Y'know as much as we all hate Howie, the one thing he did when he got control back from Chip was get rid of guys. And mostly "Chip" guys. So if we see Hurts shipped out relatively quickly, I think it would lend a lot of credence to him being Doug's pick. And then again, we may never really know.

Just my speculation but it's probably because they are in the middle of a HC search so they don't want to make any other moves before figuring that out first. Just like no other coach has been let go once Doug was fired.

Curling is a wonderful sport, with a great deal of strategy, in addition to the skill involved.  And most curling matches you can actually hear both teams discussing their strategy.   I attended the National Championship tournament twice.  Was a wonderful experience, and got to swap stories with the lead from one of the US Olympic teams... he's a plumber in his everyday life.  Great guy, down to earth and included me in the conversation about curling as if I was an old friend of his from high school.   And when the matches are going on, just wonderful sportsmanship.  No real need for officials, just a gentlemen's game and the skips score everything themselves.  Only bring in the officials if they need a measurement for a close pair of stones.

We must have an agreement in place with the Ford family to not only hire our worst coach, but to also promote them.  Last year was Undlin to DC.  Now they want the Soul Snatcher for HC.  Imagine the laser beam gifs with those eyes in his introductory press conference.  Not sure why my mind goes there.

I think it was just for ST coordinator, which is how Eagles were able to block it. They already announced Campbell as HC.
