Man.  How to soften a crusty man.  Take his first pup away from him.  Had to put this guy to rest tonight.   13 great years.  Great dog.  Tough day.

Sorry to hear. As I've said to my wife many times: Sooner or later they break your heart.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

There was  a tweet that hit the nail on the head with this too.  Culley was an Eagles coach for 13 years.  The Eagles invested 13 years in developing him as a coach.  He goes to the Ravens for 2 years.  The Ravens get the comp picks for  "developing" Culley, despite the more than a decades worth of work the Eagles put in.

It's an absolute pathetic system.

You’re kidding, right?  Culley hasn’t worked with the Eagles for 9 years and was never anything more than a WR coach here.  He’s worked for 3 organizations since then, and been an assistant head coach with KC and BAL.  You don’t get compensation for firing people.  The organizations that hired him as AHC should be compensated.

Compensated for what exactly?

Ok. Let me get this straight.   There’s talk on the radio (Jon Ritchie) that Wentz is definitely gone now.  Because our new QB Coach tried to recruit Hurts when he was younger.  So an NFL franchise is going to pivot the direction of the organization because of a position coaches indirect connection to a guy in college?!?   WTF is this world coming to?

Your problem is the Bolded.

They purposely try to create drama, so people will get riled up and tune in/call in. It's a soap opera setting for sports fans. All so they can make money. Much like most ESPN shows now. It's all hot takes. No offense, but it's too low brow for me, and I am a low brow humor type of guy.

I dont subscribe to any of it. The one lone Bastian that still has some credibility in regards to sports talk radio and the NFL is the NFL channel on sirius. Mostly- that talk is just about the game, it's not about selling the drama, though there are still a few idiots on there that try.

But people fall for that kind of "entertainment" all the time.

Old, young, fat or lazy. Deaf, dumb, blind or crazy, and even if they don't have legs ...

Now that Deshaun Watson has "officially" requested a trade I suspect there will be a lot of "trade Wentz and 3rd" stupidity out there that will be fueled by WIP and Twitter. The Eagles have spent the whole offseason so far talking about nothing but fixing Carson Wentz. He is and will be QB1. That's all there is to it.

I still try to listen to WIP because they have 20/20 sports updates and I drive a lot. But it's gotten brutal and I can't listen anymore for more than 5 minutes at a time.

I don't want Wentz to go but at this point. If it happens, it happens. Frankly I'm sick of the whole thing.

Every single one of them does it to some extent. He was probably told to do so.

If he goes it'll just start again in a year or two with his replacement.

This is what happens when the person making the point slams themselves into the middle of a topic.  You have to look at media as one big editorial any more....a little bit of substance and a whole low of opinionated fluff.  The shame is that many believe this is actual news.

I've been a Jon Ritchie fan, but you know the one bad apple routine - the whole bunch has been spoiled. A couple few weeks ago (before the benching) I heard Ike talking about how terrible Wentz was and that the Eagles needed to trade him before he ruined what trade value he had.  A couple weeks after that he was talking about how much talent Wentz had and the Eagles needed to find a way to get him right. Now he's back to trade him and start over - radio has become internet click bait.

Absolutely right.   It's clear that there is a gang mentality with the Philly media and many fans.  They will just pick another target.

It will never end. We really only had one offseason of no debate over who will be or should be the starter in the last 10+ years and that was in 2017.

Honestly I got sirius in 2005 and stopped listen to WIP and once I did, it became so apparent to how much crap WIP and others just spew. Once I listened to people just actually talking about the game and players and not selling hot takes, I realized how stupid it was listening to that crap. No i dont always agree with the opinions on Sirius NFL but at least there are no Max Kellerman/Skip Bayless types on there.

Right now the best programming you can listen to/watch is Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller on in the afternoons. HIghest quality sports content of any outlet

no truer statement has ever been said.

Obviously the Eagles are going to draft Trask to replace Wentz, since Johnson coached him at Florida.

Can players take back trade requests? If he did it weeks ago then what's the point of doing these hires

We have to have the youngest staff in football. I wonder how we’d compare to college programs.

Nah Trade for DAK, Johnson coached DAK.

apparently he gave the new GM a list of teams cause of his no trade cause

The best maneuver would be to "no trade" him.   If he sits out, so be it.  If his career is over, so be it.

Curious question: would folks consider a trade of Wentz, Ertz, and a 1st for Watson? Maybe throw in an additional 2nd?

I’m not opposed to moving on from him, just to remove the distraction the media has created and then provide me a reason to point and laugh at those morons when he turns it around elsewhere.  But not for the sake of Jalen Hurts.  He’s a slightly better Tim Tebow.

It may be good that we get a QB coach familiar with Hurts.  That relationship could help turn him from a throwing RB into a backup QB.  If not, that pick was a complete waste.

Yes. It's very unheard of for college coaches to recruit top prospects coming out of high school. It's also very important to remember Hurts turned him down to join Alabama because he didn't want to alienate the other players on Mississippi St. because he and the coach were too good of friends.

Why would we swap a franchise  QB that may or may not have a bad attitude and who may or may not want traded for a franchise QB who actually has a bad attitude and definitely wants a trade?  Seems to me like we would be getting what we don't want.
