"I'm told Duce would have an excellent staff of coordinators, such as Press Taylor and Matt Burke!"

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

If you go with Mcdaniels as the HC, I would offer the promotion to Duce as OC.  Mcdaniels is your technical guru, so the OC doesn't have to be a playcaller or QB guy.  Duce is likeable, holds the respect of the players, and helps to save face on that front.  More importantly, if things go well, Duce gets on the HC radar for other teams, and we end up with a pair of 3rd round picks.

Jerod Mayo would make sense as someone to poach from the Pats as our DC.  He'd also be the best LB on our team immediately.

If Banner is right they had a guy in mind all along and will see if anyone blows them away before they decide on that guy. We’ll see if he’s right and see if it’s McDaniels.

He's not

CB is not a total rebuild - you have Slay and Strap is a nickel. not sure what to do with Maddox here, but i think he belongs at safety

now safety needs a total rebuild....

Crap I’m competing against you. I hope you don’t take some of the blog staff i assembled.

As OC just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of letting the back up QB play in the 4th quarter. Regardless of score. Evaluation is key to success!

I honestly didn’t know that. Why is he called strap?

Call me crazy...upon further review, Mcdaniels has leapfrogged Daboll as my favorite HC candidate for the Eagles.  You read that correctly.

You know that stupid song: "I like you cuz your broken, broken like me."  That is the Eagles and Mcdaniels right there, a match made in heaven.  Mcdaniels is a formerly coveted HC candidate without options, the Eagles are a franchise fallen on hard times without options.

Say what you want about Mcdaniels; but you can't say that he's stupid and you can't say that he lacks a plan.  For all the failure of Belichick's coaching tree, Mcdaniels might be his all-time most trusted and valued assistant.  He either helped out, or at least learned from the development of one of the greatest QB's of all time.  And, perhaps most importantly, he has been humbled and reshaped by HC failure already...and will not have to do so at our expense.  That's an awfully similar background to AR and Belichick prior to KC and NE.  Both were always smart football guys, but needed to reinvent themselves and adapt after their failures in Philly and Cleveland.

I'm not saying he'll succeed.  Statistically, he probably won't.  I just think he actually checks the boxes better than anyone else does.

Okay

And this is why you're not invited into the management team

Had my my interview with the Eagles today. It didn’t go well. They didn’t like my  suggestion that I replace Howie.

Oh when our team plays yours I’m putting a 1000$ bounty on your knee cap.

Good idea.  If you think Howie is stubborn, wait until I get a seat at the table.

I’ll talk to coach @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! see if we can get you as a Special consultant or VP of Hot dog sales.

Post SB, the Eagles have had really bad luck. Reich leaving before he should have, Wentz getting hurt in back to back seasons, top 3 most injuries in the NFL, comp picks not breaking right. Now there's an pandemic that no one saw coming that hurts our team significantly more than most.

We got a lot of breaks in 2017 that just went the other way in the past 3 years.

How about this for the first two days of the draft?

I like it.  Mentioned before I'd like them to get a 2nd dynamic RB to pair with Sanders and, you know, run the ball.  What a thought....it would help out the QB whoever it ends up being.

As far as defense, just load up on your FA and UDFA on defense.  They seem to have more success finding them there then in the draft.

He probably needs a new one at this point anyway.

How does the pandemic hurt us more than most?

The Bills reinvented themselves, rebuilt their young franchise qb, and completely constructed their offense during a pandemic.

That’s just an excuse.

starting my list of mid round prospects i like:

Memphis RB Gainwell

UNC TE Angeline

UNC LB Surratt (think he goes earlier than we can take him to a 3-4 defense)

Cincy S Wiggins

good list. Only one I dont know is Angeline. But the only TE I want out of this class is Pederson. That would be really interesting considering recent events.

Doug was the HC, he called 55 passes to 9 runs, with an oline in shambles, and wrs consisting of Reagor, Ward, Jjaw, and some back up TE, when he had sanders playing.

nah Doug was a major problem.

I agree Doug was to blame for many problems this past season.  I think that's why McDaniels should face some scrutiny as well.
