I love how they always mention that one guy who DOES NOT have an interview scheduled, Like, honestly that list could have 1000 names and you could include yourself on that list, but we must bring up ONE GUY.  SMH

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Is it sad that I hope Todd Bowles knocks it out of the park so the Eagles don’t hire McDaniels?

Seriously, why even consider it if the rumor is to have Gase and Patricia around the team?

Gase - The guy who has ruined more QBs than concussions these playoffs.

Patricia - The egomaniac who everyone on the Lions team cheered for his firing. Great idea to bring him back to Slay who hated his guts.

Adam Gase is still living off of look at what Peyton Manning did with the Broncos in 2013 and 2014.

Again another assumption you think Jeffrey Lurie is going to fire howie if this goes wrong. I’m of the assumption lurie is also responsible for hiring this coach so if it goes wrong it is also on him. And he will likely spinet someway somehow to keep howie are around.

May not fire him, but every man has their breaking point to quote Red from Shawshank Redemption. Anything with the downside of bringing Lurie closer to that point is a win.

I mean, it certainly wouldn't help Howie, that's for damn sure.

There is some reason why Bienemy isn't getting interviews and it isn't because of his skin color.

I wouldn’t love the hire is an understatement. I’m willing to give him a chance however the amount of people who think he has less questions about him than daboll is pure ridiculousness.

At least I know daboll left New England and went elsewhere and had success without Tom Brady and belichick. I can’t say the same thing about McDaniels. Because of four times he hasn’t had Tom Brady he’s failed.  And daboll has questions about him too. I have never said he’s the perfect candidate. he has flaws as well. Like is this season with Josh Allen just lightning in a bottle, is Dorsey to thanm for Allen’s improvements as a QB, did rid the wave of New England and bama. Joe Brady also has questions about him. However Josh McDaniels also has a list of things going against him that people like to make excuses for. Like people get mad about the wentz excuses lord go read the excuses the past day with mcdaniels shortcomings.

I agree man. He blew the whole Denver team up and alienated everyone. He has major red flags.

The eagles are a mess. Let’s be honest nobody wants to coach here. Imagine having to deal with Roseman everyday JFC no thank you

To be fair, most teams go after new head coaches because the teams went to hell.

It wouldn’t. And I don’t disagree with you there’s always a breaking point. However this could be Jeffrey Lurie saying this is the guy I want. He has the most power in the organization so Really the head coach is his decision. And based off track record howie has survived Multiple regimes. Which tells me if something goes wrong he still likely to be here

He carries the same stigma as Duce — only ever been a RB coach on a coaching staff where his say in actual game plan and offensive scheme is minimal.

Duce is actually a better candidate in many ways because his character would seem to be much better.

Chip and McDaniels are nothing alike.

I completely disagree man. His Denver tenure was a complete clown show. Here are some quotes.

On why it did not work out:

I tell people to this day, I’ve never been more prepared for a game, ever, on any level of my career than being with Josh McDaniels. But, he didn’t have that extra factor that would make guys wanna run through walls. When it really gets tough, and it’s hurting, you can’t go anymore, and you just wanna stop? There are some coaches or teammates that are bigger than you, you just throw yourself in front of there, you jump on that grenade, and you just, it doesn’t matter what happens to you because this is for a bigger cause. And I don’t think, he was there with Belichick, and he got all the knowledge, and Belichick kinda seems standoffish, but a lot of guys that I know that have played with him, when it’s one-on-one with him, he’s relatable; you can talk to him. I don’t think Josh McDaniels learned that yet. I think Josh took all the knowledge and got that and came here with all the knowledge. And that’s why we were successful in the beginning and won those games. But when it hit the fan and things got tough? Guys didn’t want to go that extra mile for him. So, I honestly see Josh going down the road and becoming a head coach again. And I think his second time around, he’s gonna get it, he’s gonna understand it.

On if he enjoyed played for McDaniels:

No, I didn’t. Listen, I didn’t enjoy playing for him because it’s like, you take that course in school; it all depends on the professor. It could be the easiest class, or it could be the hardest class. If this professor wants to give you pop quizzes, randomly essays, this and that, it’s gonna be the hardest class ever. If your professor is a professor that, "hey, we’re gonna give a quiz on Friday, we’re gonna go over the subjects on Wednesday and Thursday, and talk about it,” it’s smooth. And Josh was that type of guy that to me, made football tougher than it had to be. Cuz, it’s already so tough. And what I didn’t like about him was our fun was scripted. So it’s not really fun, it’s not really enjoyable. It’s like, "hey, look at us right now, we’re enjoying ourselves, and we got ten minutes free time.” But, we knew about it a month in advance, so it’s not fun.

Champ Bailey:

He didn’t come in trying to earn respect, he demanded it,” Champ Bailey, the Broncos’ defensive captain and Broncos all-timer, told FS1. "And you have to earn respect. He rubbed a                 lot of people the wrong way in the building, in the organization. We felt very relieved when he left the locker room.”

There are tons of players quotes and stories on this guy. He demanded complete personnel control and blew up the Denver Broncos up. Not relatable to players. This isn't a good hire....

Then if it flames out we still get a top draft pick out of it hopefully. The last thing I want to be is middling.

McDaniels could be a top offensive mind that brings productive offenses back to Philly. And if he’s awful then maybe he indirectly brings a top offense back to Philly by putting is in the position to draft a QB at the top of a draft if things go really bad. Either way, I want a gamble hire on offense. It’s why Riley, Brady, and him were atop my list.

You are assuming we don’t screw up those picks. You very easily could also just be meddling in bad like the browns continued to do for years until now.

Maybe Deshaun Watson declined to interview him

I remember seeing these signs during his tenure in Denver.

I'm sold.

That’s why i said last night when you are the hot candidate and big name jump. If Allen regresses and the bills aren’t nearly as good then people will have more questions about him then this year coming off this high. It’s a risk. i don’t expect Allen to drop off though. However i also didn’t expect wentz to look as bad as he did this year.

Could screw em up, but I'd rather take my chances at the top of the draft than at the middle. My general philosophy in sports is be really good or really bad. I'm so over being in the middle all the damn time. Give me hope for a parade or give me hope for a franchise-changing blue chip talent. Give me something to look forward to. That's all I ask.

Just pointing out cutler got to a nfc title game while mcdaniels wanted cassle and went with orton. So those two also sucked but sucked worse than cutler for their careers. And I’m not saying cutler was good at all. However his solution wasn’t very good either.

Dude, this was a *decade* ago. Does you not think he's changed or capable of growing and learning from his mistakes? He may be the same a-hole he was then, but I'd be willing to hire him and find out. What's the worst that could happen? Waste Cameron Johnston years? Do you think the Eagles are *this* close that hiring the wrong guy could really ruin the stellar roster we have?
