It’d be interesting to see what the exact terminology is but I guess it could be a variation of a non-compete. Non-competes in my field are total BS. Basically it’s so trainers don’t take clients to another gym if they leave. However, it wouldn’t be worth the time or energy for an owner to fight it.

And again, if there were those restrictions I am pretty sure it wasn’t called a "non compete” clause. It doesn’t make sense. Because they aren’t "competing”. They are talking. Competing would be me selling to customers I once had at an old employer before the 12 months is up. That’s the purpose of it. Well excuse me mr officer. In the NFL, it’s tampering, not a non compete. The restriction is on the new employer, not the employee. In most other industries, it’s a non compete built into the employee contract. Of course, talking is not regulated.
January 21, 20214 yr Tony Pauline says the Josh McDaniels-Eagles connection comes from Howie Roseman's connection to his college roommate Jedd Fisch, who was on the Patriots coaching staff as QBs coach this year and is pushing for Howie to make McDaniels the next Eagles coach. He also says 99% of the chatter around the league about McDaniels as a HC is negative.

January 21, 20214 yr The league doesn’t like Bill Belichick much either. I don’t really care if the league hates him. In fact, I kind of like it.
January 21, 20214 yr NFL people liken McDaniels to Adam Gase who is only successful because of Peyton Manning/Tom Brady. Tony Pauline says McDaniels is 50/50 to become Eagles coach. Also says Bieniemy is seen in league circles as not a good head coaching candidates, despite the media's portrayal. Supposedly, the Eagles are trying to stay away from the Andy Reid tree.

I could see that being a big issue in your field. I had a trainer once who tried to get me to follow them. Every industry has a way to restrict it. For me, it’s all about geography. 75 miles. Cant take a similar job in that radius.

January 21, 20214 yr I think there's a lot of BS out there about the Eagles. I know PFT put this out there, but sorry I'm not buying that Howie is the one who wants McDaniels. Lurie referred to him by his first name and has always been infatuated with the Patriots. I still think it's more likely McDaniels is more Lurie driven than Howie. It's possible he's both.

Was told by my friend who works in the AD with the football team and coaches that if Arizona didn’t hire fisch that he is a strong candidate for the eagles job. Also was told fisch is an arrogant and kind comes off as a **** that rubs a lot of people the wrong way around the program. So that hire should go well for Arizona

Mcdaniels knows fisch is good friends with howie and were roommates at Florida so trying to help his friend get a HC job after the colts incident. howie (lurie) likely talking to fisch asking him about mcdaniels and what he thinks. Fisch isn’t going to bury a guy he is friends with.

Apparently the colts loved the work he’s done with their WRs. And the chargers also with theirs before he left for Indy. So not only are you going to ask him to salvage Carson Wentz he’s shown he is able to develop wide receivers which is something the Eagles besides one year under Mike groh have not been able to do. And really with Mike groh they didn’t develop any wide receivers as smith and jeffery were already developed. Agholor is the closest thing to being developed. If he's the HC then he wont really be able to coach WRs. Not sure if he will call plays too but he will have his hands full with fixing Wentz and play calling. Hopefully he has some good position coaches lined up.
January 21, 20214 yr Mosher and Caplan did a new episode today. Didn't add a ton, but both think McDaniels is the favorite, but not a lock. Both think Sirianni is intriguing. Don't think there's a lot of interest of Bieniemy with the Eagles, but Caplan thinks if they haven't hired someone by the weekend and the Chiefs lose, it would stun him if they didn't interview Kafka. Caplan said he heard all the interviews came in fully prepared with good ideas for their staffs, but he said a source told him Joe Brady's staff was so impressive it was almost unrealistic the caliber of names he had on there that he'd actually be able to land any of them. Caplan was pissed that no one interviewed Duce besides the Eagles. Thinks that might be a reason they aren't interested in Bieniemy, they think Duce and him are essentially the same thing. An offensive guy with no play calling or HC experience, who is a motivator. So if that's what they want, they'd just hire Duce.
