I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Most people invest like the invest in a home.  Pick a company with a sound foundation and good business plan that will lead it to accumulate value measured by it Price to Earnings ratio.

That's my personal investment strategy... and since almost all my investments are in retirement accounts, I'm in it for the long haul.   I won't buy an individual stock of a company I wouldn't patronize as a customer.   It worked out really nicely for me with Home Depot stock.   Best individual investment I've ever made.   (Which might be a poor statement on my overall investing), but I'm happy.

In additional to some individual stocks, I have two different fund companies that I am invested in.  Both are fairly 'risky' at the current time, but since I am in the market for the next 15+ years, I can afford a short-term risk for a long term reward.  The funds I am currently filling are Vanguard funds for retirement in 2035 and 2050.   They are designed to be long term investments, so currently are higher risk, but as the retirement year comes up, they move to safer funds.  I decided to extend the risk a bit by adding the 2050, even though I will likely sell that one off soon after retirement for a 'safer' fund if it starts to look risky.

Likely not the best strategy, but it works for me.   (And if it doesn't, don't tell me... I don't think I want to know.  )

Thrre are kids on reddit who are worth millions because of their positions in GME.

They were yesterday.  Stock is back down today.  Group think went away as sales started.  Some of that crowd got screwed too.  As I said, the hedge fund managers are jackasses as are this group.

Kid definitely has moves to get open in the NFL, and plenty of speed.  If Sewell is available at 6, would look at this kid in round 2.  And, now we have a Florida connection.

I could see a ref throwing a flag at the 2 second mark for a push off lol

EDIT: Not saying I think it is. Just that refs nowadays...

I like the 2035 fund and have some money in it.  My company did a 6% match at 100% in our 401ks. I started contributing as soon as I could (back then we had a six month waiting period). Their "pension” was mediocre but in addition to the 6% match, they also contributed to a retirement fund.  It was a Vanguard retirement account.  When my kids went to work, I told them to immediately contribute to get the full match available to them so they never saw it and thus would never miss it.  I always looked at it as a raise of 6% every year.   I told them to IRA every year, Roth when they can for some untaxed distributions.

Thats investing

GME is trading

Do we think all assistant coaches are hired, thus the PC?  No RB coach.  No word on DBs, S or LB coaches. No word on WR coach. I presume Gannon is giving lots of input on D.

And traders f’in traders?  Most of us laughed at that.  I expect we may see some tightening attention on the hedge funds as a result of this.

It's true.   I forget which comedian said it... but he said that getting a pet is like buying a minor tragedy.   It's coming eventually.

But, I wouldn't trade it for anything.   I have a 5 year old labradoodle...(Today is her birthday) and I have to say, that there's so much joy in owning her.  She's a part of every part of our life and we wouldn't want it any other way.   But, we know that eventually, that joy will turn to sorrow for a period of time.  But, in the end, even that sorrow turns back to joy as we remember all the great times we had together.

C.S. Lewis put it best, I think:

Jack Lewis: Why love if losing hurt so much. I have no answers anymore, only the life I have lived. Twice in that life I have been given the choice. As a boy and as a man. The boy chose safety, the man chooses suffering. The pain now is part of the happiness then. That's the deal.

Yes. The more you love the more it hurts when you lose them. They give you everything they have. When I think of the animals we have lost over the years it makes me treasure those we still have. I'll take the pain.

Warren Buffett says he never invests in anything he doesn't understand. I don't understand bitcoins.

That's basically what I told my sister when my Akita had to be put down. The pain of losing her sucked but I wouldn't wish it away if it meant also losing all the great memories.

I suspect it may be more difficult when that time comes with my current dog, Huskies are "special." This dude has me wheezing several times a day, whereas the Akita was more serious...still fun though.

No legs?  That’s 3/4 of the WR’s Howie drafts.

Can compete with Hightower for the prestigious dropimus prime award. For most drops as a receiver

Jackie Smith is still the all-time drop champion. He didn't drop many but one was the winning TD in the Super Bowl.

Carson just tweeted? It’s been a while. I’m gonna go tell him he’s a crybaby and we don’t want him. 😂

So you are asking if we can change it to the Jackie smith dropsie award? I’m down with that

Ah you take me too seriously. I was joking. I would never do that.
