If they hire this guy, in the first press conference a reporter should ask him:

"Siri, how confident are you with Howie Roseman drafting players?". 

Then, someone would have Siri turned on on their phone and she would reply:  "Howie Roseman has not drafted a pro bowl player since Carson Wentz and before that it was Fletcher Cox. Therefore, one should not be confident in Howie Roseman drafting players."

It actually makes some sense. I always wondered why he got skipped over for a WR coach. Made little sense at the time.

Edit: by the way, that article seems to imply that we’ve offered the job to folks and have been turned down. Not surprising if true but just jarring to read about it.

Groh was OC in college and a passing game coordinator in the NFL, so it made sense to me why he was chosen over Duce. But what doesn't make sense to me is why would Duce interview for OC knowing Doug was here for 2 years and would be calling plays, and turn down a promotion to just stay the RB coach? Being an OC without play calling would have been a good next step for a guy like him.

Doug didn't have a great year, but I still would've been ok with him going forward if Howie got the boot.

If they fired Doug, you gotta hope they had specific targets in mind(like Banner intimated) and are confident they could get them.

It's obvious only a handful of guys in this process fit the bill. Riley, Brady, McDaniels, etc.

For them to fire Doug and just promote Duce from within or hire Allen, Moore, or Sirianni, would just be such a bad look. Doug wasn't bad to the point where you just need him out of the organization ASAP and whomever you hire will be better. He wasn't Adam Gase.

If they hire someone it better damn well be someone they are super excited about and were locked in on from the start.

I get that but Duce seemed the natural person to get internally promoted - he certainly was next in line, Groh’s prior experience notwithstanding.

I know I'm not the only one that read that in Siri's voice.

So what are we thinking? It’s down to McDaniels and Sirianni with Duce as our break glass in case of emergency hire?

Who knows, still think McDaniels is the favorite. Not sure I’d count Brady out yet. I don’t know why they’d go Sirianni over Brady if they don’t want McDaniels. Brady is young, but this is the perfect type of situation to gamble on a guy like that given that they aren’t in a win now mode. Gives him time to grow.

Probably. I don’t think they are all in on Daniels as people were making it out to be a few days ago. He could still be the choice but their is clear hesitation
