Exactly how I saw it.

If you get 3 of the next 5(which is more than doable) you get Coots and probably Myers back and have a February where you can win 7 games(3 against the rags, 2 more devils, 2 more biffalo who I think stink)

Buffalo top 6 are tough for us.  But with Coots back and playing his game and Myers as well I agree overall.  Question is of we can get past one of the Pens/Caps/Bruins/Islanders.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

As opposed to players like Kelce, Lane, Ertz, Cox, who came out openly supporting Wentz? You know the actual leaders of the team, vs WARD? C'mon man.

Alshon was obviously anti wentz as well

Alshon may be the whole reason there is ANY anti wentz at all.

Again, I'll listen to the actual leaders of the team that came out PUBLICALLY in support of Wentz.

I hope you are right and that its that simple. But all the guys you cite are older white players. Lets hope there is nothing racial to it but in todays environment who knows...

perhaps some think thats why Jenkins was allowed to walk

(Just saw this on the new EMB Guidelines post.)

Interesting read on AR's first coaching staff:

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/surprising-look-back-how-andy-reid-picked-his-1999-coaching-staff

"You can see by the people I’m hiring that I’m looking for a certain kind of person,” Reid told reporters during the hiring process. "I’m not going to hire anybody who isn’t a teacher. I want high-character people here.”

People put too much emphasis on "Xs" and "Os", like I've pointed out, everything is stolen in the NFL, you can't keep a new idea "new" more than a few weeks, at best one season.

The edge you get out of a coaching staff is teaching, improving your talent level by improving your players.

Everybody knew exactly what Vince Lombardi was going to run, but it didn't matter, because they executed those plays perfectly. Some things never change.

Jenkins was allowed to walk because of age, $ and play.

And yes Cox is AA, called Wentz his best friend on the team

I can guarantee you the coaches and the players do

yeah he can clearly be upgraded and i suspect we take a WR somewhere this year.

I want to see Quez and Reagor working out of the slot more anyway

I mean he got outplayed by a WR that was cut from two practice squads this year (Fulgham)  Pretty sure we wont really miss him if he dislikes wentz enough to demand a trade:ph34r: LMFAO

of course they do. but the GM and owner (and fans) should have a mentality to win the war, not the individual battle.

On game days I'm all about the individual battle. All except for the last two of the season.

So we know many vet players who could be considered leaders on the team came out in support of Wentz.  Still, there did seem to be a new energy when Hurts was put is as the starter.  My theory on why players sort of rallied around Hurts is because the players aren't stupid and they saw the battle between Wentz and Doug regarding the O scheme.  As JR mentioned in his insightful post yesterday about how we were still running RPOs with Wentz (which we didn't do in 2017 with Wentz and didn't install that into the O until Foles took over for the SB run, which was probably at the behest of Reich, IMO) even though that didn't suit his style of play and so the O suffered because it made Wentz hesitant.  Wentz is playing in a system that he's not comfortable with and he could try and be the best teammate/leader he can and keep plugging on, but since he's also a human being his frustration is going to come out and his teammates are going to both see and feel it.  So it affects the whole O eventually.  Hurts comes in and Doug tweaks the O enough to play to some of Hurts' strengths, something he didn't do for Wentz for some reason.  The players see and feel a different vibe and reactions from their new QB and respond to it.  It's not rocket science.

The hope is that Sirianni and his O staff are smart enough to realize what works with/for Wentz.  They scrap the RPO for him and design a scheme and plays more like the O he was running in 2017.  Now that doesn't mean we'll see the 2017 Wentz again, but I think we'll see a big improvement over 2020.  A few other hopes are a mostly healthy OL, an upgrade at the #2 RB position and that Sirianni's track record of coaching up WRs continues here and we see our young WR group improve by leaps and bounds over last season.  I say leaps and bounds because as bad as they all were last season to say a slight/decent improvement still wouldn't be good enough, but by leaps and bounds I mean they look like acceptable starting quality WRs.  That still might be a stretch.

I think what happened and where Doug lost the plot was after winning the SB with Foles running the RPO system and then Reich left.  Doug leaves the RPO system in place even though it doesn't play to Wentz's strengths and ends up making him regress.  IMO, if Reich had stayed I think the O system would have been changed back to one that played more to Wentz's strengths.  For some reason Doug just failed to understand that and it cost him his job.  This is where Doug's shortcomings as a HC come into play and why he needs someone like Reich to back him up.  The hope is that Sirianni is more like Reich and will see what was done wrong and will implement what needs to be done right with the personnel he has.

True.  Ward isn't worth keeping, if he tried to pull a power move over who the QB is.  The concept is ridiculous.

Ward is on team Eagles. The kid is one of the first in the end zone congratulating other players.  You see him walking up and congratulating ST and D players too.  That has always been his approach and why he was so coveted as a player at UH.  Just because players support other players does not mean that the player supports one over the other.  Think Ward doesn’t like Wentz, who helped him secure a roster spot?  Fulgham credited Alshon with helping him when Alshon was still injured.  We, as fans, have more dislike and disconnect for players than I think this team has. I don’t think we have Aso eating in his car on this team.

But what does Hakeem Butler think about all this?

Of course they had more energy with Hurts, he's a running QB, he makes big plays with his legs, at least in the first half of games.

Then the opposing DC makes adjustments. Oh well.

Donovan criticizing Rodgers for being 1-4 in NFFCGs is...something.

I loved Donovan when I was younger, but he keeps doing things that make it harder to root for him.
