January 21, 20214 yr Ok just got the news and I’m gonna wait till I see who his OC/DC is before I judge. At the moment I’m not a fan of the move. Reason is he never was a play caller at any level of his coaching career. This was the same reason I was against Doug when we got him and Reich saved the day in 2017 so I’m gonna give Sirianni a chance to assemble his staff but he better damn well get a good OC.

Dorsey was like "hey me and Big Red fired this Italian guy a few years ago, you should totally hire him as your HC" In fairness reid ask him if he knew how to make his favorite Italian dish of homemade ravioli in a garlic Alfredo sauce and he said now. Reid then said he had no use for him and then found his look KC bbq joint. True story

A lot of racist divisive toxic people out there. I hate the Fing hire, but I'll be the first to defend Lurie on this. Just unjustified and unwarranted criticism in this regard. I think there's systemic racism in the NFL. However, not hiring Eric Bieniemy is not proof of racism.

January 21, 20214 yr For those lamenting that we didn't get one of the "hot names," we only pulled that off once under Lurie. It was Chip Kelly. That went well. We are going to try and salvage Wentz while dealing with our roster issues. I will say that every time I watched the Colts, I was asking myself "who are these guys" as the managed to get to double digit wins. The quick bits I have read are that Nick coaches to his players strengths as opposed to being a slave to a system -- the Colts had 3 very different QBs while he was there, and he made it work. I'm intrigued to see what he does with this roster -- especially Wentz, Reagor and Sanders.

Frankly Bieniemy didn’t even interview cause he thought mcdaniels was going to get the job. So he can blame his agent cause sirianni went after mcdaniels and got it. If you dont even do the interview and try you’ll never know. That’s on him not doing so. He has himself to blame for not getting this job.
January 21, 20214 yr Playcalling is overrated, it's like scheming, it's not like DCs haven't seen everything. Unless you're stone cold stupid, it's not the plays you call so much as how you execute them. Execution involves three main factors, talent, coaching players, and discipline. HCs can't control talent, but they can teach players the skills of their position and demand discipline. So teach a WR to run a route properly then expect him to do so every time on the field.

It's tyranny of the majority over my son and me. I watched a lot of Sponge Bob and Barney when my kids were younger. Now that we are empty nesters we have more TVs than people. The wife and I don’t have to be in the same room all the time so it works out great. Some of those HGTV shows get on my nerves. And my comments about building outside with untreated or painted white pine grates on hers. So if she has one of those shows and I am in the same room I am reading.

Wanna accuse someone of racism? Provide proof. Inequity in itself is not proof of racism. Though it is one of the core principles of critical race theory. The Eagles interviewed minority candidates. All that can be done in this world is give equal opportunity. That opportunity was given. Can't hire or not hire someone solely based on skin color, and I don't think Lurie ever will, thankfully.

No play calling is not overrated. Case in point Doug Pederson. Biggest knock on the guy was he couldn’t call plays and it led him down a path that got him ultimately fired.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear as a black man. This stuff is total crap. Would I like to see more black head coaches and executives in the NFL, sure. Is it fair to assume that every time a black person doesn't get a job and a white person does that it has anything to do with race, no. All of the virtue signaling by white reporters over the last few days as it relates to Bieniemy is ridiculous. I think Bieniemy should get a job but the only people I know for a fact are making it about race are the ones complaining for him which is counter productive. Sorry if this isn't the right forum for this but I needed to get this off of my chest.

Both wound up being awful hires. I don’t know what sirianni is going to be. He could be great. He could be Aaron rodgers older brother who lives in the basement and makes a gravity bong and eats Funyuns. However like i said with doug when we hired him I’m willing to give him a chance to see what he is. If he sucks we can criticize him. If he’s great we will praise him. Won’t know until he does what he does. Frankly i would’ve given mcdaniels a chance as well even if i wasn’t thrilled with that hire. But i tend to think mcdaniels is basically a slightly better version of Adam Gase who used his success with manning to get the dolphins job but this was mcdaniels using Brady. However i do think mcdaniels tried to get the HC here cause i think he sees the Patriots potentially struggling next year with a unknown at QB and two consecutive down years without Brady people would hit harder with the he hasn’t done anything great without Brady and tougher to get a HC job.

First off nobody mentioned Wentz. Secondly what does Wentz have to do with Sirianni? If you took your time out to read you would have noticed I said I’m not gonna judge until I see his coordinators but as of now I’m not a fan Now go shove your head buck up Wentz’s arse.

If you are a great personality and coach you don’t care what someone else has done you always feels you are better for the job and can prove it in the interview and with your background in the field. It felt like they looked for an excuse for him not to do the interview instead of looking to hit a homerun in the interview

You never played organized football did you? Play calling, scripting, game planning plays a major role in the game, esp in the beginning of a game. The reason teams script plays in order is to get an idea how the opposing side will react(Defense or Offense). The scheme should vary a bit in each few plays to get a good broad view. This way what you see out of the opposing side will help you determine the direction you want to go through out the game. Some use 5,10,20 plays in the script to make this evaluation. Some coaches will go through the script again in the 2nd half to see if the opp team adjusted as well. So you are incorrect, it is far from over rated. Its very important to the game plan. To give you a good point of view, Frank was our game planner/script guy in 2017. We had the number 1 offense in the league. Doug has made it known in PCs that he did not follow scripts when he game plans and we had very poor planned offenses, esp in the 1st half.
