its a long term plan thing. running backs are rarely worth their second contracts. so i think you need to draft a talented one about every other year. doesnt need to be as high as rd 2 but Etienne was too good to pass up.

Agree.  All anyone talks about in 2017 was Wentz playing like an MVP,  Foles coming off the bench and winning SB MVP or the Philly Special.  Hardly anyone mentions how good they ran the ball and how consistent they ran the ball with Blount and Ajayi. I believe they were 3rd in the NFL in rushing then?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I actually mentioned it a couple months back when we had the discussion about the running game with eagles offense in 2017 and the super bowl . foles played lights out but the running game early in that game and throughout the game was great. The running game had 164 yards on the ground which helped a lot.

CB is not a total rebuild - you have Slay and Strap is a nickel. not sure what to do with Maddox here, but i think he belongs at safety

now safety needs a total rebuild....

Slay will be injury-riddled and over the hump next season. He was above average this season and got lit up by top tier receivers. I don't expect him to have a better season next season than he did this year at age 30 and I don't expect him to stay healthier.

Maddox was terrible this year. It may not be a complete rebuild, but they need to add another one or two into the mix.

I’m hopeful he stays in the afc. But a good article behind teams pros and cons

Washington should trade 3 first round picks for him.

I think Slay played fairly well despite the big games against him.  I think injuries and age are a concern but he played well this season.  I like Maddox but he is ill-suited to play an outside CB.  I think he would do ok in the slot.  I'm not sold on him as a safety.  I agree CB is a big need.  I would be fine if Farley or Surtain were the pick at 6.

What's everyone's gut telling you?

Think the McDaniels stuff jumped the gun and he never was the guy?

Think he's still the guy and they're just being thorough?

Think they thought he was the guy and he once again backed out?

Off-season hasn’t really started yet.

HAHAHAHA.  Conference championship games and Super bowl still to come, and dude is worried about the off season.  The only thing we can do at this point is hire coaches.

I get a good felling about Sirianni. Not his chances of getting the job, but that he will do well when he does.

Seems like McDaniels is like 90% to get the job.

Going from 10 to 8 draft picks is a pretty big deal when you add in the fact that they don't have a 4th.  That Avery trade was bad on so many levels.  They really need to dangle as many of their veterans out there as possible.  They can't afford to sit out the 4th round.

They're already down to 8 guys from the 2020 draft and if Hurts is gone you're down to 7.

Side note....Ravens releasing Mark Ingram.  I'd be more than happy with him in a rotation as long as they add another young back in the draft.

They looked like they're just a QB away. That would suck for us

Yup and nobody ever talks about that.  The run game hasnt been the same or even used the same since 2017.

I think McDaniels is Howie's guy but Lurie doesn't want to rush.

I think they need help on the o-line but they have an elite defensive line and very good skilled players.  They would be a very good team with Watson.

I think Lurie is a "woke" owner and he is still holding out for Bienemy...

How about this for the first two days of the draft?

I love Etienne, but we have Sanders already and feel like we have to use premium picks to improve elsewhere.

It's sad that the team with no name and Dan Snyder is getting it right meanwhile we have Howie and are interviewing even Dallas coaches

I think McD is also indecisive.

Gut tells me we are going to be looking for a new coach 3 years from now.

I actually think Washington with a good quarterback like watson can compete. you have a mclaurin, gibson and Logan Thomas if he continues like he did this season as weapons. Likely add another weapon in FA or draft. Their defense is good enough to win games. And I’m guessing they’re probably going to add some to it in the draft. I actually think watson makes that team look a lot better than 7-9

Interviewing everybody and their mother so they can say they did their due diligence after they hire duce?

I went into a whole long thing in 2019 on the old board showing that in 2017 the running game wasn’t just used at the end of the game to salt games away. There was by my count (on the old board) 6-7 games were the running game is what ignited the Eagles offense early in games or got them out of a funk in certain weeks. they did use the running game to salt games away but it wasn’t exclusive to that. They had games like giants in philly, chargers and cowboys to name a few where the running game gave them juice and jump started the offense. Running game after they got ajayi was really good
