I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

More of an unknown up and coming coach

Johnson is only 33, so another young gun on this staff, and I believe the youngest so far. Interesting they are avoiding the more experienced types for these assistant positions.

Also not seeing any obvious connections to Sirianni or his staff on this. Might be a Howie rouge hire since its his alma mater.

Could be a response to public outcry for a more diverse leadership staff.

Not to detract from Johnson who seems like a quality hire regardless.

Here’s some of his coaching philosophy

If this were a Westbrook interview, that sentence would have been, "Obviously I've heard a lot of very good things about Brian Johnson obviously."

I know this isn't the same thing as the crap the Eagles do with the roster and their perpetual course corrections there, but it is kinda funny how every year the Eagles as an organization find one aspect of the team to completely do a 180 on. They went from jump ball and physical guys to speed speed speed last year. Now this year they won't hire a coach under 40. I don't think it's intentional like it was with the roster moves, but it's interesting nonetheless.

OMGZ our at the time 15 year old QBz coach knew Jalen Hurts! Obviously going with him as the futures.

Brian Johnson is a STUD, i was very scared Florida would lose him to an actual OC position in the college ranks. He did not call plays for UF, Dan Mullen did. However, make no mistake he helped very much in the offensive game plan and was very crucial in the development of Kyle Trask.

100% off topic.  Was watching GMFB this morning, does it look like Kay Adams and the make up dept are trying to hide a cold sore on her top lip under her nose ??

I think Wentz knows his status.  If Sirianni has already called and spoken with him, I suspect Lurie and/or Howie have also called and spoken with him.

1.  Carson, you’re our starting QB

2.  Carson, there will be no ‘open QB competition’ in camp

3.  Carson, everyone is accountable for their performance; if you don’t take the initiative to improve, you won’t have the job to Week 14 this season.

Wait there goes the narrative, the Eagles are racist.

It's so GD soft it's not even funny.  I don't know, maybe I'm crazy, but I wouldn't want to downplay what he's accomplished over his career.  Makes our 2018 SB win look even that much better.  10 SB appearances.....to call that lucky is silly.

Some posters in here really have an insane Patriots hang up. And it seems that extends to Brady. But 10 SB appearances is just.....beyond ridiculous.

Not sure if everyone is on board but we just hired someone with insanely good insight into Kyle Pitts, so perhaps get used to the idea.

Young coaches carry more risk, but also more upside. This staff could be great or completely blow up. That's more exciting than Doug Pederson/Press Taylor in 2021.

I was shocked you did not bring that up in your first post, but I was waiting

There’s been an element of good fortune, no doubt — but that is true of most superstar athletes.  I’ve always seen a portion of the Belichick/NE formula as "we’ll be here right at the end and pressure you, until you beat yourselves " — and it usually works.

The formula has carried through to the Bucs this postseason.  Saints beat themselves because Brees is cooked, Packers beat themselves because LaFleur and Rodgers made big mistakes at crunch time.  Now we’ll see if Andy and Mahomes can play mistake-free in the 4th quarter.

I’d really love to see the Chiefs ahead by 25+ points with the 4th quarter winding down — never seems to work that way for Brady, though.  That in itself says something

More Eagles QB intrigue: As this excellent @MikeSielski column from last May points out, Eagles' new QB coach, Brian Johnson, recruited Jalen Hurts when he was at Miss. St. Jalen's father also was an asst. at Baytown Lee H.S. when Johnson played there (Paul Domowitch)

ok.  Well Johnson was also Dak's coach in college.  Dak is without a contract..... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 🙂

Picking a tightend in the top 25 is beyond dumb.

Yes, but he played in the slot, and out wide quite a bit.  He is a big WR more than he is a TE.  If he runs a good 40, seeing it projected in the 4.65 - 4.7 range, no reason you couldn't draft him and use him all over the formation.  Goedert also has the ability to line up anywhere, could really get creative with the offense.  Imagine lining Pitts up at TE and Reagor wide but close to the LOS, then motioning Pitts out wide, putting Reagor in the slot.  Would cause matchup nightmares for the defense.

So we’re trading both Wentz and Hurts and signing Dak?
