Thanks to seeing this guy's description, I'm going to start having proactive nightmares about this being the pick when we trade down in the first.  This has Howie's name written all over it:

Pac-10 - check

Washington - check

fastball - check

undersized - check

DT - check

23) Levi Onwuzurike, DT

School: Washington | Year: Senior (RS)

Onwuzurike is a slightly undersized defensive tackle who was highly destructive in every Washington game I studied.  Overall, Onwuzurike's pass rush production isn't special, but all of the tools are there to improve the results at the next level.

Yeah, sounds like Donald. 😎

What does the new DC like?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Sure it was Stoutland's decision to let him walk, roster space isn't at a premium right now, so if Stoutland thought he could be fixed, he'd still be here.

😂  I was thinking more Trevor Laws, Marcus Smith, Sidney Jones, Brandon Graham (which I wouldn't knock), Markelle Fultz, JJAW, or any undersized fastball from recent memory.  I've obviously been scarred.  But I'll take another Donald if that's the case!

The only thing I know about the new DC is he likes cover 2, so our 2nd and 3rd corners won't be stuck on an island covering Davante Adams and Deandre Hopkins.  Who knows if that's the style he wants to bring to Philly though?

Markelle Faultz is definitely a Roseman pick.

I used to hate undersized players and bashed the Eagles for their tendency to chase them...did that from about 2000-2011.

Those days are over.  The NFL has changed.  If you can't be physical, it's not essential to be big.

Kinda hard to predict what type of Defensive players will fit the Eagles new Defense under Gannon.

He’s definitely gonna blitz more and being under Zimmer I’m sure you can expect some Cover 2 but outside of that who knows?

In that case it’s hard to see which Draft prospects we can see the Eagles targeting. I’m expecting CB to be more of important role

I just don't want to see 10 yard cushions anymore

From what I've gathered, Indy wasn't a strict cover 2, but had some cover 2 elements.

A lot of Seattle, so they'll want long CBs, but they don't need uber talents b/c they tend to go 2 safeties. They'll press the CBs more with deep help.

So I'd expect they want more speed at safety but may go CB a little later in the draft.

The current CBs on the Eagle roster are a little small, so I expect Howie to pick up some SFAs and UDFAs who are a better fit for depth.

Not even on 4th against Tennessee? Twice on the same drive?

The TCU safety would be excellent but indoubt he lasts to out second

we could be in a great trade back spot with all three teams behind us needing qbs. We want the qbs to go early

if chase and smith are gone its not the end of the world. There are some second round options

Not alot of seattle at all. Thats the cover 1/3 system

Would love Moehrig in Eagles green!

If the Eagles trade back to the late 20s, he'd be ideal.

Maybe grab a WR in the second. Like what I see on film of Terrace Marshall, Jr from LSU.

Fipp to the Lions

ST sucked for awhile. Also lots of questionable players put back there to return

Fipp was good. The special teams hasn’t been bad. Even if they were I don’t know how anyone could notice with how pathetic the offense has been.

Well, we watched the games. That's how we know it was bad.

I’m expecting cover 2 with more blitzing. We may just may even value the LB position!!!

I'd love to know how Gerry was playing over Singleton for so long

So many bad players that started over better ones all season

Guess I need to start watching...

Which is why I'm really hoping the Eagles target either Moehrig or Cisco.

Or both!

Cisco played alot of SS. Not sold on Wallace. Maybe move him to slot CB or third S.

Both are playmakers with a penchant for creating turnovers.

Secondary rebuild Year 1

This is what I want out of my DBs, both the CBs and the Ss.  Ballhawks.  Give me DBs who play the position like they're WRs and get the damn ball.

Really?  🤮

Outside of Elliott being inconsistent and the returners being subpar most of the time I don’t think it was horrible. Certainly have way more things to complain about and I can’t put it on Fipp.

Also the offense was so bad I wouldn’t have noticed if we had the worst ST of all time

They moved from a predominantly cover 2 team to a lot more cover 3 last year.

Special teams were good his first couple of years. Since then, not so much

There were so many injuries and less value placed on core special teamers that he didn’t have the horses he used to have.

The fact that the Eagles blocked him from interviewing at first suggests either they really liked him or that Sirianni and/or the other candidates had interest in keeping him.

My guess is that Sirianni kept Fipp around at first in case he missed his target.

ST’s have been trending down for the last few years. Part of this is Kelly investing into star ST players like Maragos/Braman, part is all the injuries not helping, part is Fipp either making bad decisions or someone else having input on players. It’s best at this point for both sides to move on.
