I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I am starting to lean that way myself... and it makes me very very sad.

For a TE to be taken at #6, he needs to be 6'8",  280 lbs and run a 4.39 40, and be the best at blocking, Catching and route running.

I can dream cant I LOL

What about the time where Ty Detmer brought us down on MNF against the Cowboys only for Chris Bonoil to screw it up?

Forever earning him the nickname Chris  BLOWniol

I am less opposed to Mcdaniels than most, simply because none of us know that much about what these assistants are all about.  I like that his "proximity resume" includes Belichick and Brady.  For every concern that he was just along for the ride, there is also the hope that he can do things the way they did.  Sure, Belichick's coaching tree is littered with failures hired due to proximity status, but so is everyone else's.  That's why this is a guessing game.

I don't really blame him for the Pats offense this year.  I think they made a huge mistake going with Cam instead of someone who passes at the level of an NFL qb and should have switched to Stidham by mid-year, but that was a Belichick level decision.  They also had a complete lack of weapons.  For all of Belichick's genius, he was never very good at drafting WRs.  Granted, that's the offense he's stepping into right now in Philly.  But he's not here to turn around this offense.  He's here to build a new one.

I do find it concerning that he has not had any other interviews.  Is he overrated, are owners blackballing him a bit for what he pulled with Indy?  At the very least, it is looking like the Eagles are limited to HC candidates who are not entertaining other offers.  Doesn't speak well to the situation here.

It would have been a nice moral victory for Lowie and reassuring for the fans to get a candidate...even if an unpopular one...who interviewed and had a rumored offer from someone else.  To have someone choose the Eagles.  But it seems that's not going to happen.

Uhhh......You're not serious......are you?  He's was around KC from 2013 to 2016.  Obviously with AR so who knows who he drafted and who AR drafted.  But they got Hill, Kelce and Mahommes during that time.   He was in Cleveland for 2 years.  Brought in Mayfield and Landry.  They finally got their QB.  But he was fired....why?  Because Cleveland that's why.  That franchise has been a revolving door.  He's a heck of lot more qualified than Lowie.

I'll get on board with the KC work he did, but Mayfield was a horrible top-of-the-draft choice at QB.  We got the same player in round 2 and the fanbase justifiably flipped out.

A few more days....ugh. I realize it's only day 8 of the coaching search but in coaching search time that feels like 8 weeks.

I edited my post.  But oh yeah.....let's do what the Lions do.....or don't do.  That would be great.

has nothing to do with the Lions per se, just lays out the reasons that you dont want him running things. his reputation far exceeds his results and he creates drama and friction wherever he goes.

Puhhllleeeeaaaasseee the irrational Hate of Wentz is just stupid. He had one BAD year on a VERY BAD team with a clueless HC. Pretty sure the HC got his self fired.

I'm willing to bet that combined iq of the haters is pretty low.

Meh...I'm not a huge Mayfield fan...at all.  But I think it's a pretty fare stretch to say Hurts and Mayfield are the same player.  At least it's too early to say that now.  Mayfield is a much better pro prospect.

Ahhh.  It's his fault.  Cause we never had drama or friction in Philly before this year.

True, Hurts is more of a poor man's Mayfield.  I think think that's a horrible decision to attach the future of the franchise to a player like that.   The Browns saw on Sunday exactly why they are going nowhere.  They had a Mahomes-less Chiefs on the ropes and couldn't move the ball forward.

Dorsey has a lousy track record as a GM...

Not sure I'd go that far, at least as far as drafting (After he was fired, it was reported he was fired due to his management style, communication, as well as the Chiefs salary cap issues):

KC 2013 - 2016

2013:  # 1 Fisher, #63 Kelce, #170 Kush C

2014:  #23 Ford, #193 Fulton G, #200 Duverney-Tardiff OL

2015:  #18 Peters CB, #49 Morse G, #76 Conley WR, #98 Nelson CB, #118 Wilson LB, #217 Nunez-Roches DT

2016:  #37 Jones DT, #126 Robinson WR, #165 Hill WR

2017:  #10 Mahomes QB, #59 Kpassagon DE, #86 Hunt RB [how much credit for Mahomes is in dispute

CLE

2018:  #1 Mayfield, #4 Ward CB, #33 Corbett C, #35 Chubb RB, #67, #105, #150, #175, #188, still in NFL but none are starting

Dorsey has good instincts for the draft, but is a dinosaur, not a good trader or cap guy.

