13, #87 Coates 528, 2, #94 Montgomery 1009, 3, #105 Crowder 4160, 26, #146 Diggs 6158, 38, #204 Waller (now TE)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darren_Waller   WR converted to TE, so don't scoff at Butler

2016:  #15 Coleman 789, 5; #21 Fuller 3110, 24; #22 Doctson 1110, 8; #23 Treadwell 750, 4; #40 Shepard 3518, 20; #47 Thomas 5950, 22; #55, Boyd 3743, 19; #85 Miller 261, 2;

#85 Carroo 192, 2; #165 Hill 5391, 47

2017:  #5 Davis 2851, 11; #7 Williams 2856, 11; #9 Ross 733, 10; #37 Jones 1338, 10; #40 Samuel 2087, 14; #62 Smith-Shuster 3726, 26, #69 Kupp 3570, 24; #72 Taylor 697, 2

#79 Stewart 82, 0; #82 Henderson; #84 Goodwin 3540, 24; #96 Golladay 3068, 21; #98 Williams 202, 1

Sure. It just seems a bit reminiscent of chip getting rid of all our guys here. Though he wouldn’t be given that much personnel control here, so it could work.

Not since he burned Indy.  He's viewed as damaged goods around the league.  Perfect fit for this team, honestly.

Hire Jason Garrett. Dak enters Free agency and sign him. That would awesome

Did anyone else interview Doug? That worked out for us.

Caplan loses a lot of credibility in his stance by saying "first Wes Welker, followed by the great Julian Edelman” .... Welker was so far above Edelman as a player, there is almost no comparison
