Yep, he has no clue what the F he is talking about and listening to him talk is ear bleed inducing.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

After hiring him, we won't even be able to call the Pats out for cheating anymore, as our HC will be one as well.

We can heckle are own team because we can’t even Fing cheat right.

McDaniels bailing on the Eagles in 2 weeks will be great.

These aren't exactly novel concepts.

And the team sucked this season without Brady actually executing the offense.

Malarkey!!! We are going to lose ertz. How do you expect us to run the wave of the future in the nfl of 12 personnel without two good tight ends.......

I agree Pitts should be the pick.

My favorite argument against McDaniels is how his offenses weren't very good when he didn't have Brady as if offensive coaches are usually good with bad QB's.

Brady’s offense without mcdaniels since 2006: offensive dvoa 1st, 1st and 4th....

Looks like a great prospect, but it’s pretty tough to justify a TE this high for a team that needs good players at positions that are much harder to fill. You can get quality athletic pass catching TEs in the 2nd-4th rounds pretty reliably.

He’s not my favorite guy at 6 but I can see someone taking him in the top ten. His receiving skills are that good.

Ahh what a crap show next season will be.  My prediction is that we go 8-8 and McDaniels gets full roster say.  Also Howie has to move back to the Spadaro side of the Nova Care center.

So you’re saying Doug wasn’t to blame for the offense sucking this season?

In fairness it was likely not going to be pretty next year anyway cause they likely have little cap to spend after they get under the cap and are starting a rebuild.

If McDaniels gets the head coach job I want him to punch Joe Judge in the side of the head right after the first Giants game

Well, yeah, but he went to Denver and we know what happened. Then he came home and had Brady, walked on the Colts, then back to Brady. 12 goes to Tampa, and the Pats have a horrendous season. Makes it hard to assess an OC. Their options seem limited because of Lurie, so I guess they are stuck with him.

McDaniels did fine with Cassell, he turned Orton into a NFL QB for the only two years of his career, but died in LA without talent and last year in NE without talent.

In other words, he can coach but he can't perform miracles.

Kyle Orton’s 2008 in Chicago where he was 9-6 had 18 tds and 12 ints or his 2014 where Kyle orton was 7-5 with 18 tds and 10 ints. Completed in those two years combined 61 percent of his passes. Had QB ratings of 80 and 88.  Those two season werent far off from his 21 and 12 his first year in Denver and not far off from his 20 and 9 int his second year where he combined for 60% completion. His QB rating was 87 and 87.5. So comparatively 87.5 in Denver and those other two seasons 84. So not a big time difference. (Orton didn’t play all 16 games in 2008, 2010 or 2014– played his least amount in 2014). And those two years in Denver he had pro bowl WR in Brandon Marshall and lloyd made the pro bowl. He did have more passing yards that really didn’t translate in to many more TDs and the Broncos had a better offensive roster then bears in 2008 or buffalo in 2014. So I guess 2008 and 2014 didn’t exist in orton’s career...

also wasn’t LA was St. Louis and he actually had Bradford for 10 games and at that point Bradford’s second season where people still thought he was going to be special after being drafted No. 1. Also had Brandon Lloyd coming off a 1400+ season and Steven jackson. Meanwhile brian schottenheimer with basically the same bad team minus Brandon Lloyd who went to New England. So the lack of talent around him the very next year but schottenheimer had Bradford playing competent. Improved his completion percentages from 53.5 with mcdaniels to 58.5. His qb rating from 70 to 83. 21 tds to 13 ints. Meanwhile Bradford was on pace with mcdaniels over 16 games for 10 tds and 10 ints. So DVOA for Bradford and the offense was 32nd with mcdaniels and the very next year with scottenheimer 16th in offensive DVOA. So does this make schottenheimer a genius cause with bad talent, Bradford (minus his best wr from the previous year in Lloyd) and the offense were at least mediocre?

im willing to give him a chance to see why he can do with wentz/hurts and this roster. But some of his downfalls and failures are on him. Just pointing out pat shurmur got more out of Bradford as a rookie with a team that went 1-15 the season before than mcdaniels

If we trade down and draft a TE.  I would be livid.  Ridiculous idea.  On so many levels.

I actually think the eagles unless they are dealing wentz and take a QB (i tend to doubt this highly) that it might behoove them to trade back and get extra picks. I’m guessing Sewell is gone and at 6 and possibly not an OL available that’s worthy of 6(slater could). I am not sure i love surtain or Farley enough to select them at 6. The possibility that chase or smith are the best player on the board. As much as i would love to have either one of them, the trade value for a team who loves them might offer a nice haul to move back especially with this roster being depleted of good young talent.

This might of mentioned already so my bad if it was. Just passing this along, not my personal take but I thought it was worth noting because it means Sewell could be a stronger possibility at 6 for us.

Benjamin Solak dropped a new mock draft & in it he has a new OT1 in Rashawn Slater out of I believe Northwestern going to Atlanta. He referenced Daniel Jeremiah, Lance Zierlein, & Matt Miller as people whom have all mentioned a possibility of Slater going over Sewell. I don’t think much of Miller, but Jeremiah & Zierlein are very good at what they do. FWIW he then had Sewell going to Cincy at 5.

Actually, cam was playing pretty well to start the season. Once he went out with COVID he was never the same. Missing wide open guys and throwing to spots where no one was. He started trying to force throws and run more near the end of the season.

How? Luire interviewed him.

The Blog tonight:  "seems like McDaniels is the guy”.

A little early since he still very well might be a bad candidate and no one said that he wouldn't be the guy.  Also you aren't the only one that wanted him in "the blog" (no I didn't).

Not in on the interviews, so I really don’t have a take on who performed well and who didn’t.  I do wonder if anyone besides Lurie and Howie attended interviews.  For example, who might be coaches that are retained with a new coach?  I am guessing Peelle and Stout.  Would they be in interviews?  I would do that occasionally when interviewing persons for management roles

We will find out who were strictly Doug guys and who might be organization guys with the retentions they make.  Coaches like Bartrum, Vasseo, the Pagnetti brothers, for example. Are they sending Harper and Ollie to the Senior Bowl as eyes or to allow them interview opportunities? Both stayed last year when the lead position coach changed.

Food for thought.  Not really great success of AR OCs as HCs. One of the reasons AR left was his loyalty to coaches like Juan kind of limited his coaching contacts kind of withered after a while.  While the wunderkids are interesting, after watching Doug’s very limited coaching contacts do a similar nosedive here, maybe someone with more longevity in the NFL coaching ranks makes more sense.  Who knows?
