This team just has the feel of a total dumpster fire. I feel like they could be worse next season.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

IMO if the team goes CB they would better off trading back for more picks and get Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina who IMO is ready play day1 with slay. hopefully get a 2nd and more while swapping 1st

In Fipp’s defense, the team was so ravaged by injury that he couldn’t even field regular special teamers for much of the time. And who knows how much say he had about adding better kick and punt returners.

He had better options added via the draft this year, but kept trotting Ward out there.  And defended by saying he was so smart back there.  We all saw him, it was just empty words.  Ward was lost back there.

They should be worse.  The only things against them being worse are "injuries can't possibly be that bad again" (which we've said for the last 3 years) and the possible 1st year bump with a new staff.

There is a very likely chance that next year it could be even worse than this year. They’re going to have to lose some guys to get below the cap and not have viable replacements. You also are going to have a learning curve for your head coach and we’re gonna play a lot of young players. And we don’t even know what will happen with Wentz. Very easily the Eagles could be a 5-6 win team

Empty words is right. I don’t think it was his call that Reagor only sprinkled in as punt returner, and he said nice things about Ward to the press because he was defending his player. I think you’re making too much of those comments.

Do we?  I am pretty enthusiastic about HC, OC and DC focused on the backfield with a OL and DL coach with the strength of background that Rocker and Stoutland have. Anxiously, awaiting the announcement of the LB, DB , RB and TE.

IMO just getting healthy and cutting TO's in half double's the wins

The Blog is not the fans. We’re just a subset. Think WIP.

DeVonta Smith at 6 would be great for us. While he isn't a complete speedster, he accelerates out of his breaks. He'll get open, and he has a weird stride when he's running laterally that allows him to surprise defenses with how fast he turns the corner after the catch. Very good hands. Sure, there are some concerns, but there almost always are with any player.

Smith is a tricky fit.  While we all know I love pure speed, as the Chiefs displayed for the NFL last night...separation is separation.  If Smith gets open relentlessly, he could be dominant in his own way.

Where does he play?  Drafting a receiver top 10 demands him to run all the routes and to be a high volume guy.  That's an X.  His frame at the LOS may be an opportunity for NFL CB's to rag-doll him.

If you put him at Z...do you really want to draft a guy in the top 10 to be your offense's token vertical threat when he doesn't even have burner speed?  Additionally, Reagor is no X.  He's either a Z or a slot.  So that means we'd already be putting Reagor on the typical Eagle WR path to disappointment...bad rookie year and then salvage him into something respectable in the slot.

If the OLine can stay mostly healthy they’ll probably have a couple more wins but that’s no guarantee. I can’t see Graham playing at that high of a level again.

I’m hoping this time around if the OC looks and acts like more of HC than the HC that they just promote him ASAP. Can’t be too critical of that though, DP did win a Super Bowl.

Fortunately almost everyone with big contracts on the team either sucks or never plays.  So shedding cap space won't actually equate to losing much production on the field.

That would be an improvement, sadly

I don't think this team will be worse this year, it's doubtful that it will have the same injury bad luck, for one thing. And i think Sirianni will prove to be more organized.

But they're going to dump a bunch of veterans as part of the two year housecleaning, and play a lot of young guys, which means a lot of mistakes.

So I expect a younger, faster, more athletic team that's more competitive for 3 quarters but struggles to finish games when teams take it up a notch in the 4th Q.

I think it comes down if you're a fantasy land fan who thinks there's a miracle coach who can walk on water and Sirianni hasn't been anointed as such by the media.

On the other hand, if you actually watch the NFL, you're a lot more confident today that they'll actually have a plan to rebuild the next two years.

I've given on up betting against Graham.  I always bemoan reliance on older players, but I'm going to assume he'll match his prior year's production until he actually doesn't.  The probowl was a nod to his character, leadership, and longevity.  He doesn't disrupt at a probowl level and never has, but I assume he'll be a good starting DE again next year.

I expect the right side of the OL to be fragmented almost immediately next year.  And we haven't heard that Kelce will be back.  My guess is he's waiting to get a final vibe from this team on how much of a dumpster fire they'll be.  Lurie's comments certainly do not beckon a vet to return for 1 more year.  If they lose that glue in the middle, the impact of injuries next year could be even worse.

The WRs will likely suck as always.  Just subtract 3 random games of blind luck productivity from Fulgham, Desean's annual deep bomb, and Alshon's 3 annual big plays in the red zone...and sprinkle in a couple more plays from Reagor in year 2.

I actually think the "can't be as bad argument" many are applying to global injuries and the OL is probably best used for Carson Wentz.  I don't think he should be the QB moving forward (nor do I think it should be Hurts), but I also think Wentz can't possibly be as bad as he was in 2020.  All those losses against crap teams that we said would have been wins with a league-average QB may turn into a couple more wins this year.

In regards to Fipp and whose call it was to put Ward out there, it makes everything equally confusing when reports come out saying Jackson said to put him out there which he was allowed to do and end up getting injured. So is it Doug, Fipp or Jackson whose letting that happen during the game?

One thing I hope this new staff does is have clear accountability. Make it clear who is in charge of what and whose responsible for who. No more pointing fingers at whose in charge of calling timeouts in critical moments. No more pointing fingers at whose play calling. No more confusion about whose putting players on the field.

I think it's happening. A lot of people say "you can rebuild in the NFL fast" and that's true... if you do all the important things right. Like get the right GM, get the right coaching, and draft well. 2 of those 3 we should have no confidence in right now at the very least.

The fastest way out would be to somehow get an elite top 5 QB. Those guys cover up a lot of mistakes. Right now we don't have that, but maybe if we suck enough for a few years we'll be in the position to draft one.

I'm not sure how harsh I can get on Fipp.

To say that Desean is made of glass would be an insult to the durability of glass.  Reagor was a turnover waiting to happen.  Every punt is a coin toss if he catches it or if the ball hits the turf.

They were frantically trying to coach up both Hightower and Watkins to contribute at WR out of desperation...and both clearly looked overloaded.  KOR...you might be able to argue for one of these two.

They didn't really have many personnel options better than a fair catcher in Ward.

I’m not going to lie.  I am not excited. I like the hires but at the end of the day FO structure and Howie is a problem.

I guess still think you could see worse than some of the guys go step into their place.

I think y'all will be pleasantly surprised by the drafts the next two years.

It will be much easier to draft with a HC/OC/DC who are on the same page, I think Doug and Schwartz lived on separate Islands, and both were focus on a win now strategy.

Now the focus will be more consistent, you're rebuilding, you're looking more at BPA (but in the context of your schemes or why  Donald dropped to the 4th rd, partially b/c his size and skills meant he only had value to a one gap, 4-3 team, and that limited the number of teams willing to draft him), and at upside (winning next season is not a priority). So there will be less disconnect between the scouts and coaches - the arguments won't be what the team needs this year v the future, but who is the best fit for the future.

I can't believe everyone is so down on the idea of taking Parsons at 6.

We have a new defensive coordinator, a new head coach, an overwhelming glaring need for a stud linebacker, and instead we're talking about the virtues of taking a 4th OT or another WR.
