In fairness we had a lot of people weeks prior when we were still in contention not wanting to win the division.

I think I checked out after the Bengals game this year. I went through the motions of watching the games still wanting to win obviously, but also knew in the back of my mind this was going to be a lost season.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I think I went full tank mode when Hurts became the starter. Can't remember exactly. But I want both Wentz and Hurts to succeed.

I'm not in love with the guy, especially at 6.

Bama corners worry me. They seem to not be so good in the NFL.

I feel like a lot of us were with you. I always cheer to win until no shot at the playoffs but i figured they were too bad to turn it around and a high draft pick likely long term was better than getting destroyed on wild card weekend

I actually checked out after the two game win streak of NYG/Dallas. Both wins were terrible and we didn’t beat the brakes off of DiNucci and that terrible defense

If the Browns and Dolphins were both 10-6 who makes the playoffs?

Shouldn't Joe be in the basement counting beans. Who gave this guy a twitter account.

Those damn Tie games is just a major buzz kill lol. I know I know the 2008 team but, still that season felt just off too.

Like i said a lot of fans understood this team was not good and that high draft pick long term was likely way more beneficial. I didn’t care about winning the division as much as trying to get Carson back on track as we owed him a ton and i thought for the franchise that mattered more than any win. Sadly that didn’t happen. And the eagles managed to continue to lose most of their games after he was benched.

Believe the dolphins would’ve

Honestly i rather have just lost the game trying to go with the win instead of a tie. Felt like doug didn’t have the aggressiveness and at that point i figured it was likely crash and burn of a season cause once you begin to settle for ties instead of going for the win it’s not good.

I fooled myself I said they were gonna be 11-5 before the season started!! Also didn't think Wentz would turn into Mike McMahon

Honestly didn't know they were banned. Probably another lame reason like the Shocker one

They were banned on the old boards. I don’t think either made it to the new one unless they changed their name and posting style. But F Bobby, he deserved to be banned way sooner than he was for the ish he’d spew

The Eagles weren’t the first team to tank.  It’s the first evidence of forward thinking the team has displayed in 4 years.

Then why is there no uproar of the Steelers sitting Big Ben and allowing the Browns to win thus keeping the Dolphins from the playoffs?

He’s wrong on the part we’d think it’s the most horrible thing ever. I’d be pissed if we made the playoffs at 6-10 and screwed ourselves when it came to the draft. Later part i don’t have a clue about

No, we have to promote this narrative - at this juncture, it the only thing that could get Howie fired.

I'm glad someone is there with me on that effer

I didn’t think wentz would play as poorly as he did but i was one fo the few who said even if he played competently this team was a 8-8 team with a ceiling of 9-7. Which in reality isn’t that impressive cause the division was awful. Like if you swept the division only needed 2-3 more wins against niners, bengals to get to 8

My 2 cents on tanking (in general) for when the time comes to do so:

Trade all the vets for picks you want to acquire assets at the cost of making your current team worse.

Shed all the salary you want that makes your current team worse.

Deactivate your starters for the most comically non existent injuries.

But play to win the game with whatever guys are left that you do dress.

They eagles didn’t do that last part Sunday night.  Do I really care or am I outraged?  Not at all.  But, JMO, that’s where I personally would draw the line with tanking.

Right??  The old Eagles win this game 100% of the time just to shoot themselves in the foot.  For once they do the right thing.

Dolphins

Cause the Steelers played hard throughout. Frankly people should be more pissed off at the jags routinely tanking every week. Literally before they lost to the bears week 16 they still could lose Lawrence. They were annihilated by the bears. Rested some guys and really just gave up in the second quarter. Meanwhile yesterday when they had nothing to lose anymore were in the game with the colts until the late 4th quarter

Yes but they didn't play there best players?  We are getting most of this because we switched QBs not because of effort.  If Big Ben played the Dolphins would be in the playoffs.
