Yeah not quite. Mcdaniels said you’d never trade someone like cutler. He’s rare. Then he said a couple days later never rule it out. Which then cutler got ticked off.

Didn't Cutler put his house up on the market before McD said anything about trading him though? God, feels like an eternity ago

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Belicheck tree sucks outside of Saban in college. Of course they will hire him.

Cutler is Cutler, and his reputation is almost universal.  If McDaniels wanted him gone, McDaniels was right.  If McDaniels wanted Marshall gone, McDaniels was right.

You’re on the wrong side of that argument.

No one knows but it doesn't matter in terms of evaluating McDaniels.

So why make the comparison then?

Did anyone else interview Doug? That worked out for us.

Oh, it absolutely did.  After interviewing Schwartz to replace Doug after 2016, trying to fire Reich and cause all kinds of stir.     The more that comes out about this team over the last 8 years, the more that Super Bowl just seems like an absolutely fluke outcome.  All the stars were aligned and the gravitational pull was just right.  Nearly everything after it has been a complete disaster, and frankly, if some of the things they wanted to do prior to it had worked out, it never would have happened at all.  Hire Gase instead of Doug.  Fire Doug and move Schwartz into HC position.  Fire Reich.

Rumor on the Tennessee message board is that if Tee Martin wasn't involved in the recruiting shenanigans, then he would be a leading candidate.  Which could be interesting, since he is a great recruiter.  He might get caught up in this.  Another guy would be Hugh Freeze.  He's a quality person.

The two bolded statements might be linked.  I say this with no knowledge of any of it... but if its true that he was involved in recruiting shenanigans, then maybe that's why he's a great recruiter.

Who stopped them?

If the Eagles hire McDaniels, odds Jeff Lurie mentions the 500+ yards of offense against the Eagles in the Super Bowl in his opening statement?

I didn't.

-500

Maybe Carson should have shoulder surgery like Brees did.

Exactly. They only let him go because of that.

Better yet, I never heard reports of Drew being a turd of a person and not being coachable (and he had reason to be upset as the Chargers drafted Phil early in the first Round).

Same as the odds the pope is Catholic

The Football Gods answered our prayers but I had to sacrifice the next 10 years of watching this team.

Great question.  Maybe they just didn't like the interview with Schwartz.   Or maybe they didn't want to deal with the PR hit of firing a HC a year after firing a HC with only 1 losing season on his record.   Or maybe they thought waiting a year, they'd have a shot at a more innovative mind like LaFleur, once he got a taste of being OC in LA with McVey.

I can't wait for them to hire McDaniels and he brings Patricia in as a DC just to see Slay's head explode.

That's pretty much what I meant.  But was too busy thinking about a work issue that got in my head.  I'll do better.

Work should never interfere with EMB.   We need to keep our priorities straight.

I would be on the wrong side of the argument except for Jay Cutler got to an NFC title game at home where As Josh McDaniels trying to get Kyle orton to be good and he was 20ish in DVOA like that’s an accomplishment? Not really the wrong side of the argument. I much rather have Jay Cutler‘s career in Chicago then try to win with Kyle Orton because I thought I could get Matt Cassel who stunk elsewhere. And on top of that get busted for a videotaping scandal and everyone in the Broncos organization and that roster hated him to the point they fired him after 12 games his final year there

yes that’s the right side of the argument the guy who had a scandal and was caught, team hated him and chose Kyle orton/potential of cassel

Well, with any luck Slay has some trade value left and they can get out from under some of that stupid contract.

Lol thats because nobody in San Diego cares about football. I don't know if you've noticed, but the Philly media are very snake like.

Well, the Eagles just fired Doug, and according to the person who did it, he didn't deserve to be fired.  So, there's always that... 🤥

I think the difference is the Eagles will still keep paying Doug and Pruitt is likely going to get very little of what he may be owed under his contract.

Phil? The Chargers didn't actually draft Rivers.

Devonta Smith at #3 would be so, so, so good for us.

So that the 6' contested catch WR with one season of productivity falls to us?  Or so that we can draft a QB?

So... if McDaniels is hired, Matt Patricia is the DC and Gase is the OC.... this will be a very weird turn of events.

Suckers bet. Of course he will, also, the word "Tremendous" will be uttered by Lurie at least 5 times.
