I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Smith didn’t go to the chargers. He went to atlanta. Unless you are talking about smith and just chargers in general

My bad, Falcons are a bad team but already well into their rebuild, 7-9, 7-9, 4-12.

But how do you play that bad with Ryan (35) passing for 4581 yards, 93.3 rating, 66.7 QBR?

Gurley/Hill at RB, Ridley/Gage/Jones/Zaccheaus at WR, Hurst at TE.

Offensive line has five 1st rd picks, plus McGary #31, Hennessey C #76, Mack C is 35, and Carpenter G is 31, but they already have their replacements lined up.

They have a young defense (2 1st rd picks, 2 2nd rd picks), but not a very good one with no good pass rushers.

It's a TRAP.

Smith's problem is finding the right DC, and eventually a young QB, but after three losing seasons, the pressure is on for a quick turnaround. And there aren't a lot of impact defensive players at the top of the draft, especially pass rushers. Does he go for the QB of the future? But Ryan is signed through 2023.

If Daboll is in play might as well wait at this point

Frankly i was surprised he took Atlanta’s job. I don’t think they are in a good position long term for what you said with Ryan and needing to fix the defense and get a coordinator. I frankly thought he’d be better off going to chargers. I actually don’t think atlanta is as great as people made it out to be. I much rather be saleh right now with cap space, picks, a good OC and darnold or fields or trade for watson. Listening to a podcast cause they talked about LaFleur the OC liking darnold in shanahan’s system and Kyle shanahan also loved darnold. So i think they might roll with him

Sirianni looks just like a young Reich.

May our 2nd Reich last 1,000 seasons

I’m aboard the Sirianni Submarine

Smolenski might have been in the meeting too, he was for the Chip Kelly meeting back in the day.

Good point. But do you think one of the three is leaking about the interviews or who is higher on the list.  I don’t.  Seems a bit dishonest that they don’t say, so and so’s agent said or a person for the Eagles that participated in the interview said.

Wow that’s ridiculous

that's one of things that i do give credit to lurie that he doesnt rush into the hires because he knows it's not just head coach, it's the whole staff that matters, alot of owners just jump into the hot commodity with a head coach and dont look at the staff they are hiring.

Riley, let me vomit, college coaches with no NFL experience have a horrid track record. And I've seen the Oklahoma offense every year, nothing special to me.

You know why Texas doesn’t slide into the Gulf?

Oklahoma sucks.

I don’t like how Jacksonville is going about this at all.

I would say, show this to Alshon and Desean ..... but just show them the door instead

I love Etienne, but we have Sanders already and feel like we have to use premium picks to improve elsewhere.

He gets dinged and winded

but i tend to agree. Problem i see is if you dont get your wr round 1 there is very little left to be excited about

I can’t imagine the pain tolerance he must have gone through to make it through the season needing both knees operated on. And then go out and play the way he did.

I thought the owner was basically going to be the GM now?

I was surprised when they got Meyer because the FO looks to be a mess

Had my my interview with the Eagles today. It didn’t go well. They didn’t like my  suggestion that I replace Howie.

I was pulling for you.

Post SB, the Eagles have had really bad luck. Reich leaving before he should have, Wentz getting hurt in back to back seasons, top 3 most injuries in the NFL, comp picks not breaking right. Now there's an pandemic that no one saw coming that hurts our team significantly more than most.

We got a lot of breaks in 2017 that just went the other way in the past 3 years.

In March, when some of these stupid, expensive moves were made, the pandemic was very much already here.   But, the Eagles doubled down on their stupidity.

Good for him.   And what's the rush now for the Eagles?  Lurie said he wanted to be last.

I respect it from the standpoint he’s focused at the job at hand and his players in buffalo. On the other side it’s stupid not to just have a zoom meeting cause maybe passing up an opportunity of a lifetime

Nah.  I respect it 100%.  Do your job.  If you do your job well enough, the next one will find you.

So what coach have we not interviewed?

In other news. I just had Burger King.

True story...

I saw those ads, and just had to have a Whopper.   So, about 2 or 3 weeks ago, I succumbed.  (Who says advertising doesn't work?)   I hadn't had a Whopper in about a decade.   I regretted that decision within the same hour.

You poor poor person

Yup.   I'm having flash backs just thinking about what he must be going through.

According to Eskin it's down to Duce and McDaniels. Roseman wants McDaniels, but Lurie is leaning towards Duce.

I’m gonna have to go with McDaniels and I don’t even want him. Lol

Yup.

Howie Roseman was the GM of the only SB team in franchise history and some people honestly don't think he's a "football guy"

He's not.   He's a consensus builder... surrounded by great people, who tell him to select the wrong people all the time, after the right people are taken just a few picks ahead of him.  Howie isn't a football guy, he's a victim of his surroundings.   But, those surroundings include 5 future GMs... so you'd think that they'd be better than they have been in identifying talent and actually acquiring it at a fair price, but that just hasn't been the case.  But, the one person that can not in anyway be held culpable for the situation the team is currently in, is Howie Roseman.  He is the victim here.

Problem is that Eakins has been wrong way more than he has been right with his scoops in recent years.
