This was poorly handled by Howie like most things are. 

I love Ertz but the way he played this season I'm glad he's not extended. According to what I read he was offered a very nice extension and turned it down. We can't continue to pay guys on past performance which is what got us in this trouble to begin with.

Who? Ertz? Not a snowball's chance in hell, IMO. Eagles HOF sure, but at no point have I ever watched ertz and thought "this guy could be a hall of famer". If he was ever even considered i would be shocked

A few things could easily be in play...

1) Whatever McLane was told happened wasn’t shown on TV. Let’s be honest, NBC couldn’t even be bothered to show a replay of a possible fumble that Wallace returned for a TD. The cameras would have focused on Sudfeld, Doug, Wentz and Hurts during those moments anyway.  

2) The phrasing McLane used immediately conjures an image of someone physically restraining an outwardly angry player, but it could have been as much or as "I’m gonna tell Doug to eff himself,” and a teammate putting a hand on the guys chest and telling him to be cool. It’s not something that would actually jump out. 

3) I can see why people question McLane for not naming the player, but there’s a good chance a source told him who the player was on the condition he not name the player. Or his source, likely a very trusted source, told him what happened but wouldn’t give him the name. People can debate whether he should use that info in print, I suppose. 

4) The players have skin in the game. They’re competitive. They have very little interest in picking sixth or ninth. It’s not hard to envision players being pissed off that we obviously played Sudfeld to hurt our chances of winning the game.

Well he is only 30 and has more catches then any tight end in history at this stage in their careers. Who knows but that's also why I said " possibly"

I think they are comfortable with Seumalo, he knows the system and has been consistently good/very good for the majority of the past 2 seasons.

Listen to your PTs. Work hard to get back full knee extension. Lots of ankle pumps and quad sets early on.

I think a lot of fans that have taken him for granted over the past 2-3 years will see how good he really is over the next 2-3 years when he goes somewhere else and has success. 

And yes, at this point, his catches alone make him a candidate for the H-O-F.  That said, he needs to play (at least) 3-4 more years, another few pro-bowls, imo to have a really solid chance.

Personally I'd roll with fulgham at X reagor in the slot and hightower or quez at Z.

Play more 11 than 12 and get more speed on the field.

The advantage of 12 is the run against a single high safety or cover three look. If we arent going to run...well then...wtf good is it?

He is not a hof player and his playing to not get hurt this year tarnished him. Handling his contract immaturely

i could see NE loving him for their F position which is basically a glorified slot receiver

Either way, Joe Judge just quickly climbed up my list of most hated coaches.  Who the hell does this guy think he is, going on some long winded virtue signaling soliloquy hammering the Eagles.  If the Giants werent in NY they would be utterly irrelevant across the sports landscape of the country

It's all Zach's fault so he should be sad and upset at himself. If the rumors were correct that he turned do a extension last year that would have made him one of the top 3 paid TEs in the league then its all his fault for being greedy. I like Zach but that was upsetting for me as a fan to see him be that way. But in the end, it will come to bite him in the butt and he will regret it going forward.

I can pretty much guess it's because his agent has been in his ear all year.  His agent likely wanted to make him the highest paid TE again (like he did with his last contract at the time)...the Eagles said "no" and his agent then tells Ertz "whatever you do, don't get hurt".

It's not uncommon for a rookie backup QB who has a 25 QB rating in the game and who just missed a wide open TD pass on 4th down to get pulled later in the game.   It really isn't.  They all need to get over themselves.

Catches are great, but the guy falls down immediately after. Kelce is a possible HOF. Kittle would be if he didn't get hurt all the time. Gronk in his prime. You watch those guys, especially prime gronk and think "they could get in". I can't imagine people think that watching ertz. He is very good, top 5 and maybe even top 3 when he actually gives a F, but he probably won't sniff the HOF unless he goes on an absolute tear the next couple years.

It would be sad to see him go if he didn't act like such a bish this season. It'll be nice to see him return for his eagles HOF induction and I wish him all the best wherever he goes

This is what I don't get. It isn't like hurts was exactly lighting up the scoreboard and they pulled him.