He's in his right role as a consultant without decision making authority.

No doubt, but a trained goat would be more qualified.   Let someone like Joe Douglas build the board... and then have the goat go onto the board.   Wherever the goat takes the first dump is the pick.    (Incidentally, the only training the goat would need is to be able to take a dump on demand.  Because that's basically what we've seen from Howie. )  He doesn't build the board, he just picks based on the board (or so the story goes...), except for when he goes off the board and reaches.   The great part about the trained goat... he'd be locked in a space that he couldn't get out of, so no reaches.

um, Sunday's loss was not on Mayfield and I don't respect him either but he's at least twice the actual quarterback that Hurts is.

So... the Eagles are the Ralph Wigham of the NFL.  Great.

But, now that Howie has 5 future GMs around him... we have hope for the future!

Sounds like McDaniels.  Perfect match.  What could go wrong?

giphy.gif?cid=ecf05e47r3bxoqdvt7cxy8tpsy

There are a few conflicting issues with Wentz that show it's almost a mathematical certainty that this can't end well.

1.  He is 28, turns 29 at the end of next season.

2.  Love him, hate him, in between...you can admit this: his seat is hot.

3.  He has essentially never played in the playoffs.

4.  No matter how much you hate him, this abysmal supporting cast undeniably set him up for failure.

5. Lurie has ADMITTED that the team is not making moves with the intent of being competitive in 2021 or 2022.

6.  Every year, the homer in us just assumes that the WRs and OL will be better than last year.  Based on #5 and Kelce's pending retirement, I think we might want to let go of that perennial assumption.

If you put that all together, whether you blame Wentz or his surroundings, under what conceivable scenario is he supposed to turn this around before his seat gets even hotter and he's 30 years old without a playoff appearance?

You can argue that Wentz can or can't be salvaged until you are blue in the face.  You can also argue about divvying up the blame however you want.  I just don't see how Wentz can be salvaged HERE while the team is committed to a re-build.   You can't rebuild and not "make short-sighted decisions" (Lurie's own quote) while trying to salvage a 28 year old QB.

Don’t understand how anyone could say no to Kyle Pitts.

Good footwork and route running from a 6’6 240 LB TE/WR.

Despite a full-proof foot drills video, maybe they should first focus on drafting WRs to be able to play WR before they start drafting TEs to play WR.

Although if we are looking to have the tightest formations at the LOS with the least amount of spacing in the entire league on every play, then this would be a great pick.  Hopefully we re-sign Ertz, keep all 3 of them out there along with 6 OL and Mailata in the backfield.  Chiefs have no idea what they're doing with all that speed.

If I ever meet you, I’m more than happy to buy you a beer or two, but now I owe you a kick to the shin for bringing that up.

Also, it was Tommy Hutton that botched the snap.

An actual plus with McDaniels is that his could run his scheme with either Hurts or Wentz. So hiring him is independent of the QB situation. That flexibility really matters.

I'd still like to trade Wentz and roll with Hurts in 2021 to evaluate him. If McDaniels can say get to 8-8 with Jalen Hurts in year 1, we can feel good about both of them moving forward.

8-8 would mean we hit on most of our picks, especially the top 3 rounds.  I don't see that happening.

What makes you say that?

Okay, but from the very moment you or someone said he was being interviewed, deep inside my soul I just knew he was the guy. Now once again I have to hope that I was wrong. I didn't have an opinion on Doug. I hated Chip from the jump, and now (has it been confirmed yet?) I don't like McD.

But hopefully I'm wrong and I'll be glad to be wrong.

Yeah it was a pretty big hint when we heard how long the interview lasted.  That indicated a high level of interest.  I think everyone feels that way whether they personally want him or not.  We all know what's coming.
