Well, if the plan is to trade Hurts, which I think it should be, if they say Wentz is the starter it lowers his value. Well, he may be our starter, so we can't just give him away kind of thing. They can't go into this season with both and expect Wentz to improve. It's the Foles looking over his shoulder mental block all over again. If they are choosing to really invest in Wentz then they need to move him.

If HOU had any draft capital I’d say they’d be a perfect landing spot for Hurts

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Posted Images

People expected to be anything but underwhelmed when the process to hire said coach was in itself underwhelming?

Doesn’t mean he can’t be the next Lombardi, but I think if you went into anything about this process with a glass half full mentality, whether it be the candidates they targeted, why they were targeted, the press conference, or anything in between you were gonna be disappointed.

The organization simply isnt well run right now.

Yep...was thinking the same thing.  I wouldn't blame him one bit for wanting to be away from Lowie.  But he'll be labeled a "baby" and bad teammate........but lets label Jalen Ramsey, Deandre Hopkins, Deshaun Watson, Jamal Adams and others as "taking control of their situation".

Neither Carson at this point nor the new coach has done or said anything that makes me think otherwise. Other than Coach saying he's excited about working with both quarterbacks

Combining the 45 seconds I could stomach and what you guys are saying in here, I wouldn't blame Wentz for wanting out of this sinking ship.

Well the thing is Sirianni was noncommittal when it came to questions about Wentz. Which is understandable at this point and time but the question of weather Wentz will be back is the one that stood out to me. Had seemed like he honestly didn’t know and answered it as best he could.

It’s gonna be an excruciating wait but time will tell

Yea, I disagree completely with any and all of this. Has Matt Ryan come out and say anything about Arthur Smith being hired? His future isn't exactly solid, so why is it fine he stays silent?

Cox and Kelce are "leaders in the locker room" so why is it fine that they don't have to say anything about the future or the new coach? Media members are acting like spoiled brats over this and think they are entitled to know with pure clarity what's going on, even if there isn't anything happening right now.

I agree that nothing is settled at this point.  Wentz hasn't come out and said he wants to be traded.  He will be back if the team doesn't want to trade him.  I imagine he will go into camps as the favorite as a starting QB.  I think the take away from the press conference for me was that Sirianni has not looked at Eagle's tape yet.  I think he was giving an honest answer about looking at tape and making decisions on the roster.  I think as we get information about who they are meeting with and scouting, we will have a better sense of what they think of the roster.  The reality is that if they are meeting with a bunch of QBs. It means they have serious concerns about Carson.

This is the unfortunate truth. As long as Lowie is together this is what we are gonna get.

Who did they not interview that you wanted them to interview?  To me it looked like the process was fine — and I’m frankly delighted we didn’t end up with Duce, McDaniels, or Bieniemy — all of whom would have been worse choices

Well let's just say I don't believe he hasn't looked at any tape on Wentz or Hurts yet.

I think the guys they interviewed were fine. I have no problems with the candidates they interviewed.

Why would Wentz worry about Hurts? Take care of your own business and you'll be fine.

Anyone who watched Hurts last year knows he needs a year of hard coaching to learn how to play QB in the NFL. And then we can reassess.

I agree about Carson.  But the HC responds with "I can't answer that right now".  That's pretty damning.  And spare me the, "I didn't watch tape" yet BS.  That's a lie and we all know it.  My gut tells me that he spoke to Carson and Carson has indicated he's not super excited to come back to this ish show and I can't blame him.  If he was excited and both were committed to each other, he would not have started his one answer with "I can't answer that right now".

See my above answer. If he didn't at least look at any tape on those two I'm not sure he's the right guy for the team

We’ll know for sure by March 19. If they pay his roster bonus he’s not going anywhere. Given the fact he and his agents have still not requested a trade and he’s talking to the HC and OC is enough for me that he likely will be back.

There's glancing at tape (for his interview), developing a general impression.

Then there's looking at tape, broken down by your interns, analyzing every aspect of a player.

My thoughts exactly. Like I was saying in a previous post when they asked the last question about Carson he seemed liked he really didn’t know.

Also the fact when asked about his offense he said he coached Luck, Brissett, and Rivers and can change to fit his QB I though was kinda strange just considering the QB controversy we have here.

That may be true but I think they mean give each player a grade on every play.  I think it's at that point they will see where they are at the position.  I will say the message from the FO was that they wanted a coach that would bring Carson back.  I don't think I heard that today.  What I heard is that there are 2 QBs and we will go with the one that we think is best.  The coach hasn't decided who is best yet.

The Eagles seem determined to go down this two-QB path, which I believe is a terrible idea.  They’re not even similar in how they play, so you’d need two different play sheets for them.  There was a question about Sirianni coaching different types of QBs in each of 3 years with Luck, Brissett, and Rivers — but people are leaving out the fact that each of those 3 QBs were the unquestioned starters coming out of training camp.

Get Hurts gone for a 2nd round pick is the best course of action IMO

I wonder if Lurie is still speaking and the Eagles PR just switched cameras and didn't tell him

That's a lie and he got caught in it.  He said when Reich came to Indy they showed a lot of Philadelphia tape from 2017/2018.  With Wentz.  And am I to believe that he took the job without looking at THE Most position on the team?  It's a lie and he was told to say that to best avoid the Wentz thing.  It was an idiotic idea to say that.  Lacks emotional intelligence.

I think he meant from this past season because it was also in the context of Reagor's play.

Of course they are. You know its a terrible idea, I know its a terrible idea, the media knows it's a terrible idea, Sirianni probably thinks its a terrible idea, WIP callers know its a terrible idea, so of course they are going to with this approach. And I swear, if there is even one play of Wentz lining up out wide to bring in Hurts for some rinky dink option, I'm forever out on Sirianni.

It is. He’s talking about how a line from the movie V.I Warshawski help him hire Sirianni..

No, Hurts has to learn how to play like a NFL pocket QB. You have to master the basics, the RPO is a more sophisticated version of the wildcat, but any offense built around it is doomed to failure (see the Ravens), what makes KC so tough is Mahomes can play QB, but can also run the RPO, so you can't just focus on containing him as a runner. You may have a RPO package for Hurts coming off the bench, but if you want to develop him as a future starter he needs at least a year learning how to make reads, etc. and throw from the pocket.

It's Wentz's job to lose, period. And Sirianni will probably have a complete breakdown, comparing the same plays from 2017 and 2020, analyzing what went wrong, from Wentz's mechanics and reads, OL protections, RB blitz pickup and receiving, WR route running, and playcalling. And he'll use that to start putting both Wentz and the offense back together.

Interesting article from someone who is very close to Carson and the team.

I keep going back and forth on Carson but if he really didn’t do the acts he’s been reported to do, I’m way more willing to have him come back but I don’t know what good that will do. He seemed mentally checked out last year and (I think) his camping is using Rob to indicate that he is truly done in Philly (Rob seems to indicate that Hurts is the better option for Philly at this junction).

Nick Sirianni's press conference >>>>> Doug Pederson's first press conference.

Also, winning the press conference doesn't matter.

Great theory. Not reality. You must have missed the Foles has to go stuff a few years ago.
